Many going to Thomond Park on Nov 9th?
OK, I know this is'nt the league board.
Not a huge fan myself, but looking at the fixtures we play Australia on this date in Limerick.
Just interested to know if any on here going and what sort of crowd will be there.
Read on the league board that 3 qualify from the group stages.
Fiji first up on the 28th is a must win.

Re: Many going to Thomond Park on Nov 9th?
Have been told by some keen league fans that we have a decent squad.
There are 9 players from the 2008 world cup have been selected.
Scrum half Liam Finn is captain.
Damien Blanch is one to look out for.
Marc Sneyd another.
There are a few guys who play down under.
A few that play in super league.
I would say most qualify through a family member.
Full squad:
Dave Allen, Luke Ambler, Bob Beswick, Damien Blanch, Danny Bridge, Ben Currie, Liam Finn, Simon Finnigan, Scott Grix, Simon Grix, Kurt Haggerty, James Hasson, Rory Kastasyn, Stuart Littler, Tyrone McCarthy, James Mendeika, Anthony Mullally, Eamon O'Carroll, Aprina Pewhairangi, Pat Richards, Colton Roche, Marc Sneyd, Joshua Toole, Brett White.

I suppose any if there was any good irish players they would just get snapped up by England, just like Brian Carney.

Carney played for Ireland.
I think you are getting confused because Carney also represented Great Britain, which is the representative team entered by B&I in most RL tournaments, bar the world cup.

That Great Britain team doesn't exist anymore from what I understand.
That team never represented the republic of Ireland. Carney once got into trouble because he refused to pose with a union jack for pictures after a game.

Really? OK - yeah no the point was that Irish players are eligible for GB in RL. Carney played for them and Ireland, not England.

I guess it's like Test Cricket with Irish players and England where you wouldn't have the opportunity to play at that level otherwise.
