The Zombie thread
I love all things zombie, so I thought I would open up a thread about it.
Post what you like in this section - from comics to tv to your own personal survival guide should the zombie apocalypse arrive tomorrow!
First up, some news about a movie based on a video game:
"You'd be forgiven for feeling like you're drowning in a sea of potential action zom-coms at the moment, but anyone who owned a SNES in the 1990s may prick up their ears at the news that a film adaptation of Zombies Ate My Neighbours is in the early stages of development.
The game, which came out in 1993 and was variously re-titled and censored depending on what country you lived in, was a top-down run-and-gun in which players controlled high-schoolers Zeke and Julie, scouring fifty-odd levels for missing suburbanites, while fending off hordes of the undead.
It was released by Konami but developed by LucasArts, sharing some Monkey Island DNA in the form of some genuinely funny cartoony humour. Weapons ranged from flamethrowers to crockery, and if you didn't have the right key for a particular door, you could just blow it open with a bazooka. Oh, and you had to fight a giant baby.
According to First Showing, the pitch is a kind of Superbad-meets-Zombieland-meets-Home-Alone, with the projected film "primarily its own coming of age high school story". Given that Konami have yet to cough up the rights then, we do wonder why licensing that title is strictly necessary: the twenty-year-old videogame only really has name recognition for one generation (although it was recently made available in all its 16-bit glory as a download for the Wii). NoMeansNo would probably option their Last Scream of the Missing Neighbours LP for a smaller sum.
Whatever, the film is being set up as an indie by April Wade's Women On Top Productions. John Darko, has written the script and is co-producing. Darko has recently been shooting second unit and stills for James Wan and Leigh Whannell's Insidious: an association that didn't ought to hinder his landing some useful connections for financing. No director or cast are attached yet, but it seems reasonable to assume that Darko is eyeing the gig behind the camera himself."

sounds awesome to me!

Yeah but how are we going to get close enough to bite you all if you have weapons? We are not exactly the most nimble of creatures and that constant moaning we do is hardly good for a sneak attack.

Re: The Zombie thread
Shaun of the Dead was on last night, the scene in the back garden got me thinking so what five records would you throw at the Zombies and what five records would you not throw at the Zombies.
To Throw
Mariah Carey All I Want for Christmas is You
Black Eye Peas Boom Boom Pow
East 17 Its Alright
Britney Spears Everytime
Lamb of God
Not To Throw
Deep Purple Made in Japan
Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here
Black Sabbath Paranoid
Iron Maiden Iron Maiden
Gerry Rafferty Baker Street

The thing with this is that he owned the records that he was throwing at them... So are you admiting to have purchased both East 17 and Britney Spears in the past?

Re: The Zombie thread
Being a born and bred Scotsman I'm aware that zombies have walked among us for some time. You should see the state of our jobcentres on gyro day, walking dead and the great unwashed everywhere. Sadly this infection is spreading with David Cameron calling the shots causing budget and staff cuts nation wide. With layoffs coming in May I could also soon be seen staggering around shopping centres living off nothing but Jermemy Kyle and Greggs steak bakes.
The only solution....kill Cameron who is clearly the host and cause of the infection. Crisis averted, world safe, Cameron dead. win win

Re: The Zombie thread
If you woke up in a scene similar to the beginning of the Walking Dead what would you do?
Re: The Zombie thread
Find a car, drive, find a better car, drive to a racetrack, have hours of fun, pick up a few guns and then head off for a killing mission.

and irony :P
Best zombie defending spots?
near me theres a tesco extra ( with petrol station + car park), a subway and a medical centre in 1 area, across the road from it is a golf course and 5 minutes walk away is a leisure centre in the middle of a park.
is that a safe area?

Re: The Zombie thread
My little girl went to a little local museum this weekend where they were having a roman exhibition.
As part of the display, they had replica costumes for the children to wear, including a chainmail vest.
Even though it was designed to fit a 7 year old, it was bloody heavy! A full size one although ideal in theory, would most probably negate any value!
Speed or protection?

No, surprisingly you have to get them from motorbike equipment shops.

Re: The Zombie thread
looking at your shopping list, that would take all day to trek around town.
Maybe we should open up a chain of shops Zombies R Us in case of the end.

Hey if you're going to defend yourself against the oncoming zombie hordes then do it right or don't do it at all.
