Luke Campbell v Andy Harris

12 Rounds Welterweight: Kell Brook v Carson Jones

Vacant Commonwealth Lightweight Title: Derry Mathews v Tommy Coyle

WBC International featherweight title: Lee Selby v Viorel Simion

Six rounds middleweight: Anthony Ogogo v Gary Boulden

There seems to be a bit of hype surrounding Luke Campbell, a lot created by Eddie,  so will be interesting to see how he does.

Carson Jones is apparently going to try and physically kill Brook.  Brook needs to do better this time.

Derry really doesn't help himself on social media so I won't mind him getting a good test.

Looks like a decent match up for Selby and real progress to be made for the winner towards a crack at the WBC belt.

Ogogo looked like he wouldn't have the power to punch his way out of a wet paper bag in his last outing.  Now he's a pro he needs to work on his heavy hitting, he threw and landed heaps of power shots to no effect last time.  Flash boxer but does he bite.

Wow. This card has gone completely un noticed and not really been advertised very well. (in on about Kell Brool vs Carson Jones).

surprising really.

i agree with your view on Ogogo, definitely needs work on his power, looked brilliant stateside but lacked that killer blow which may come in time.

GBP seemed very impressed mind.

Lee Selby looks destined for very good things. Have been very impressed in his last few fights. How far he goes will be interesting with the current World Crop.

Luke Campbell......now.....this boy has been hyped to the rafters big time. He better perform!!

on another note, i hope brook does get killed by Jones. The guy is a tool, hardly ever fights and when he stepped up to AVERAGE level against Jones he got dragged into a complete war and only scraped through! Somehow got a world title shot which fell through after what seemed like a decade of re scheduled fights. Now he is back down to AVERAGE level against a guy who recently lost?!

i just don't get it.

The reason this fight has gone so unnoticed is probably because people have lost interest in Brook and I think even Matchroom are finding it hard to sell the guy now

Just read the Brook fight is at 152lb instead of 147lb.

Brook really is a waster. Will he ever knuckle down? Personally I wrote him off a couple of years ago when I realised he was lazy.

I think its fair to be critical of Brook in the past but he was very unfortunate to lose out on the Alexander fight when the stage was set for him.

Why AZ? Its my opinion and everyone is entitled to one, just like you on Price and Khan, some of which people don't agree with. I don't mean i actually want him to die in the ring, i just hope Jones kills his career off. He is going nowhere.

Emm........he could fight at 154.

152 is a ridiculous catch weight for a supposed welter weight.

From the other thread:

TopHat24/7 wrote:Part of Brook's problem is that, in a normal 9 yr career, most people would consider it reasonable for someone who started at 147 to be moving up to say 154 after 6-8 yrs at the weight. But as Brook has achieved little and is still just a fringe contender, the fact his body naturally is outgoing the weight makes him look bad.

If he has been half as successful as Amir Khan and was now saying "my body's outgrowing the weight and I need to go to 154", nobody would bat an eyelid.

I hope Campbell looks awful just so I can laugh at Eddie Hearn using the Chris Eubank Jr ("we are matching him tough") excuses.

Would love to see Brook get beat (Kevin Keegan style) I WOULD JUST LOVE IT IF JONES BEATS HIM!!!

And again, this is nothing really to do with Brook, the fact the last Jones fight was supposed to be an eliminator.....then the next fight was another eliminator.....Hearn bores me to tears with these kind of fights. Almost every fight he puts on is supposecd to be an eliminator. I remember when Paul McClumsy was fighting Bredis Prescott....WBA Eliminator....the DeMarcus Corley....eliminator to fight Marquez.

E.E.E.Eliminator!!!!!!

It's 150 rather than 147. So he's going for a McChicken Sandwich rather than the full meal.

Would appreciate if someone could clear this up, seeing as there's a lot of frustration bordering on ill-feeling towards Brook.

Heard a few 'waster' type comments and begs the question to which I do not know the answer - does he not 'live the life' in terms of training, nutrition etc and is that the source of some of the comments?

I genuinely don't know which is why I'm asking, but that seems to be the undertone to some of what is being said.

The rumours are shadow, that prior to the last jones clash, he didn't diet properly and just crashed to weight, but as he kept winning he thought I was fine, but showed against jones when he gassed from round 6, although he showed heart and can grind a result, no matter how lucky.

He is talking now that he has done everything correctly this time round.

i think early on he was getting trouble about town and silly things, but really focused around the n'dou fight onwards, however he did say he cut corners in training the first jones fight so who knows. i think the early broken nose didn't help either in that fight.

i think a lot of people also hold the fact that he turned down a shot at bradley's title whilst he was plowing over guys in constant final eliminators, to secure a shot alexander, then pulled out a few times citing injury.

He got a conviction for hitting a night club employee who would not let him into the ladies toilets. The conviction was overturned on appeal due to a technicality.
