Fabulous Alive - what a beautiful song that is and very nicely performed. Pity its been hijacked, in Glasgow at least, by the wendyball morons.alive555 wrote:http://goo.gl/a3MkT5

So far the HEC has not been too bad for the Rabo sides when you consider the max points possible are 10 -:profitius wrote:Good day for the celts/rabo today.

I think most people would say that after a home game and an away game that 5pts is a reasonable outcome (home win, lbp away)

Where did Leinster get their extra 2 points from? We only scored 2 tries in total.ScarletSpiderman wrote:So far the HEC has not been too bad for the Rabo sides when you consider the max points possible are 10 -:profitius wrote:Good day for the celts/rabo today.

Who cares what league, country, bizarre cultural heritage claims their clubs/regions play in? As long as you win ( stand fast ospreys ) .This whole Celt thing grinds my gears. It's not the Middle Ages!

Just me then...lol. So the celts that met the Romans on the beaches of Kent were bussed in from west Wales, Scotland, Ireland?

No those celts go slaughtered and watered down more than those from the West and North. Oh, and never tell an Englishman (when their on a anti johny foreigner rant) that the English are technically foreigners and should return to France, Germany or Scandinavia, it really doesn't go down too well.Breadvan wrote:Just me then...lol. It's true, Cyril. The Celts aren't natives to these islands either, we just arrived earlier.

Re: for our celtic cousins good luck
The Celts that wot met the Romans hid for a good number of centuries and claimed to be Anglo-Saxons. But when it became sexy to be a Celt again - you know, the dark looks and running into battle in the nip ....they suddenly clamoured for their 'Celtic roots innit!' past.Breadvan wrote:Just me then...lol. They weren't too fond of thinking they had any during the bad ol' days of yore though, when the 'begorrah, begosh' men out west were viewed as a sub-species of man, lower on the scale than even them Neanthe..., Neon..., Neeand... - them hairy lads with the big brows.

So Connacht, Ulster, Leinster, Munster, Blues and Glasgow all won this weekend.
Scarlets drew.
Treviso, Zebre, Ospreys and Edinburgh lost.
Pretty good weekend for the Pro12.

I think of the ones that lost Os will be disappointed to still be 0pts and few accual points scored on the field.Notch wrote:So Connacht, Ulster, Leinster, Munster, Blues and Glasgow all won this weekend.

Treviso will be disappointed with how poor they have been having been beat twice easily.
Zebre will feel this one got away
Scarlets will be best pleased with 5 points considering they got zero last year

Re: for our celtic cousins good luck
I have found it goes down quite well with most of them. And anyone who may be upset (such as BNP/EDL deserves to be upset)ScarletSpiderman wrote:No those celts go slaughtered and watered down more than those from the West and North. Of course the Saxons drove the celts west and north, but were in turn driven west and north by the danes. Then the french arrived, followed by the dutch, the germans, the Jamaicans and the Bengalis.
There is probably no more celtic blood in a resident of Wales and Scotland than there is in England. In fact the only real repository for celticness is some of those strange villages in Cornwall.
I do find rampant, patriotic nationalism a funny thing - and often very confused. Once served with a guy who would rail at the unfairness of having to serve in "Englands" Army - being a true and patriotic scot. He would castigate all and sundry for the crimes committed against his ancestors at Glencoe and Culloden. His name escapes me now, other than Carlo, but his father was an Italian POW and his mother an English Land Girl both of whom were "incarcerated" in Scotland.

I thought the latest thinking was that most Celts stayed put and made the best of things. Let's be honest, that's much less hassle than upping sticks.VietGwentRevisited wrote:Of course the Saxons drove the celts west and north

Re: for our celtic cousins good luck
Churchill didn't find "rampant, patriotic nationalism" a funny thing when he used it to declare he wouldn't awfully like very much to become part of Hitler's Greater Europe of Happy Unity. Where maidens with Princess Leia hairdos would give birth to beautiful children and robust men would take long healthy walks in the hills and occasionally slap the sides of their lederhosen.
Churchill didn't seem to like that idea that "We're all the one, for God's sake, now let's get along under one roof and one Furher"

Well yeah, but those were the "little" people. History (tm Michael Gove) only cares about kings and lords and stuff and the battles that makes them move. It is the horrible things like famine and plague that actually makes us small folks move.Luckless Pedestrian wrote:I thought the latest thinking was that most Celts stayed put and made the best of things. You're forgetting another horrible thing that makes people move: work, or the lack of it.

I considered that (was the main reason I moved and why my children & grandchildren view themselves as English) but viewed that as economic famine - ie without work your family starve.Luckless Pedestrian wrote:You're forgetting another horrible thing that makes people move: work, or the lack of it.

You're so good, Schizoid, that you've already been automatically signed to the New Champions Cup...making your presence in this old HC null and void.
Congratulations! Hope we get to follow you over there when the negotiations are finished.

Only because it would have been in direct competition with Winston's own view of imperialistic happy unity...SecretFly wrote:Churchill didn't find "rampant, patriotic nationalism" a funny thing when he used it to declare he wouldn't awfully like very much to become part of Hitler's Greater Europe of Happy Unity. Right, that is the updated table, featuring all the teams, and also featuring the correct scores, no excuses for the man-sausage up I posted before.
Anyhow the general point was the teams bar the Italians (and the Os have Tibaldi so they can be classed as Italian yeah?) are not doing bad, as the general acceptable points for right now are 4/5+ (1 win and maybe a bp, or more)
