thought i would start this , if you could pick the England using just the english players who you have at your club , who would you pick? plus you can include players who are either on loan currently or out on loan

How far down the pecking order of English central midfielders do you reckon Howson is? Seems to have been in great form so far this season, and I remember back in his early days at Leeds what a good technician he was. Given that all of Gerrard, Lampard and Carrick are the wrong side of 30 and that Wilshere and Barklay are both primarily attacking midfielders, there seems to be a spot or two open for younger 'box to box' type players.

I'd say he's quite far down the list Dummy tbh.

Last season I thought he'd breakout as our star, but he was played in a role that didn't suit his play and didn't really flourish until the final 2 months of the season.

This year he's been played further forward and as you say is in good form so far. He certainly seems to be establishing himself in the side. An England call up is obviously never out of the question, but you feel he'd have to do something pretty special to earn it. When people like Noble at West Ham, and Lallana at Saints can't get called up you wonder what it takes sometimes
