XBOX 360 thread - new games you'd recommend?
Thought it might be interesting for people to post info on XBOX 360 games they've uncovered / bought recently and would recommend to others.
Mine is XCOM: Enemy Unknown, a great turn-bases strategy game that gets you sucked into battle, caring about your soldiers, and giving you regular upgrades / research to keep you playing.
I would NOT recomment Homefront, which is a terrible FPS game taking everything that is bad about the COD games and making them even worse...
What games do people recommend, barring the obvious ones?

Just finished Red Dead but I think pretty much everybody has played it. Just starting GTA IV in anticipation for V coming out next month

Bar the Assassin's Creed franchise and Skyrim, I don't like games where there's a huge map and so much to do. I like my games concentrated and difficult, rather than spread out, easy and time-consuming. So I hated Red Dead (played about 2 hours before selling it), and I played GTA IV for 15mins before I packed it up and sent it back to Amazon.

I don't have the time to play much so the games I play, although new to me, are often a couple of months or longer since initial release.
Currently playing Far Cry 3 which is okay and I would recommend to fans of open world games. Huge game with lots of stuff on the side to do, good storyline but the missions themselves to progress the story can get a little repetitive. It took me a while to really get into but it was one of those games that seemed to draw me in without realising. Been planning to move onto my next game (Bioshock Infinite) for the last month or longer but still end up back with FC3 when I get a spare hour. If I was rating it I would give it a 7/10.
Before FC3 I really enjoyed the latest Tomb Raider. Good storyline, good graphics, although not open world a big game, varied and challenging in not just a blast the crap out of everything way and for me pretty engrossing. Would give it 9/10, the best game I have played in the last year or maybe longer.
From what I can see in the way of upcoming releases Bioshock Infinite will take me through to GTA V, which in turn to take me through the the next gen consoles.

Tomb Raider was a brilliant game, had to get that on release, and I would recommend. I've also played Dishonored which I thoroughly enjoyed and I'm looking forward to getting the new GTA.
Thinking of getting Remember Me and Resident Evil: Revelations as I've seen both have decent reviews, anyone played any of them?

It's not new, but I would recommend the game 'Bully Scholarship Edition', which is for sale on the Xbox Live Marketplace for the low, low price of £2.99. Bargain.

Is that the full game Duty? I noticed it was cheap, but assumed that it was an add-on.
As for game recommendations, if you like platforming Rayman Origins is a brilliant game and good fun on co-op. The new Rayman Legends is supposed to be even better too.

Re: XBOX 360 thread - new games you'd recommend?
From IGN:
- Spoiler:
- "Though developed by Rockstar, makers of the Congressional-favorite Grand Theft Auto series, Bully is a T-rated game. There's no blood, no guns, no boosting of cars. Assault an officer of the law and you don't get a 6-star wanted rating -- you get busted. That doesn't mean there isn't plenty of mayhem (and violence) in Bully, just that it's not a GTA clone. Imagine if John Hughes made an open-world videogame starring John Bender, the thug from The Breakfast Club, and you should have a pretty good idea of the tone for Bully. This is an angst-filled game; a light-hearted simulation of the horrors of high school. And it's a lot of fun.
You play as Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old delinquent who's been expelled from seven other schools. After his mother and latest step-father dump him in a corrupt boarding school just outside the town of Bullworth, Jimmy must find a way to go from social pariah to schoolyard hero. Bully takes us through Jimmy's first year at Bullworth Academy. It's a rough year as Jimmy must negotiate the social strata of the various cliques in school (bullies, nerds, jocks, preppies, greasers) and out of school (townies). There are classes to ditch, prefects and cops to avoid and an entire town to explore."

I had it on PS2 and loved it. Great game. Plenty of missions and the layout is exactly like GTA but the gameplay is vastly different.

I agree, been playing it since the release date and they really thought over the controls.
