Very good Dave!DAVE667 wrote:A warrior's word is a word forged in blood on the fields of battle and/or in the trenches depending on whether you prefer trench warfare or a straight up fight on the battlefield. Either way it doesn't matter cos a warrior like what Carl Froch is will fight in the trenches or on the battlefield because that's what warrior's do so it's a good job that's what Carl Frcoh is....a warrior!

It looks like you're were right Sean. Money is the root of all evil.
Rumours doing the rounds is Booth was on a 25% promoters fee and 10% as trainer. Groves wanted to self promote and just use Booth as a trainer apparently.
Being Groves big pay day I wouldn't blame him for wanting to maximise his profit. It's not as if Haye and Booth have been particularly honourable types themselves. Groves didn't lick it up off the street.

confirmed groves splits from booth
Absolute madness in my opinion, I can't think of a good enough reason for groves to let this happen , no amount of money can justify this decision, it takes years for a boxer to get to this level and the trainer plays a massive part in it, and booth has played a massive part in groves progression , there is no way groves beats froch now , I actually belive froch was slightly worried about the fact groves had booth in he's corner and what gameplan he would come up with,

Re: Groves and Booth Split
well, we don't know the ins and outs and if Groves has dropped Booth, I wouldn't think it is without very good reason. But it is very bad for Groves. He needed Booth to deflect some of the pressure, devise the gameplan and build his confidence. He looked like a school boy yesterday. Shame. Froch by KO inside 7

Re: Groves and Booth Split
I'll stick my neck out and pick Groves. Something about him says "winner". He's the better boxer than Froch. Better jab, better movement and more ability. Perhaps it is too soon for him but if he brings his A game he could win by decision. Only problem\is that he seems vulnerale and if Froch takes it to the trenches :)and shows the warrior grit he could maul and break Groves down by the halfway mark.
Good fight and I'm looking forward to it.

He doesn't fight any other way cos Carl Froch is a warrior who....ah, you all know the score.azania wrote:I'll stick my neck out and pick Groves. Something about says "winner". Bold prediction Az but I agree with youre reasoning as to why although I fear that Groves will come a cropper late on perhaps even leading by a couple of points. I certainly believe he'll give a good account of himself and whilst on the face of it, splitting with Booth may seems like another nail in the coffin, there's a certain amount of "steel" in Groves that makes me think he could go out and defy the odds.

Froch made me laugh at the press conference saying to Groves 'Your getting knocked out and you know it'

Re: Groves and Booth Split
Froch seems to be trying to goad George into a brawl (yes I know they'll be fighting November) as I think he's a tad worried that Groves' footwork, whilst not the greatest, will cause him problems.
When the fight was first announced he was blathering on about Groves running all night and not fighting and essentially (drum roll) not behaving like a warrior.

When you look at who he has fought and put Froch in with those people, then do you think Froch would look better against them?azania wrote:I'll stick my neck out and pick Groves. Something about him says "winner". He's the better boxer than Froch. Better jab, better movement and more ability.

I don't care it's a dud fight. Froch will win easy. Nothing to get my real interest in this fight.

Re: Groves and Booth Split
Kessler v Froch was good.
The heavyweights have always been my favourites and the fighters a tier below the Klitschko's facing each other should be good.
I always watch Khan's fights for obvious reasons.
Watching what GGG might do if he moves up to smw.
There are some good match ups at LHW particularly Kovalev. Can Bellew do something?
I am excited at the prospect of what two-time Olympian Vasyl Lomachenko might do?
Taking Floyd out of the equation then there are great fights at jww and ww.
Then there Rigondeaux. What will Donaire do about him?
That's just off the top of my head. There's loads going on.

Re: Groves and Booth Split
Just read interview from booth says it's nothing to do with money and he and George will not speak publicly about why they split, I belive it could be something to do with groves commitment , or lack of. When haye retired booth was only willing to train him again if he was willing to do what he said and train how booth wanted him to , or he just feels he is not showing enough commitment to beat froch , only conclusion I can think to why this has happened,

Maybe Booth slipped his bird one, or maybe his dad. I really can't tell which side he plays for. Maybe both.

Re: Groves and Booth Split
It could be a conflict of interest between Booth and Matchroom. Something along those lines happened with Carl Frampton leading to a split.
