I'm not doubting the news. TNA is shambolic at the moment.

The roster page still has Mickie listed as champion!

All TNA jibes aside, horrible news, she's been brilliant in her current heel run

Why would she leave? She's either;

a) Got an offer from WWE
or
b) Got an offer from a record company

Or c) Retiring.

If she's as into her music as she says then WWE wouldn't be good for her. The schedule there would limit her chances, unless she thinks Total Divas will give her more exposure?

Bad news for TNA, Mickie's been excellent since her heel turn. I'm guessing TNA's contract offer was along the same lines of the AJ Styles & Ken Anderson contract offers in that it was for less money than she's currently making.

What does that leave, 4 Knockouts? Maybe they could combine the Knockouts with the X-Division, there's a grand total of about 6 full time wrestlers between both divisions.

It seems like they're just releasing anyone who gets to the end of their contract. They are in a desperate state.

On the plus side, Hogan's contract expires soon...

I think TNA are in the financial mire here, if you're contract runs down they seemingly offer you a contract you're never likely to accept, both parties save face this way, the talent, particularly a locker leader will never accept a pay cut, history tells us that if you threaten the ego then they'll take their ball and leave...looks like TNA did this.

I think TNA have possibly came to the realisation, they chased the dream but it just hasn't worked put for them financially, im no expert on TNA finances but I'd be amazed if they were in the black, after 4 years of Hogan they should be booming, they're not though, the gravy train has to end sometime.

I'm no fan of womans wrestling, this isn't a WWE thing, I just cant emotionally invest into womans wrestling, its not for me so if TNA are losing more talent from that part of the show I personally couldn't care less, however, the Knock-Out division was something that made TNA stand out, it set them apart from other Wrestling promotions, so much time went into it from Scott D'Amore, the fact that they are now im a place where they seemingly lost their biggest star and best performer IMO without a fight has to be a big warning sign that things are pretty grim

I think with her outside music interests, freelancing might be profitable for James, she's a former WWE and TNA champion so will likely be in high demand in the US and Europe, possibly Japan as well, combine that with the opportunity to pick and choose her dates to coincide with her music career, it could be more tempting than taking a pay cut from TNA, don't think there's any hidden agenda behind it.
