Leinster vs Connacht
Big game for individuals rather than the team, as it is the last chance to impress Joe prior to the Autumn Internationals.
Connacht are coming off the back of a good win but have massive injury concerns. Leinster are top of their HCup group but are looking ropey so far this season. Expecting a healthy Leinster win.
Possible home team:
McGrath-Dundon-Moore
Toner-Roux
Ruddock-Murphy-Ryan
Reddan-Madigan
?-Macken
Fitzgerald-Kirchner-Kearney

Re: Leinster vs Connacht
Murphy is injured. Jennings is back but he probably won't start so I think it'll be Ruddock, Ryan, Heaslip.
I'd like to see McFadden at 12.
Pretty good 2nd team, should win.

Good team but we'll have trouble claiming Kirchner as Irish qualified....

Re: Leinster vs Connacht
We seem to be missing quite a few centres at the moment, no andrew goodman either which is a pain. Thought Murphy was ok but glad Jenno is on the way back at least.

Re: Leinster vs Connacht
When did Leinster and Connacht achieve "nation" status??
Where does that leave Munster and Ulster???
Well ...just Munster actually as 2/3 of Ulster is kinda a nation already but not in rugby terms. Will Munster and NI go it alone too leaving Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal adrift??? What about our Tommy??? Who will he play for in internationals??? Will each of these now have separate Unions and so be entitled to 6 HEC spots????
This development raises so many issues! I'm surprised it didn't warrant a thread of it's own!
What....?
It's just in the wrong section???
PHEW!!!!
Panic over!!
As you were lads!

Re: Leinster vs Connacht
I'd have thought that Toner and Moore would both get a rest. Give Bent a start and let him earn his wage. Toner has played plenty of games (I think he has) so maybe Denton & Roux or McCarthy & Roux.
What's the line on ex-connacht players lining out? I'd like that spice added to the fixture so starts for Cronin and McCarthy actually.

Re: Leinster vs Connacht
Well in my defense, this one was originally in the wrong section
Here's the team I'd go for:
McGrath - Cronin - Moore
Toner - Roux
Ruddock - O'Brien - Jennings
Reddan - Madigan
Fitzgerald - McFadden - Macken - Tiquri
Kirchener
Dundon - Healy - Bent - McCarthy - Ryan - Cooney - Gopperth - D.Kearney

Still makes sense Mick. Even in this rival thread.
Might have Tuqiri on the bench if I am being hyper critical.

To paraphrase Homer Simpson:
Well, a short term signing is like a Rent-A-Car, son: get all the mileage you can, then ball it up and cram it into the mail slot.
