Straight feeds into the scrum Empty Straight feeds into the scrum

After watching a few games in the aviva and the NZ/SA and the current ARG/AUS game i've noticed that the scrum halves have gone back to feed the scrum through the second row.

I thought the refs were going to crack down on it with the new scrum laws?

Actually it is much worse - the refs are randomly pinging them for not straight - often when only mm out, yet other times being fed very skew and getting away with it.

A lot of this appears to be due to the scrums are not stable when the ref calls it so.

Once again the refs are not upholding nor enforcing the laws - probably because coaches are instructing their teams to shove early.

If the IRB wants these 'new' Laws to succeed, then they need apply a second shove of their own.

The refs need to take control of the scrums early in the game and enforce the laws consistently. Garner in the Bath vs Tigers game was all over the place, it was more of a lottery than before.
