Impact Wrestling Results 5/9 - contains spoilers
Music hits and it’s Aces & 8s! However, it’s Bully Ray with the TNA World Title, Brooke Tessmacher and Tito Ortiz. They are far ahead of the other members (Wes Brisco, Ken Anderson, Garett Bischoff, Knux). Ray kisses Tessmacher and they continue down the ramp. She opens the rope for him. He raises the title as the other members get in the ring. Ray wants his music shut off and he gets it. He wants to tell everyone something. The Aces & 8s are in total control. He turns to them and says they are the best brothers a leader can have. Without them, Ray would be nothing. They watch his back. They hang and bang. They do it all. He may have been harsh last week, but that’s all behind them. He goes over and hugs Garett and Wes. He moves to Knux and hugs and then pounds the fist of Tito. The crowd says, “Tito sucks.”
Ray says the crowd is jealous of him. Every women who wants to be with Ray would like to be with Tito second. Ray turns to Ken and says he is the best VP someone can ask for. Ken is more of a brother than Devon was. Ray and Ken hug. Ray talks about business. Knux will destroy Chris Sabin. Garett and Wes will beat the TNA Tag Team Champions. Ken will win the gauntlet and get the 20 points. Hogan doesn’t have Ray where he wants him. Ray has Hogan in checkmate. He will beat Sting and beat him bad just like he did at Slammiversary. He says the members can leave except for Knux as he has his match while Ray will stick with Taz and his booty lady. The members leave while Ray pumps Knux up.
Knux vs. Chris Sabin
Both move around the ring. Chris keeps a close eye on Ray as he is at ringside. Knux goes after him but Chris ducks. He does it again but Chris applies a headlock. Knux sends him in the ropes and hits him with a shoulder block. Chris gets up and goes to the corner. Chris raises his arms for a test of strength, but when Knux goes to grab his hand, Chris kicks him in the knee. He continues to work on the leg. Knux goes in the corner and wraps his leg around the rope. He hits it with a dropkick. Knux falls. Chris grabs it and locks in a half boston crab! Chris breaks it up. Both get up and Chris continues to attack with knife edge chops and punches. Chris goes in the ropes but Knux jumps in the air and lands right on Chris. Knux gets him up and takes Sabin down again. Knux slowly gets him up and hits a closeline. He covers but Chris kicks out. Chris punches back in the gut of Knux. He runs in the ropes but Knux hits a big boot. He taunts and the fans boo. Knux lifts Chris up on his shoulders and takes him down throat first on the top rope
Knux puts him on the bottom rope and chokes him. Knux grabs his legs and does a huge catapult as it sends Chris throat first into the ropes. Knux covers but Sabin kicks out. Knux now applies a headlock. Chris gets up and punches Knux in the gut. He goes to run, but Knux grabs his hair, pulls him back, and hits a back suplex. Knux goes to the second rope, jumps, and hits a leg drop. He covers but Sabin kicks out. He chokes Sabin on the second rope. Ray goes right in his face as Knux runs in the opposite way. He moves as Knux goes for a kick. Sabin stands and works on the leg while on the apron. He climbs the corner and does a missile dropkick. Just then, Ray runs over and gives Knux a hammer. He turns and Knux swings, but Chris hits him in the knee. He falls. The hammer goes across the ring. Both try to get it, but Sabin gets it and hits Knux right in the back of it.

(Resume regular coverage)
Sabin is shown flipping out backstage about the hammer being used, and Velvet Sky is trying to calm him down but Sabin won't listen. Sabin is ranting about how Bully only wins with the hammer and he didn't want to use it, and something needs to change because it's wrong. Velvet continues to try and get him to stop but he keeps pacing back and forth, finally saying he's done and walking away. Velvet looks like she doesn't know what just happened, and she says she can't believe this and throws her hands up in the air.
Mickie James comes to the ring and says she was so exciting about being in Cleveland, that she prepared a concert but ended up cancelling because of the VMAs. Mickie says she doesn't need the VMAs because of how they treated her 'friend' Miley, and she knows what it's like to be a huge star. She calls herself the best of the century, then ODB comes out and says the only thing she should worry about is her taking Mickie's title from her. Mickie says she is a star and sucker punches her, then ODB knocks her back down and holds up the title until Mickie takes it back. Mickie screams at her and tells her not to touch her, but ODB hits her and rips off her top, then taunts her as Mickie runs up the ramp.
Bound For Glory Series
12 Man Gauntlet Match (Winner Earns 20 Points)
Bradley tells Hernandez that a certain someone is paying him to make sure things go according to plan, so they can help each other and get rich in the process. Hernandez kicks him and hits a shoulder tackle, then he backdrops him and ties him in the ropes as Joseph Park makes his way to the ring. Park puts his fists up but Bradley kicks him in the corner, then he whips him across the ring but Park fires back with a shoulder block. Bradley elbows him back and tries to throw him outside, but Park blocks it so Bradley chokes him on the apron before Hernandez tackles him. Hernandez goes for an elimination but Bradley hangs on, then Ken Anderson runs to the ring and drops Hernandez and Park with some clotheslines. Anderson chokes Park on the apron as we go to a break, then we get back to find out Samoa Joe and AJ Styles have entered the match.
AJ runs right to the ring and takes Park out of the ring with a flying forearm shot, then he stomps Bradley in the corner while Joe tries to eliminate Anderson. He gets him over the ropes but Anderson blocks it, then Hernandez goes after AJ while Anderson chokes Joe in the corner. Kazarian enters the match and kicks AJ in the head, then Joe chops Anderson and hits several headbutts before setting up for a Muscle Buster. Anderson blocks it and tries to go on offense, but Joe stuns him with a leaping enziguiri that knocks him off the turnbuckles and out to the floor. Daniels comes out next and goes right after Joe on the mat, then he assists Kaz in attacking AJ while Bradley fights with Hernandez in the opposite corner. Joe comes back with a flurry of strikes and tries to toss Kaz outside, but Daniels helps Kaz stay in and they both eliminate Hernandez in the corner.
Jeff Hardy makes his entrance as we cut to a break, then we get back to see Bobby Roode come out and go right after Hardy in the corner. Roode stomps him while Kaz and Daniels go after Joe, then Bradley tries to eliminate AJ with a Boomstick but AJ ducks it and throws him outside. Joe attacks Daniels as Austin Aries runs out and drops Kaz with a flying shoulder tackle from the apron, then Daniels hits him from behind and ties Aries in the ropes. Kaz recovers and tries to help Daniels, then he Aries comes back with some kicks while AJ chops Daniels in the chest. Joe and AJ to to eliminate Daniels, then Kaz, and Magnus heads to the ring and takes each member of EGO down with some punches. Magnus drops Daniels with a scoop slam driver, then Kaz and Daniels team up on him and try to eliminate him, but Joe makes the save from behind. Joe knocks Kaz down and punches Daniels near the ropes, but Daniels ducks a punch and pulls the ropes, and Joe gets eliminated with help from Kaz and Roode.
Hardy tries to fight off an elimination but Roode runs over and dumps him over the ropes, then Kaz is thrown onto the apron before Magnus tries to scoop slam Roode. Daniels blocks the move and throws Magnus outside, then Daniels and Roode whip AJ into the ropes and take him down with a tandem elbow smash. They turn their attention to Aries but he ducks an attack and hits a discus clothesline, then he ends up on the apron but AJ springs over Roode and knocks Aries out with a flying forearm. AJ turns around and sends Roode out of the match, then he and Daniels trade punches before AJ connects with a springboard forearm and some clotheslines. AJ kicks him in the face and hits a fireman's carry backbreaker, then he goes for a Styles Clash but Daniels blocks it. AJ comes right back after him and stuns him with a Pele kick, then he runs and clotheslines Daniels out of the ring to win the match.
Winner - AJ Styles
Bully Ray is shown with his back turned to Ken Anderson, and he says he can't even look at him because he is such a big disappointment. He says all Anderson had to do was win a match and be in the driver's seat, but he failed him and he doesn't know what to say to him. Bully says Knux won his match and he is confident in Wes and Garett winning, then Anderson screams at him and says he's put everything on the line for the club. Anderson throws his towel and Bully says he'd better not disappoint him ever again, because they saw what he did to his own brother and he won't hesitate to do the same to him.
James Storm & Gunner vs Wes Brisco & Garret Bischoff
Wes and Garret run out and attack Storm and Gunner from behind, then Garret slams Storm's head into the ring steps while Wes attacks Gunner. Storm punches Garret back and sprays him with a beer bottle, then Gunner comes back with a clothesline to Wes before they get back in the ring. Storm whips Gunner into Garret, then he scoop slams Garret and hits and an elbow before Wes runs in and prevents Storm from hitting a suplex. Gunner runs him off but the ref breaks it up, then Garret hits Storm in the corner and he and Wes hit several clothesline for a near fall. Wes runs at Storm and gets kicked in the face, but Wes comes back with a Cross Armbreaker over the top rope before going for another near fall. Storm hits Closing Time and makes a tag, then Gunner hits some clotheslines and a corner splash before hitting a backbreaker for a near fall. Wes breaks it up and Storm whips him, then he hits an enziguiri before Gunner slingshots Garret towards Storm, who hits a DDT for two. Wes ends up pulling Storm out of the ring and throws him into the ringpost, then Garret tries to steal it with a rollup and tries to hold the tights. Gunner kicks out so Wes tries to bring the titles in the ring, and the ref blocks it but misses Garret hit Gunner with a chain to pick up the win.
Winners - Wes Brisco & Garret Bischoff
Jeremy Borash introduces Magnus, Bobby Roode and Austin Aries as part of the top four in the Bound For Glory Series, and says it's time for AJ Styles to pick his opponent. AJ comes to the ring and JB asks for his choice, but AJ gets in Roode's face, then Aries' and says he is the blemish on his record. He says Aries is the one guy he didn't want to lose to, and Aries says too bad, but AJ says he is going through Aries first. JB makes the match for next week official, then Aries says he won't make any guarantees about who wins, except for the fans, who win no matter what. Roode takes a mic and says his plan is coming together, and joining up with EGO propelled him into the top four, and he's facing the weakest link. Roode says Magnus beat him once but he's a new man, and he is going to win next week and take back his championship. Magnus says they earned points at each other's expenses, but he didn't need Daniels and Kazarian to help him and he did it all by himself. Magnus says Roode has new friends, but he has a family, so he's telling him that the playing field will be even and he's going through all three of them to win.
Bully Ray vs Sting
Hulk Hogan comes out and throws Tito Ortiz out of the ringside area, then security escorts him out through the crowd as Bully screams at him from the ring. Bully says he can't do that, but Hulk says he can, and Bully won't like the next detail because he's changing this to a no disqualification match. Sting charges Bully and splashes him, then he throws him outside and hits him with a chair as we cut to a break. We get back to see Sting hit him a few times, but Bully gains control of the chair and hits Sting before threatening to hit the referee. Bully slams Sting on the chair and has words with Ken Anderson at ringside, then Taz hands Bully a box cutter and he cuts the ring covering off. Bully hits Sting with the chair and exposes the boards on the ring frame, but Sting comes back with a Scorpion Deathlock and looks for a submission.
The rest of the Aces and Eights run out and attack Sting from behind, then Anderson watches as the Main Event Mafia runs out and evens things up. The Mafia clears the ring and allows the match to continue, then Sting misses a Stinger Splash and Bully sets up a piledriver on the exposed portion of the mat. Sting blocks it and hits him in the corner, then he goes for a Scorpion Death Drop but Bully blocks it and tries to tackle him. Sting sweeps his legs and puts him in a Scorpion Deathlock, then Anderson teases Bully by showing him the hammer and throwing it away as Bully finally taps out. Anderson gets in the ring and taunts Bully for losing, then he says he's the guy fighting him for the world title next week, and he's going to be Bully's nightmare.

Altogether a pretty good show. Particularly loved the last bit with Anderson and Bully.

I am really liking the Anderson character again - amazing to think that this is most probably a storyline they had for DOC - just cant see it working for Gallows myself, even though I am a big fan.

Don't know much (well - anything) about Gallows, but Anderson can really crank up his character to insanely intense levels...one of the few people who could credibly "out-badass" Bully.Adam D wrote:Thought it was excellent as well.dyrewolfe wrote:Altogether a pretty good show. Perhaps thats why they did the re-write...if thats what it was?
