Third Test Ratings
Here Goes!!!
England
Cook – 6 – batted well first up, and got a good ball second innings.
Root – 3.5 – Getting bogged down. Was at least unbeaten in the second innings.
Trott – 3 – Looks out of form. Can do better.
KP – 7.5 - Match saving innings. Was a tad unlucky second time around.
Bell - 7 – A well timed fifty from Mr consistent.
Bairstow – 4 – Put on fifty with KP but Looks nervous.
Prior – 5 – A vital 30 ensured we saved the follow on. Keeping was adequate.
Bresnan – 6 – Bowled well without much luck then got two for 20 odd. Played a poor shot in the first innings.
Broad – 5.5 - As above, and like Prior got some valuable runs.
Swann – 7 - More wickets but did take a bit of stick second up.
Anderson – 4 – Not at his best, but it was tough for the quickies.
Australia
Watson – 3 – Not even getting fifties now.
Rogers – 6.5 – lovely innings of 84.
Khawaja – 4 – A little unlucky first up.
Clarke – 9 – Back to his best. Declaration was wrong, otherwise it would have been a 9.5.
Smith – 7 - Looks fluent but can he score a test ton. Unlucky run out second up.
Warner – 4.5 Hooked one to Root, but made a quick 41 second innings.
Haddin – 6.5 – A quick 65 and some good keeping.
Siddle – 7.5 – Excellent bowling from Mr Underatted.
Starc – 7 - Nice innings and 3 wickets.
Harris - 7 - Fine bowliing. Hits the deck in the right place.
Lyon – 5 - Bowled better than his figures

Re: Third Test Ratings
Think Watson's bowling needs to be looked at, think that should get him to a 4.

Re: Third Test Ratings
Watson's bowling, whilst economical, was entirely unthreatening though.
I only have a couple of very minor quibbles with your ratings.
I think you've underrated Rogers and Smith (and possibly KP) if you give Bell a 7 - Rogers in particular set the tone for the match by going after England's bowlers, and Smith came in at a crucial time and played a fine hand.
Possibly you've underrated the Aussie seamers by half a mark or so - I thought they bowled really well on a fairly unresponsive pitch.
KP and Smith 8, Rogers 7.5, Starc 7.5 (pick of the Aussie bowlers for me). The rest pretty much as you have it

Re: Third Test Ratings
Stella - generally on the money apart from Haddin whom I thought kept extremely well. That together with his runs first time out would have got him a 8 or 8.5 in my book.

Maybe an 8? 6.5 is a little light.
