ULTIMATE X FOR THE X-DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP
JEFF HARDY vs. AUSTIN ARIES vs. CHRIS SABIN vs. SAMOA JOE vs. MANIK (c)
The crowd is very pro-Aries. They were chanting his name before the show even began. The ring clears to start things off, with Joe and Sabin going at it alone in the ring. Manik joins the fight and locks in the Deathlock on Sabin, until Aries comes in and nails him with a suplex. Jeff Hardy wastes little time in getting a ladder, but Joe suicide dives through the ropes and takes him out. Aries takes them all out before posing on the top rope, much to the delight of the fans.
Manik hits a pretty sweet double team headscissors on Sabin and Aries, before tossing Chris to the outside. Aries starts dropkicking everyone. He tries to get Joe up for the Brainbuster, but winds up in a Rear Naked Choke. Hardy with Whisper in the Wind on Sabin; a couple fans actually boo him. A ladder gets set up in the ring, and Sabin knocks it down, sending Manik and Aries into the ropes. Sabin forces Velvet Sky into the ring, telling her to go get the title. She distracts Hardy long enough for Sabin to scale a ladder and grab the title for the win.
WINNER AND NEW CHAMPION: CHRIS SABIN
Christopher Daniels and Kazarian come out and talk about how they should be fighting for the tag titles tonight, and the fact that they aren't is an embarrassment. Yup. Daniels says BFG is a celebration of TNA, and they ARE TNA. He says TNA likes to throw swerves, and demands that they be added to the title match tonight. Out comes Eric Young, who tells Bad Influence that earlier tonight they created a "monster". They attack EY, and Abyss comes to his rescue, taking out Daniels and Kaz with clotheslines. Black Hole Slam on Daniels. Black Hole Slam on Kazarian.

Gunner gets distracted by a double team, and Robbie E makes the tag for his team and stomps away at the champ in the corner. ODB with the Bronco Buster on Brooke, but Gail Kim breaks it up. Brooke throws Gail from the ring and hits a face plant on ODB for a close two-count. Roode refuses to tap, and after about a minute he appears to be completely passed out. The ref raises his hand, and Roode's hand falls on the bottom rope. Very weird segment, with the crowd chanting "cowpat" - pretty sure it wasn't intentional, just bad ref work. Once again they fight up to the top rope, and Kurt hits the Angle Slam off the top rope. Roode barely makes it up for a ten count, and falls on Kurt for the 1-2-3.
WINNER: BOBBY ROODE

The Icon tries for another Stinger Splash, but The Brit catches him with an uppercut and hits the Scorpion Death Drop! Magnus up to the top rope, and comes down with a flying elbow for a very close two-count. He tries for it again, but Sting rolls out of the way. TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
AJ STYLES vs. BULLY RAY (c)
Bully Ray taunts his opponent, telling AJ he doesn't belong in the ring because he's afriad. They lock up, and Bully hits him with a huge body slam. The lock up again and the champion has a wrist lock in, tossing Styles around the ring with ease. He goes back into the wrist lock, but AJ kips out of it, only to get turned inside-out with a clothesline. The crowd sets in with a big "AJ Stylse" chant, and AJ comes back with a big right hand, followed by a running dropkick to pop the fans. The Calf Killer is locked in on CalfZilla, but Garrett Bischoff runs down to the ring to distract him.
AJ goes out to meet him on the ramp, and Bully Ray has a hammer in the ring. Bischoff backs down and leaves the ringside area, and Bully swings with the hammer; Styles kicks it out of his hands and picks it up. Bully chops him hard, and the hammer remains at ringside for the time being.
Bully throws a right hand, but AJ shakes it off and begs him for another. Styles goes crazy in the corner with rights and lefts, and follows that up with a baseball slide to the knees to take the big man off his feet. Here comes Knux, who comes down and gets in the ring. Styles flies off the top and gets caught with a chokeslam. Bully Ray makes the cover, but AJ kicks out before three. Bully Ray accidentally takes out Knux with a clothesline and Styles get a roll-up for another close count.
The action spills to the floor as the crowd starts a massive "we want tables" chant. Bully grabs the hammer again, but Styles gets an enzugiri out of nowhere that knocks him out. AJ grabs the hammer, but throws it down and puts him on top of the table instead. Styles goes back into the ring and springboards off the top rope with a 450 splash, but Bully moves and AJ's entire body goes through the table. BRUTAL SPOT.
Taz gives Bully Ray a blade, and the champ cuts the ring apron and starts to destroy the ring. He takes all the padding off and exposes the wood boards underneath. Bully calls to the back to "send them out", and Dixie Carter slowly makes her way to the ring. She takes a chair from security and gives it to Bully Ray, but AJ STyles springboards off the top rope and takes him out. Springboard 450, and this time it connects. Earl goes to make the count, but Dixie Carter starts to threaten him. Bully Ray kicks out.
AJ can't figure out what to do, so he tries for the Styles Clash, but Bully throws him off with a big back body drop into the wood. Bully goes up to the top rope and hits a splash for a two-count. The champ uses the steel chair across AJ's back, twice. Bully goes for a powerbomb on the wood, but AJ floats over and hits the Pele Kick. Styles uses the chair off the head of the world champion, and once again he heads up to the top rope. SPIRAL TAP! 1...2...3.
WINNER AND NEW CHAMPION: AJ STYLES

Its good to see titles change hands.
Good to see Magnus winning.
Him v AJ would be good for the belt.
Not seen TNA for a while, bit out of touch, will have to catch up.

Re: TNA Bound For Glory Results - Spoilers ahead
Stayed up to watch this last night,
X Division match, I don't think this match could possibly have lived up to the expectations I had in my head, based on the calibre of guys in here, I don't think it was there fault, but 5 was maybe too many guys and it fell into a MITB style of spot/sell, there were some great spots though with Manik the star of the match in illustrious company, though at one point I saw him standing on the apron watching Joe and Aries waiting for his spot, which was a bit sloppy, finish was an anti-climax after the high octane action, took me a few seconds to even realise it was over, This match won't live too long in the memory IMO but an enjoyable opener all the same- 7/10
Tag Title match- Remember when the TNA tag division was the envy of the world? what can I say, after hearing that Bro Mans had won the pre show I kind of expected them to go the whole hog seeing as Gunner and Storm have been so inconsequential over the past few months, I felt nothing for this match, all though I quite like Robbie E and the way the two celebrated in the ring and backstage later, it really felt like the title meant something- 3/10
Knockouts Title- More enjoyable than the previous match, all 3 girls looked good, though it was all about the interference at the end, spot of the match Tapa's brutal powerbomb on Brooke into the ring, decent match and result of the night, but what does this mean for the knockouts division going forward, 3 of the 4 are heel, 2 of those 3 are allies, and the one babyface just got KTFO with a big boot, pleased that Kim is champion once again though, one of the greatest US female workers ever- 5/10
Bobby vs Kurt- Match of the night for my money, psychology and storytelling was very well done and both guys were on top form, Kurt Angle was back to his physical, mental and spiritual best, some of the submission reversals were superb, I think they let Vince Russo book the finish though, the worlds most subtle rope grab from Roode followed by master technician Angle, KO'ing himself with a top rope slam, luckily the TNA commentators (who get a fair slating) were able to explain and make sense of what was going on, people watching live must have been going mad though, lastly as a medical man, it drove me insane how long it took for the ref to check and get help for Angle, the man was clearly in serious trouble but the ref was more interested in half arse-edly lifting Roode's arm than calling for help, really took me out of the moment, still MOTN for me- 8/10
EC3 debut- not to fussed about this tbh, was an easy way to pad out time and soak up the crowd death spot following such a big match, plus a high card debut for a guy who's gimmick suggests TNA will have big plans for in the near future, didn't see anything special, it was hardly a Goldberg squash but it was there and did its thing- 2/10
Magnus vs Sting- not much to say here, average fare from both, glad to see Magnus get the win and in traditional TNA booking, as a babyface finally scores his defining win of course a heel turn must be on the horizion, my guess is Sting wins a return at Genesis- 5/10
Main Event- Incredibly disjointed match, firstly the positives, it started out well, with Borash (the most underappreciated man in TNA) giving a big fight feel with his intros, some of Bully's verbal trash talk and character work at the start was very good as well, and the match was always much better when wrestled at Styles pace, threatening even to be exciting in places, still there was a lot of negative as well, the pace set by Bully was, as often in a lot of his matches, pretty dull, the interference spots were silly, why Garrett and Knux a) came out separately and b) after taking fairly tame bumps wandered to the back and, seemingly content with their nights work, were never seen again, was mystifying, the Bully bare ring spot has been done to death at this stage and never elicited any emotion from me, also when Styles finally grabbed the win and lifted TNA gold against all the odds, he still managed to be out emoted by Dixie, Bro Mans showed earlier in the night what gold should mean, not a smug grin and hugging a few fans,
The match had its ups and downs all told but given the status of this match and that it came at what is (apparently) the climax of the year and a half long A&8's storyline, my overall feeling was not impressed, should be interesting to see where they go from here I suppose- 3/10
Overall thoughts- A mixed bag from TNA, two very good matches in the X Division and Angle/Roode matches, some decent stuff from the knockouts and Magnus/Sting but a fair amount of crap as well, can't believe Kazaniels were reduced to a promo after looking the only logical choices to leave with the belts at the end of the night, plus Abyss is back
Final Rating- 4.5/10

Good to hear from you Dr G since you actually watched it, having just read the spoilers I'd say the only consolation is that almost everything was booked the right way, what's the deal with Kazanils though? Seems bonkers that they weren't booked, highlights all that's wrong with TNA's booking.
How did the walk out of Magnus/Sting come about? Seems strange he'd walk after such a big win, you'd think he'd be on top of the World, surely if he was to become big headed you'd think that would be the slow burner with this win as the foundation of it.

Re: TNA Bound For Glory Results - Spoilers ahead
It was quite subtly done, after his win he hit all 4 corners to pose, on I think it was the 3rd corner Sting tried to get his attention to congratulate him, he ignored him and carried on to the 4th corner, when he turned around he saw Sting, gave him a very brief handshake and went to the back still celebrating a full of himself.
It was quite well done, just seems bizarre they'd give their hot young babyface a heel turn right after a clean defining win over a legend.

Cheers
I don't quite get it, if he is suddenly big headed then I can see that but I'd have hoped they would have learnt their lessons with the Bobby Roode heel turn from Fortune, I'd like to see Magnus if they go down that rout go down the slow burner rout instead of the instant chip on his shoulder

If they do go down that route with Magnus then it makes zero sense, as only a few weeks ago he was routinely down on himself and making out he was a weak link in the Main Event Mafia (are they still going by the way?). All of a sudden he gets one win over Sting and he thinks he's the bog's dollocks?

Maybe this means they're going to send him after AJ Styles once AJ's done with Bully Ray and Magnus is done with Sting & the Main Event Mafia?
I reckon Magnus will turn his back on the MEM and eventually side with Dixie Carter, given how she's always harping on about how Magnus is the future of the business and how gorgeous he is.

So it'll be Vickie and Dolph revisited whilst AJ Styles continues his best impression of CM Punk after MITB by taking the title away from the company.

That wouldn't be a bad thing, WWE could have had a truly epic story on their hands but rushed the lot, with TNA's more unorthodox approach tjey cpuld actually make something like this workHero wrote:So it'll be Vickie and Dolph revisited whilst AJ Styles continues his best impression of CM Punk after MITB by taking the title away from the company.

From the dirt sheets the plan is for him to appear over in Japan at least with the deal they've got with Muta.

Re: TNA Bound For Glory Results - Spoilers ahead
The problem is that using each others ideas is a one way street with WWE and TNA.
If TNA steal an idea from WWE, its common knowledge as 99% of the TNA fans will also have an interest in WWE.
However, 90% of the WWE audience dont even know TNA exists and therefore everything is deemed original.
Not a compaint about either company but just sadly a fact.
Anyway, there are only a handful of ideas which are just regurgitated every so often - nothing is that original anymore.

Re: TNA Bound For Glory Results - Spoilers ahead
First PPV I've stayed up to watch in its entirety...helped that they moved it forward in the schedule to 9:00.
Tag Team Title Match
A bit odd from the off, being a gauntlet style match. Would have been happy for Storm and Gunner to retain their belts. Can't believe they dropped them to Bromance! Although that will give future matches added interest as fans will no doubt be hoping them get beat. Would have been okay with Chavo & Hernandez regaining the title and positively happy if Bad Influence had won as Kazaniels are by far the best team in terms of combined ability and in-ring presence. Given all the work they've put in they deserved another title run. Don't know what it is, but Eric Young and Joseph Park just don't work for me as a tag team. Actually, JP doesn't work for me as a tag wrestler, full stop. He's just way too timid until someone makes him bleed, so you know he's just gonna get beaten up until that happens. Not really very interesting.
Ultimate X Match
Was actually pretty good in places...some ridiculous high-risk moves going on, though I thought Joe and Hardy looked out of place...too big and cumbersome among their smaller, more agile X Division counterparts. For me, Aries and Manik were the stars of this match. Thought Sabin was doing pretty well too until the botched ending. Seriously! Who thought that was a good way to end the match? In a 1-on-1 match, interference and a screwy ending may be okay, but when you've already got 5 wrestlers in the ring, the last thing you need is another person providing a distraction. Sabin had already turned heel, so why couldn't he have done something on his own? Anyway, while it lasted it was highly entertaining.
Knockouts Title Match
Pretty good until it was interrupted by Tapa. For God's sake TNA - you don't have to use this tactic for practically every match...it gets boring after a while! I thought Brooke and Gail Kim were putting on a good show by themselves. If they wanted to show Kim and Tapa had formed some sort of alliance, they should have done it before the PPV. Better yet, why not get Tapa involved in some matches of her own, instead of just interfering?
Bobby Roode vs Kurt Angle
The match of the night...epic and brutal with numerous submission attempts. I was completely absorbed by this one...until yet again they decided to have a screwy ending with Angle apparently knocking himself unconscious attempting a leap with Roode off the ropes. Roode then somehow manages to get up and fall on top of Angle to get the "pin". Utterly rubbish ending to a brilliant match. All the work by the medics in the ring to attend to Kurt was rendered total nonsense when he got off the gurney and made his way backstage under his own power.
EC3 Debut
Largely total nonsense, but at least his laughably skinny, mismatched opponent (Norv somethingorother) provided some laughs as he did his best to make EC look a mug. Almost what you'd call a "squash" match I suppose.
Magnus vs Sting
An okay match, but I got the feeling Magnus was going easy on his elderly opponent. He was nowhere near as physical as he has been in other matches (against Samoa Joe, or A&E for example). As I said before, if Sting had been built up into a superbad, Undertaker-type character, his win would have been far more impressive. Instead it just came off as a filler match. About the only interesting thing to come out of this was the way he blew off Sting's offered handshake at the end. Coupled with his angrier character of late, could he be about to turn heel?
Heavyweight Title Match (Bully Ray vs AJ Styles)
Sadly, not as great as the hype and build-up would have us believe. I think this is partly due to the contestants very different...ahem...styles. On the one hand you've got the fast, high-risk stuff from AJ, which is very much at odds with Bully Ray's slow, methodical approach and meant the match was very 2-paced. Fast and furious when AJ was on the attack, but slowed to a crawl when Bully was on top.
Most spectacular moment was Styles' jump off the ropes, straight into the broadcast table, completely smashing it (reminded me of Shane McMahon doing the same thing in the match with his father).
The intervention by Knux and Bischoff seemed very half-hearted and pretty pointless, although the introduction of the hammer did give the audience reason to fret. In the end it never came into play.
Clever twist when Dixie came out and ordered the ref not to count when Styles had Bully pinned at one point. Nice bit of drama there.
Bully uncovering the ring was a nice touch, given the "no DQ" nature of the match, but its been done before, so wasn't really much of a surprise. About the only match of the night to have a good finish, with Bully taking a chair to the head, before AJ finished with a trademark Spiral Tap.
Overall, a night of good matches, spoiled by crappy finishes, culminating in a patchy main event that was redeemed by a good finish, though I have to agree with an earlier poster, that Styles didn't manage to look nearly elated enough for a man who would have been kicked out of the company, had he lost and who had just completed Part 1 of his payback plan against the boss.
