Paul Hartley
See he has announced his retirement and his last game for the club will be away at Hibs on Saturday. Great deal of respect for him as he also tore up the remaining year of his contract. I personally feel he could have had a coaching role at the club but all the best to him anyway.

Re: Paul Hartley
If Neil Lennon stays at Celtic their is a coaching role for him at our development squad that would suit him better. Good player for us as well and should never have been allowed to leave.

Re: Paul Hartley
His legs had well and truly gone by the time he left, he was blowing out his arsenal at Hibs 2nd last game of the season when we threw the league away, he was done as was proven when he went to Bristol, we shoulda signed him 2 years earlier than we did

Re: Paul Hartley
bit harsh gaffer, considering most of the SPL teams would struggle against championship teams, only the old firm teams excell but they would still be given a run for their money against most championship teams.
Anyway as a Bristol City fan he had a really good season with us, hasn't been anyone since or a while before him too who could pick a pass and provide consistent delivery to our strikers as well as he could. He could give 70-75 good quality minutes and still be ok for the remaining 15. Anyway wish him all the best, hasn't he taken a job with some scottish league team?

Re: Paul Hartley
Yes Hodge he is now player manager with Alloa but he wants to concentrate more on managing than on playing.

Re: Paul Hartley
Haven't heard to much to be honest apart from what I heard in the local paper. Brown supposedly wants to take Rae back home but can't really see it with wages to be honest but then again we are getting rid of a lot of our top earners so may be interesting.

Re: Paul Hartley
I think guys like Rae hopefully realise that the money just isn't there, Langley would be a cracking signing, I heard a while ago that Garry O'Connor would sign a year contract at Aberdeen but cant see that happening now

I liked Hartley he was a decent player, wasn't shy on getting stuck in, good luck to him, i'm sure we'll see him involved in coaching/management in the future.

Re: Paul Hartley
I think he should have retired years ago, he was in appalling shape whilst at Celtic, like something out of the 70's.
Obviously the SPL is fairly Mickey Mouse, but he could have at least got himself in shape to play in it.

Re: Paul Hartley
Paul~ enjoyed watching you play for Hearts and good luck in the managment.
What is your take on Colin Calderwood at Hibs.
I know Colin from his Swindon days and always thought that he would make a great manager.
Interesting that both his latest bosses want him back.
I thought he was a big influence at Newcastle and when he left it all went a bit adrift.

Re: Paul Hartley
I really don't think Calderwood is cut out to be a manager. He has improved Hibernian very little in his time there and I think he would be much better going back down to England and joining Hughton at Birmingham.
Glad to see Hartley getting his chance at Alloa. He was a great player for us when he played, and it's refreshing to see that players are getting their opportunity to test themselves in management down in the lower leagues.

Re: Paul Hartley
I see Paul Hartley as a future Hibs manager, might be sooner than later.
Mind you, not many great players make great managers.

Re: Paul Hartley
I doubt Hibs would risk alienating the fans they have left by bringing in Hartley as manager, he let his destain for the club be public knowledge when he was putting them to the sword on a regular basis
