Snookers Greatest Moments Empty Snookers Greatest Moments

Post by Guest Wed 11 May 2011, 7:21 pm

I was just wondering what people view as their best moment in snooker.

There have been some great achievements over the years but what is that one stand out moment that you will always remember?

For me, it is Ronnie's fastest 147. Here is a clip to it: Youtube Click Here

Whats yours?

The 85 ball black stands out for me. Best WSC match of all time. Dennis Taylor was one of my favourite Snooker players which made this moment the whole better for me.

So many to choose from but my all time favourite moment was Doherty beating Hendry in the 1997 world final.

Got to admit that Ronnies 147 in 5:20 was a very special moment. He never looked flusted, just pure confidence in himself and his special ability. I cant see anyone ever doing a 147 as quick as that ever again.

Only person I think has even a slight chance is Judd Trump. He reminds me of a mix between Ronnie and Jimmy White.

Mines was Higgins winning this years WC. He has had a horrendous year some of his own doing but his Father also died and I was right behind Wizard in the final. You could see how much it meant when he won.

He would be the only one that could possiblycome close but i honestly dont feel it will be matched or bettered. It was sublime snooker.

I think Snooker's greatest moment will prove to be Barry Hearn's takeover

Absolutely amazing by Jimmy bit of luck at the start but apart from that superb. Proves that even now he's still got it in him.

He still does Liam. Thats why it used to irritate me on the old 606 when posters who only recently started watching snooker called him a bottler because he never won a WC despite being in 6 finals. He was around at the time when 2 of the greatest players in the game were so dominant.

I think he could have some success on the pro tour if continues with performances like that.

We always live and hope with Jimmy but he is just capable of the odd good break these days. Its a shame because he is one of my all time favourites.

John Higgins winning that 4th title. I almost shed a tear. Also, Ebdon taking 5 minutes to make a break of 12 was a larf.

I have to say that Ken Doherty ending Stephen Hendry's run in 1997 was a big moment. And it couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke either in Ken.

Yeah Freek, that was one of my favourite moments as well. Hendry looked unbeatable until then. I always feel that Dohertys win really hit Hendry hard.
