Giuseppe Rossi all the way baby, a great hat-trick against the Old Lady and top of the Serie A scorers charts. That third goal was a beautiful take too.

Don't want Pulis, can see why he is in the frame as he did a solid job and we do need someone who is solid and consistent..especially with an ability to turn Riverside into a fortress...however with that being said the fans (what's left of them) also don't want the dark ages of Strachan football back on Teeside. It is the reason many fans stopped coming and they haven't come back.. a mixture of a lack of faith as well as being a club in an impoverished area.
O'Neil didn't do so well in his last job and with that being Sunderland I can why some wouldn't want him...however he does have a proven track record at both Villa and Leicester...where he had a knack of getting both teams punching above their weight.
Other names linked are Roy Keane, Nigel Clough, Alex McLeish ...of which I would only want Clough and their are a few I would take even before him to be honest.
Lots of former players being linked but Gibson will want experience so rule out silly bookies names such as Hasselbaink, Ravanelli & the like (though would be a dream to see them back at the Riverside).
3 names that stand out to me and I personally think would be good choices are: Karl Robinson, Chris Powell, Eddie Howe
Think all 3 whilst slightly untested would be good options and more importantly realistic. They would be relatively cheap, have worked with youngsters and on a budget. 3 traits vital for the Boro manager role.
Lets face it though there are plenty of choices out there for Gibson not to get it wrong and hire the likes of Pulis, McLeish, Souness, Warnock!!
O'Neil
Di Matteo
Curbishley
Di Canio
All without clubs....an outside bet though...Mike Phelan or Souness!
