V
Sunderland
Team Sheet:
Injuries: N/A
Tactics:
GK: Control the defence, stay vocal and make sure the back four stay in position, when dealing with crosses catch the ball and only make quick releases when you see an opening.
CB's: Stay strong and man mark strikers, force them to play on their weaker foot and stay between them and the goal. Don't be afraid to blast the ball up the pitch when defending in your own half, look for our striker/CM or Wingers
FB's: Support our wingers when attacking but don't risk being out of position, the key is to get the ball forward
Midfield (General): Stay in triangles, passing around the opposition, do not be afraid to pass back and regroup
Midfield (Wingers): Get the ball in to the box hitting crosses early and teaming with the Fullbacks for support, when openings appear then drift in to the centre of the park but do not make a habit of doing this, only do it when it's a clear chance
Midfield Attacking: Support Striker and move up with him, when chances arise take long shots, work with the Wingers to get past players
Striker: Play on the shoulder of the last man, if possible drag CB out of position to allow AM to get in to an attacking position

Attacking in their area | Instructions: Attacking Midfielder to join Striker in attack and the more attack minded CM to take his place backing them up, to ensure defence is still strong, the more defensive CM will drop back in to a DM position and the LB and RB will push forward looking to support the LW and RW in getting the ball in to the box. |
Defending in own half | Instructions: Both CM's to drop back in to a DM position while the AM becomes the centre of our midfield, our striker to stay up top and wait for any long ball/counter attack to take place, only dropping back when entirely necessary. Both Wingers to move in and help our CM (AM) in midfield, once the ball is back in our position all players to move back to their normal role. Park the bus! |

Snodgrass----Sidwell ----Kasami ----Dempsey
--------------------Berbatov
----------------Adebayor -- Bent
Bench: Stockdale/Senderos/Riise/Karagounis/Duff/Rodallega/Taarabt
Team Talk: Opening against a strong Stoke so going to attack their wings as the full backs are great and use our attacking power 3
Stekelenburg - Sweep up balls knocked in behind & look to come for crosses
Back 3 - Amorebieta to pick up main forward, Reither/Lescott to pick up the AM or winger in there territory
Wingers: Look to take on the full backs and whip the ball in, You can both cut inside if need be
Sidwell - sit and marshall infront of defense,
Kasami - make runs forward and get on edge of box although remember your defensive duties
Berbatov - Sit in gap between defense/midfield and look to create for the forwards
Adebayor - Bully shawcross use your physical presence to dominate him
Bent - Make runs in behind Huth to give Berbatov an option look to finish clinically
Subs: Taarabt for Dempsey after 70 mins - Karagounis on for Kasami after 65 minutes
V
Stoke
--------------------Begovic------------------
Cameron---Shawcross (c) ---Huth--------Pieters
---------------N'Zonzi---Palacios----------------
Pennant----------Arnautovic----------Shea
-------------------Benzia-------------------
Subs: Sorenson, Wilson, Muniesa, Ireland, Etherington, Jones, Crouch.
Injuries: There are no Injuries this week.
Tactics:
Overall team talk: The plan for today is to pass with pace, movement off the ball could be key aswell.
Goalkeeper: I would like you to try to play short passes when you can which will help us to keep possession as much as we can and try to claim crosses and corners.
Defenders: Shawcross and Huth - Try to play the ball out from the back into midfield as much as you can and clear your lines when it is required.
Cameron and Pieters - Use the width when you need to and provide support in attack when you can.
Midfielders: N'Zonzi and Palacios - I would like you to try and play the passes into Arnautovic to create attacks and i would also like you to try and provide a defensive screen to help the defence. Try to use the width of the pitch to help with the attacks aswell.
Arnautovic: You are playing the number 10 role today and i would like you to drop deep at times to draw the oppositions defence out to provide space for you to play the passes through to Benzia who will be making runs.
Striker: Benzia - I have picked you to play up front on your own today, if you find yourself with the ball in the oppositions half try to hold the ball up and wait for the support. Try to make runs in behind the oppositions defence which will allow the rest of the team to play passes into you.

Re: Fixture List & Results
Cardiff v Aston Villa
Marshall
McNaughton Theophile Caulker Hudson Taylor
Medel Mutch
Odemwingie Campbell Bellamy
BENCH
Lewis
Brayford
Turner
Kim Bo Kung
Cowie
Maynard
Cornelius
TACTICS
We are going to make it impossible for them to score today with a strong back five and two combative midfielders just in front. We have a team of hardworking individuals and shutting them out is the main aim, but we do have a decent attacking threat with inside forwards playing today.
DEFENSE
- Strong back five with captain Hudson leading at the back. Deep line to make sure they have no room to play in.
- Benteke should be quickly closed down, don't man mark as such, ensure positions are right but the closest defender get to him.
- Ben Arfa and Ince/Agbonlahor will be their wide men, show them onto their weaker foot, especially Ben Arfa and make them go wide.
- Medel and Mutch should patrol the area in front of the back four and be physical, flying in with tackles.
ATTACK
- Campbell is good in the air and should try to hold up the play when possible, and win headers for the other forwards.
- Bellamy and Odemwingie are inside forwards and should get narrow exploiting the space between full back and centre back.
- Mutch should be a little more aggressive and get forward a bit more, but ensure he can get back.
- The two full backs are experienced enough to know when to get forward and when to stay. Be sensible as we must not concede.
- Try to win set pieces as we can ask them some serious questions there.
V
-------------Guzan---------
Lowton---Vlaar---Clark---Bennett
------El Ahmadi--Bacuna
Weimann---Ben Arfa----Ince
-----------Benteke-------
Subs - Given, Collins, Baker, Westwood, N'Zogbia, Albrighton, Agbonlahor
GK - Strong in air, clear lines quickly with quick ball to winger dropping back, close down attacks quick
Def - Watch for runs in behind, keep good line, clear lines quick when win ball, play ball through midfield and to wingers
CDM - 2 should be more than enough to help cover defence, win second balls, be strong in tackles, spread play to wings
AM - Take on LB & RB get to line & cross to Benteke, Ben Arfa in free role to link up play & play through balls & shoot from distance
ST - Take on Def in air for headers from crosses, link up 1/2s with Ben Arfa, look to get past shoulder of Def for through balls. Shoot on sight.

West Ham v Newcastle
Newcastle tactics
------------------------Forster----------------------
Debuchy------Reid------Coloccini----------Santon
---------------Sissoko---Cabaye-------------------
Volland---------------Morrison---------------Remy
-----------------------Gomis---------------------
Subs: Krul, Yanga-Mbiwa, Anita, Delph, Zaha, Ayew, Carroll
Team - Really wish to make a statement in the opening game so looking for the team to really crank up the pressure in intense bursts, the intelligence and movement of our attacking options should pull apart their back line.
GK - Instruct the defence early, communicate with them, ensure they know their roles and that you make yourself big , look to move the ball out quickly to our flanks to instigate counters.
FBs - Keep the wingers on the flanks and stay on your feet, look to block crosses, work the flanks on counters and double up with Volland/Remy
CBs - Colo to be the enforcer on their main striker, keeping goalside and timing tackles with Reid to patrol for a number ten linking up or wingers coming infield
CMs - Cabaye to play as DLP (deep lying playmaker), dictate the flow of the game, crank up the gears in periods of pressure, slow it down if they're in the ascendency, Sissoko to play B2B (box to box) hang back and break up play and then rampage through the middle.
WGs - Both hugely inform players, alternate between going down the flanks for a cross and coming inside and cracking one from distance, double up with our FBs down the sides and protect them when needed
AM - Bad boy, bad boy what'ya gonna do? Tear up your old team thats what! Look to link up play with Gomis and time balls past their back line
ST - Drag your marker with you out of place allowing space to open up, if Morrison has the ball look to time runs past the defence into the box
Subs - 70m - Carroll, Zaha & Ayew for Volland, Remy & Gomis - Straight swap for positions, use the fresh pace down the flanks to beat on the outside and the physical presence of Carroll to meet the crosses.

- Playing Norwich today boys, so we're going to look to attack the weak fullback area, and dominate the midfield to cut off the supply to their off form strikers. Then we shall break on the counter attack with our creative players, and their quickness
- Defensively I want us to keep the line deep, don't allow them to get in behind us as we lack pace. Yacob and Mulumbu I want you two to screen the back four, breaking up their attacks keeping an eye on Howson/Fer running from deep. Then I want you to get the ball into Sessegnon/Amalfitano/Berahino as quickly as possible as we look to counter.
- Foster be commanding and aware of crosses coming into the box, which McAuley and Olsson should win all day against their strikers anyways
- In attack I want us to play swift cutting passes, looking to get Long in behind their CB's who he shall outpace everytime. Sessegnon to be the main creator. Berahino can cause Martin/Whittaker all sorts of problems.
- Also paramount the wingers get back and help our fullbacks as there main threat will look to come from out wide (if they have any sense)

Goalkeeper - Rumours have it Roy Hodgson is the crowd today, you're up against Ben Foster a competitor for England, prove you have what it takes to be England's number one. But don't forget you're basics but commanding you're area at all times and being vocal for the full 90 minutes.
Defenders - Center backs i want you to man mark there strikers and not allowing them room to breve. Full backs you both have plenty of pace to mark there defenders, block there crosses. Were going to start of with a deep line today, playing short passes from the back to frustrate West Brom and make them work.
Midfielders - Scotty and Alex i want you both to sit. Not allowing West Brom to get us on the break and by making it hard for them to create chances and score. Look to get the ball out wide, also by feeding Wolfswinkel. Leroy i want you to get forward and play off Wolfswinkel, but not getting too carried away and making sure you do the defending as well. Wingers you can murder there full backs with you're pace, we will look for Nathan to take his full back on and for Pilkington to cross the ball a lot, but also to attack there area as well. Both of you with a lot of tracking back.
Striker - On you're toes the whole game, when getting the ball to feet, look to play it out wide, when receiving the ball to chest, take a touch and play it to Leroy, always make you're self a nonsense in the area, throw you're weight around.

West Brom will look to come at us, they have a packed crowd today. Lets look to frustrate them early on. Playing the ball on the floor. Short and patience build up, but play direct when we have to. Lets not have any comical defending, we have a superb defense and lets show people what you're made of. When going forward, lets not get carried away and leave gaps. Re: Fixture List & Results
- WEEK ONE RESULTS:
West Ham vs Newcastle
These two teams came out with it seemingly a mismatch on paper with Newcastle having probably the strongest side in the league and an experienced manager with CF having sold the top West Ham players without any replacements being brought in and a controversial managerial history. But the game started surprisingly with West Ham having the stronger start to the game with Diame dispossessing Cabaye and running with the ball and feeding Joe Cole who took a shot from range but Forster tipped the ball round the post for a corner. West Ham were playing well and Cisse missed a big chance to open the scoring after the half hour mark when he evaded Coloccini but blasted wide. Newcastle had one moment in the first half and it was good play from Remy on the left wing, beating Demel and charging into the box before being hacked down by Tomkins, but it wasn't a penalty as the home fans breathed a sigh of relief. Newcastle were getting more and more into the game and in the second half it was Morrison who won the ball high up the pitch and made a great run forward but instead of squaring to Volland who was screaming for the ball he went for glory and Jaaskelainen was able to make the save. Further chances came when Gomis beat Taylor in the air and got his header on target but it was saved, and when Debuchy tried a shot from range which went inches wide. It was injury time and the scores were still level. Cabaye had a potshot at goal from way out but it was deflected wide by Noble. The resulting corner had everyone up for Newcastle, leading to the danger of a counter attack. Cabaye took the corner himself and Collocini burst into the box to meet the ball and get it past a despondent Jaaskalinen, flicking off the post and in to give Newcastle a late, late win.
West Ham 0-1 Newcastle
Coloccini 90+4
Tactical Analysis (by Lee Dixon)
West Ham came and put in a good performance today, they made things very difficult for Newcastle to play but in the end the extra quality present in the Newcastle side, along with their ability out wide which West Ham struggled a little with, gave the away side a win in a very tight game.
Crystal Palace vs Sunderland
In this early season game, Crystal Palace started very brightly with new signing Hughes running the midfield but against the run of play, Emanuele Giaccharini managed to score a goal out of nothing, with a long ball played forward by Cavanda which found Fletcher who fed the Italian to open the scoring. Crystal Palace believed they could get back into the game and responded well when Hunt made an overlapping run past Lee, drawing Fabio out of position and allowing the Korean to take a first time shot into the back of net to equalize just before the half hour mark. Sunderland had a couple of chances to get back in front but had their best just before half time when Downing crossed the ball in and Fletcher failed to connect when any contact would have lead to a goal. Sunderland were on the front foot and this continued in the second half, with them eventually getting the goal they deserved. Adam Johnson made a fantastic run down the right and played the ball into the box. Clever movement from Fletcher gave Ruiz space in the box to stick away a goal giving Sunderland the lead. There was time for Palace to get back into the game though and it was substitute Chamakh who had a big chance in injury time when Parr made a great run and cross into the box. Chamakh beat O'Shea in the air and set his header low but Vorm was there to make a brilliant save giving Sunderland the three points.
Tactical Analysis (by Alan Shearer)
The Sunderland manager seemed to give his players a bit of a tactical overload before the game, but they have some good players going forward with the likes of Adam Johnson and Bryan Ruiz impressing. The Crystal Palace defense needs a couple of improvements and also, if they are encouraging their full backs to get forward then they need more cover for the defense from central midfield.
Crystal Palace 1-2 Sunderland
Lee 28; Giaccharini 8, Ruiz 62
Cardiff vs Aston Villa
Aston Villa went into this game with an attacking line up and star signing Hatem Ben Arfa making his debut, while Cardiff had not been as active as they'd have wanted to be in the transfer market and their tactics were clear from the first minute. Aston Villa had a lot of the ball early on but were unable to create any chances of note as Cardiff had numbers back making it very difficult for anything to happen. They only had one major chance in the first half with a moment of brilliance from Ben Arfa who got past Mutch and sent in a low shot which beat the goalkeeper but hit the post and was cleared. The second half was more of the same with Cardiff continuing to defend and Aston Villa getting all the chances. Benteke made a clever run which made space for Ben Arfa in behind who passed the ball to Weimann who saw his shot blocked by Caulker. Odemwingie had a big chance on the counter attack and got Cardiff's only shot on target throughout the whole game just after the hour mark with Medel playing him in, but Guzan made a fantastic save. Aston Villa were throwing more and more bodies forward and Ince sent in a cross which found Benteke who beat Theophile in the air and headed the ball just over the bar. Bacuna then played a great ball wide to Lowton who crossed the ball very deep to Benteke who headed the ball at goal once again, this time he was not to be denied and scored a goal to give Aston Villa the lead with just three minutes remaining. Cardiff quickly tried to respond but at this late stage, it was too little, too late with Villa getting the win.
Cardiff 0-1 Aston Villa
Benteke 87
Tactical Analysis (By Roy Keane)
Aston Villa have Benteke who won the game for them late on to break through a determined Cardiff effort. Both sides were well set up, the difference in quality was what made it with Cardiff needing some signings pretty desperately if they are to challenge.
Fulham vs Stoke
The Fulham side that went out today meant business and made a bright start against Stoke. Berbatov got onto the end of a Dempsey cross but hit the ball wide in the first minute as Fulham went with an attacking line up. They had another chance just a couple of minutes later when Kasami made a run forward and chipped the ball through to Adebayor who smashed the ball straight at Begovic. Stoke were struggling but improved after that shaky start and Arnautovic made a great run, beating Sidwell and getting past Amorebieta before being brought down for a penalty. Benzia wanted to take the penalty and placed the ball, pointing to the goalkeepers left hand side. Stekelenburg dived to his right as the penalty was struck and he went the wrong way but Benzia's penalty hit the post and was hacked clear by Reither. Benzia then had a big chance to make amends just two minutes later and he got onto the end of a through ball from Pennant but at the vital moment he hesitated allowing Lescott to cut across and clear the ball for a corner. Sidwell played a great long pass through to Snodgrass on the right and the winger cut inside and found Dempsey lurking on the edge of the area and his shot was on target but deflected off Bent to go wide of the goal. There was time for Stoke to have the final chance though, with Taarabt dispossed by Palacios and the defensive midfielder playing the ball over the top for Arnautovic who raced clear of the goalkeeper and smashed a low shot against the side netting to leave this game ending as a draw.
Fulham 0-0 Stoke
Tactical Analysis (By Martin Keown)
The front three for Fulham didn't really click and their attacks were a bit sluggish. They played a very attacking line up with the wingers and three at the back. But Stoke lack a cutting edge upfront. Benzia is not ready for this level to be the main man and could maybe do with someone partnering him in attack.
West Brom vs Norwich
These two sides look like they will be strong this season and it started with Olly running onto the pitch to give all the Norwich player's shirts after the game, in an incident similar to Andre Santos and Robin Van Persie. The referee had to forcibly remove him from the pitch as he blew the whistle to start the game with Redmond getting straight into it, making a fantastic run down the wing and skinning Reid. He sent a cross into the box which just evaded van Wolfswinkel when he could have given Norwich the lead early on. They were not to be denied for long though, as Fer found Redmond on the edge of the box and he took his time before placing a low drive which went straight through Foster's hands and into the net, it was weak goalkeeping and Norwich went into the break in the lead. Sessengnon had a fantastic chance to equalize straight from the kick off as Long made a run distracting the Norwich defenders and Sessengnon having space in behind, but he sent his shot just over the bar. McAuley had a header from a great delivery from Sessengnon but it was saved by Ruddy, and Berahino got right infield and took a shot which went wide. Subsitute Brunt finally orchestrated the breakthrough with a killer pass through found Long who managed to get the extra yard past Hangeland and smash home a low strike to get West Brom back on terms. But the game didn't end there with half an hour still to play. Hangeland had the chance to score from a corner when he beat Yacob in the air but just couldn't quite get the right contact, and Sessengon sent hit the crossbar with a fantastic free kick in response for West Brom. It was end to end stuff late on with both teams seeking the win and the final chance fell to Norwich subsitute Jonny Howson who made a great run and played a neat one two with Pilkington before taking his shot which beat Foster but was cleared off the line superby by Olsson to end the game in a fair draw.
West Brom 1-1 Norwich
Long 55; Redmond 37
Tactical Analysis (By Jamie Redknapp)
Norwich made themselves difficult to break down with a deep line, hardworking midfield and the full backs not given instruction to get forward. While West Brom slightly edged the midfield battle and Sessengnon had a good game, they just couldn't quite get the win.

Team - this week after scrapping to a late win against West Ham we really want to crank it up against a Palace side with what on paper is a weak back line. As a result I've gone for a forward four brimming with speed and trickery to really put them to the sword.
GK - Instruct the defence early, communicate with them, ensure they know their roles and that you make yourself big , look to move the ball out quickly to our flanks to instigate counters.
FBs - Keep the wingers on the flanks and stay on your feet, look to block crosses, work the flanks on counters and double up with Zaha/Ayew
CBs - Colo to be the enforcer on their main striker, keeping goalside and timing tackles with Yanga to patrol for a number ten linking up or wingers coming infield
CMs - Cabaye to play as DLP (deep lying playmaker), dictate the flow of the game, crank up the gears in periods of pressure, slow it down if they're in the ascendency, Tiote to play as a DM breaking up their play and applying pressure on their midfield before moving the ball onto our wings.
WGs - Two wingers that really like to run at the defence so I want you to really put their bck line under pressure and look to come inside whenever possible, if the alternate winger has the ball then come into the box.
AM - Link up play with Remy playing balls past the back line or quick one twos for you to run on to. Spread the ball from one side to the other.
ST - Drag your marker with you out of place allowing space to open up, if Morrison has the ball look to time runs past the defence into the box
Subs - 70m - Volland, Delph, Praet- Zaha, Cabaye, Morrison, Straight swap for positions, use the fresh energy to continue the assault on Palace.

Sunderland A.F.C v Norwich
Line Up:
Injuries: Downing, Cabral & Bardsley
Speech: Last week you made a perfect start against a very challenging opponent and this week you'll need to do it again...if we play to the standard I know we can, then we can win this but we can't get complacent...there's a long way to go until this season is over and we can't afford to start slipping up already...stick to the plan, take some chances and most importantly...enjoy yourself!
Tactics:
GK: Stay strong and vocal, control the box and make sure the defence stays strong, when collecting the ball, catch it and wait for an opening instead of quick releases and punching the ball away.
FB's: Support the midfield and help them get forward, go forward but make sure you can get back if a counter attack is mounted.
CB's: Stay deep, forcing strikers to play on their weaker foot, don't worry about making speculative clearances to get the danger out of there, look for options when available.
CM's: Work together to control the middle of the field, play in triangles and look for our attackers, when attacking Johnson and Giaccheri to move out wide and look for chances to cross, when defending drop back to a defensive position
AM's: Work together to get behind the defence, drag them out of position and look for through balls to open them up, take long shots when confident
ST: Drag the defence out of position and play on the last defender, try to open the defence to let Ruiz and Agbonlahor get shots and runs through.
Whole Team: Pass in triangles, when a player goes out of position make sure you tell him to get back in formation.

Keeper - You were superb last weekend, keep it up this weekend. Another tough place to go, command you're area, keep on instructing the defense and don't allow them to switch off.
Defenders - Were going to start off playing a deep line, play the ball out back from the back. There fans are always buzzing from the off, they will look to come out to attack us, lets keep it simple at the back and really look to frustrate them. Center backs, man mark there strikers, and don't allow them space, they have powerful strikers who will punish us. Full backs, like last week, don't get carried away going forward, really keep tight to there wingers.
Midfielders - Leroy is injured, but Johnny has been training superbly hard. Like last week Scotty and Alex sit and hold, with Johnny pushing on to support our attackers. Wingers, lots of tracking back. But use you're pace to kill there full backs. Redmond lots of runs to the by lines and crosses. Pilks, look to get in the box in these situations to help Wolf out.

FB: McNaughton likes to attack and will attack with Gutirrez down the right hand side. Same with Rat will support Jarvis in attack.
CB: Tomkins go up for corners, Taylor stay back at all times and dont attack
DM: Whttingham and Nolan, stay solid, protect the back four. Whittingham set piece taker, Nolan will get forward in search of goal scoring opportuinties.
WING: Gutirrez and Jarvis offer the width. Jonas will look to beat the defenders and get ball into box. Also shoot from range. Jarvis will look to cut inside and thread the ball down the middle.
STRIK: Ba and Maiga are to provide the goals. Maiga will hold ball up for Ba and play him in. Also get in the box for socring opportunities.

TACTICS
Need to bounce back from last week's game with a win, we have some new faces in the side and we can play more attacking this week. Attack them with plenty of pace.
DEFENSE
- Ba will be their main man in attack, we want to hold a slightly higher line as we have enough pace to cope with him.
- Richards and Taylor should show their wingers onto their weaker foot, don't let Joe Cole cut inside particularly.
- Diame and Mutch should be full of running and protection for the back four. Make sure there is no space for their attacking mids.
- The AM trio should press them high up the pitch.
ATTACK
- The wingers should take on their full backs, Maloney in particular should have a field day against McNaughton.
- Full backs have more license to get forward today but be sensible.
- Valdivia should look to thread through balls through, play passes all day and if you are man-marked, swap positions with Diame to get more space as a deep lying playmaker.
- Odemwingie should use his pace to break free of any man-markers and run out wide to create space for the other attackers.
- Try to win set pieces where we can score goals with the centre backs getting forward as well as Diame and Mutch.

Re: Fixture List & Results
Stoke v West Brom
4-1-2-1-2 Formation.
----------------Begovic----------
----Wilson---Huth----Shawcross---Pieters----
----------------N'Zonzi-----------
----Pennant-----------------------Assaidi---
----------------Ireland----------------------
------------Benzia---Finnbogason-----------
Tactics:
Goalkeeper:
Begovic - I would like you to try and claim crosses, free kicks etc.
Defenders:
Shawcross, Huth, Wilson and Pieters - Try to keep possession of the ball as much as you can, try to use the width of the pitch but also try and look for an opening in the centre of midfield.
Midfielders:
Pennant and Assaidi - I would like you both to run up and down the wings. I would like you to help the defence out when required too. I would like you to try and look to play passes to Benzia and Finnbogason.
N'Zonzi - I would like you to provide a screen in front of the defence to help them out. We may come under pressure at times as this may help out quite a bit.
Ireland - I would like you to try and play passes into Finnbogason and Benzia who will be attacking quite a bit - I would like you to provide as much support as possible for them in attacking situations.
Attackers:
Finnbogason and Benzia - I would like you to try and look for the final passes coming through from the midfield. I would like you to make runs but if they play a deep defensive line like they did last week, then i would like you to run at the opposition and dribble the ball as much as possible and try to take shots when you can. If they don't play a deep line then try to make runs in behind the defence and i would like you to try and attack the ball as much as you can.
Overall Team Talk - I would like us to have possession as much as we can, i would also like you to try and pass the ball with pace.

--------------Long-----------------
Instructions:
- Playing Norwich today boys, so we're going to look to attack the weak fullback area, and dominate the midfield to cut off the supply to their off form strikers. Then we shall break on the counter attack with our creative players, and their quickness
- Defensively I want us to keep the line deep, don't allow them to get in behind us as we lack pace. Morrison and Mulumbu I want you two to screen the back four, breaking up their attacks keeping an eye on Howson/Fer running from deep. Then I want you to get the ball into Sessegnon/Amalfitano/Berahino as quickly as possible as we look to counter.
- Foster be commanding and aware of crosses coming into the box, which McAuley and Olsson should win all day against their strikers anyways

Re: Fixture List & Results
Stoke City 2-0 West Bromich Albion
Finnbogson & Ireland
Stoke City run out winners against WBA with an easy 2-0 win after Finnbogson & Ireland score in a easy win.
Tactical Analysis - Stoke won today but against better sides the diamond formation may see them exposed.
Sunderland 1-3 Norwich City
Larsson - Redmond, Pilkington, Wolfswinkel
A goal fest at the stadium of light with Norwich coming back from 1-0 down to win 1-3
Tactical Analysis - Sunderland playing a retired Owen Hargreaves was a terrible move as was Adam Johnson in the centre of the park, Norwich were well drilled and kept them at bay with ease
Aston Villa 1-1 Fulham
Ben Arfa - Bent
A close affair at Villa Park with both sides going away with a point.
Tactical Analysis
Both sides tactically tried to out do each other with both managers getting it terribly wrong. Villa control the game but Fulham look more like scoring.
Newcastle Utd 3-1 Crystal Palace
Zaha, Morrison, Remy - ings
Comfortable result at St James' Park today as a rampant Newcastle take Palace apart and looked every inch the title contender as most expect.
Tactical Analysis: The quality of the Newcastle side were a class above the newly promoted side, Palace need to sort out the side quickly or risk relegation yet again
West Ham Utd 4-3 Cardiff City - Game of the day
Ba x3, Nolan - Caulker, Cowie, Maloney
A goal fest at Upton Park with the Hammers just edging a stubborn Cardiff side out.
Tactical Analysis: Both managers seemed to go with the we're score 1 more then you ploy but this eventually fell into West Ham's favor with the late winner. Both sides need to take a look at their leaky defenses and could use more firepower up front.

Tactics:
Goalkeeper:
Begovic - I would like you to try and claim crosses and free kicks etc. I would like you to try to pass the ball into our possession as much as you can aswell.
Defenders:
Shawcross, Huth, Cameron and Pieters - I would like Cameron and Pieters to use the wings to run into and play the passes into the midfield. I would also like Huth and Shawcross to pass the ball into midfield aswell. In defensive situations i would like you all to play a cover system where if there is space in behind the defence and you are free i would like you all to try and get into that space to support the other defenders.
Midfielders:
Pennant and Assaidi - I would like you both to run up and down the wings. I would like you to help the defence out when required too. I would like you to try and look to play passes into Arnautovic and Benzia aswell.

Attackers:
Arnautovic - I am playing you in a position which is just behind Benzia. This will allow us to have another attacking option whilst providing support for Benzia. I would like you to try and make runs aswell as Benzia and to try and play as a partnership with Benzia.
Benzia - You will have support from Arnautovic up front today. I would like you to try and play as a partnership and try to make things happen in the attacking situations. I would like you to make runs when possible too, this will hopefully allow passes to be played into you from the midfield players.

TACTICS
We need to get a win this week, and we are going to attack with three attackers. In addition to this, we have a strong midfield who can quickly win back the ball when we lose it and physically dominate the middle of the park against their lightweight midfield, outnumbering them three against two.
DEFENSE
- Expecting two strikers, Caulker and Kone are both intelligent centre backs and should pick up a man each but don't get drawn out of position.
- Play slightly deeper to ensure we don't get caught out by pace.
- Richards and Taylor should stick tight and don't let any crosses into the box.
- Diame and Medel should both go flying in with tackles, win the ball constantly and make it impossible for them to play.
ATTACK
- We have a fluid front three this week who are free to swap positions and be difficult to pick up.
- Attack quickly when we get the ball, the likes of Bramble and Mariappa are aging a bit and lacking that turn of pace.
- Valdivia should get deeper and play long passes through at will, look for balls over the top as well.
- The full backs have license to get forward with the centre midfielders staying a little deeper to cover.

CM: Scott Parker
ARM: Nathan Redmond
ALM: Raheem Sterling
ST: Ricky Van Wolfswinkel

Subs
60th Minute - Bennett for Redmond
70th Minute - Tetty for Howson
80th Minute - If winning Bassong for Sterling, If Losing Hooper for Whittaker, If Drawing Pilkington for Sterling
Tactics
Keeper - You were superb last weekend, keep it up this weekend. Don't allow the defense to switch of for a second, keep everyone focused for the full 90, constantly command you're area.
Defenders - Were going to start off playing a high line, play the ball out back from the back, and lets look to get the ball forward quickly. Were going to put pressure on them early on, after about 30 minutes, let drop the line back a bit, and start to sit of more. Full backs get forward more this week and support your wingers, but making sure you track back constantly.
Midfielders - Were going to go a bit more attacking this week. Wingers look to take on your full back and get the ball into the penalty area at all times. You both have an incredible ammount of pace, and if we can keep a fast tempo we should really be a force going forward. Scotty i want you to hold, with Leroy and Johnny attacking a bit more, but both making sure you keep up you're defensive duty's so we don't get caught out.
Strikers - Like last week, lots of running and working hard for the time. Hold the ball up and look to get the ball out wide to our exciting wingers. Look to play with Howson and Leroy, like you have done the last few weeks. Throw you're self at everything in the air, have plenty of pops at goal.
Team Talk
I can't describe how excellent we were last week, we defended as a team and scored 3 superb goals. This week were at home, and our fans will be in full voice and expecting big things from us. Were going to go more attacking this week. Wingers and full backs, always on the over lap. Leroy and Howson look to overlap them in midfield. Wolf do what you do best, like you have been doing for the last 2 weeks. COME ON LADS!!!

Subs: Yanga-Mbiwa, Delph, Praet, Volland, Gomis, Sissoko, Williamson
Team - Top of the league clash and one we need to win to stamp our authority on it. I want no let up, no surrender, Norwich last week played with a deep back line with their fullbacks staying back, if thats the case again it allows us to control the game in the half so pressure them immediately into mistakes.
GK - Instruct the defence early, communicate with them, ensure they know their roles and that you make yourself big , look to move the ball out quickly to our flanks to instigate counters.
FBs - They've been going for pace abuse down the flanks with crosses so look to time tackles as they meet the ball, if not them try and force them onto their weaker foot and ensure you block any crosses.
CBs - Colo to be the enforcer on their main striker, keeping goalside and timing tackles with Reid to patrol for a number ten linking up or wingers coming infield
CMs - Cabaye to play as DLP (deep lying playmaker), dictate the flow of the game, crank up the gears in periods of pressure, slow it down if they're in the ascendency, Anita to play as a DM breaking up their play and applying pressure on their midfield before moving the ball onto our wings.
WGs - Two wingers that really like to run at the defence so I want you to really put their back line under pressure and look to whip balls into the box for Carroll. If the alternate winger has the ball then come into the box.
AM - Link up play with Carroll playing balls past the back line or quick one twos for you to run on to. Spread the ball from one side to the other.
ST - Old school forward role for Carroll, get in and amongst the defence, niggle them, knock the ball down for Morrison to run onto. Look for the runs of the wingers down the flanks and time your jumps.
Subs - 70m - Volland, Delph, Praet- Zaha, Cabaye, Morrison, Straight swap for positions, use the fresh energy to continue the assault on Palace.

--------------Myhill-----------------
Reid---McAuley---Olsson---Ridgewell

Amalfitano---Sessegnon---Berahino
--------------Long-----------------
Instructions:
- We're going to look to attack the weak fullback area, and dominate the midfield to cut off the supply to their off form strikers.
- Foster be commanding and aware of crosses coming into the box, which McAuley and Olsson should win all day against their strikers anyways
v
Line Up:
Injuries: O'Shea, Ruiz & Larsson
Tactics:
GK: Stay strong, keep the defence solid and catch everything that comes in to the box
Defence: Stay strong and stop their attacks dead, keep in formation and have the fullbacks help the wingers get forward
CM: Act as the player maker and set up the attackers with through balls
Wingers: Get crosses and through balls to our forwards, go in field when an opportunity arises
Strikers: Pull the defence out of position and get on the end of everything that comes your way
Team talk: I let us down last week and played the wrong sort of game, this week is an opportunity to show what we can do when we do it right, push forward...and attack, keep the formation and put on a show!

Re: Fixture List & Results
Stoke 0-0 Villa
Stoke look light up front this week again with the injury to Finnbogason, also note to Miky, be more demanding of your players rather than saying you would like them to do something, tell them to do it, they'll respect you more, you're the boss! Just can't see this being a high scoring game.
Fulham 3-2 West Ham
(Dembele, Berbatov, Bent - Cisse, Ba)
Both have hot and cold strike forces, on their day partnerships that could get a bagful, whilst on others look horrific. For me though the game is won in the centre of the pitch where Dembele and Meireles outclass Whittingham going forward.
Palace 1-2 Cardiff
(Ings - Toivonen, Valdivia)
Trebs is starting to get the framework of a quality side together and as usual is a tactic god, I'm unsure though of the comments for the likes of Medel putting in flying tackles, can't see him lasting 90 minutes with those instructions, I can see Cardiff taking an early 2-0 lead but then hanging on towards the end for a scrappy 2-1 victory
Brom 1-2 Sunderland
(Long - Fletcher, Johnson)
I can see the game spending most of the time in Sunderlands half but Sunderland getting the win through counterattacks down the flanks.
Norwich 0-1 Newcastle
(Morrison)
A tight win for Newcastle with Norwich keeping them at bay well with their tight midfield and are unlucky not to get anything.

Team - The Tyne Wear Derby so they'll be up for and I expect Viper to have them prepped. I want to quash their fire immediately with a huge onslaught of pressure from the off, really get them on the back foot straight away and disrupt their plans.
GK - Instruct the defence early, communicate with them, ensure they know their roles and that you make yourself big , look to move the ball out quickly to our flanks to instigate counters.

Injured Players: Fabio,Vaughan,Westwood
Team Talk: You did well against West Brom but this is going to be our biggest challenge to date, they'll attack so we need to play smart and let them come at us cutting them off before they get too far, play strong and control the middle of the field...you know you can do this!
GK: Command your area and catch everything in sight! Get releases out and try some speculative clearances to open up options for the attackers
DC: Don't be scared to smash the ball up field but look for chances to get our players in to space, force their players to play on weaker feet and don't let them get between you and the goal!
DL/DR: Support the wingers but make sure to keep formation, don't go forward unless you see a clear chance to help the team
DM/CM: Stick in a triangle and command the middle of the field, Giaccherini to look for through balls and act as the play maker, work with the wingers to get forward
ML/MR: Get crosses in and work with the other midfield players to drag them out of position, when chances arise go in to a more attacking midfield position
CF: Drag the defence out of position and play on the last player, look for runs and get on every cross the wingers send in for you!

4-3-3 formation this week.
------------------Sorenson---------------------
----Wilkinson---Muniesa----Cameron---Pieters---
------------------------------------------------
----------N'Zonzi-----------Ireland--------------
-----------------Arnautovic--------------------
----------Finnbogason-----Forlan--------------
-------------------Benzia------------------------
Goalkeeper - Come and claim crosses, corners and free kicks etc. Play the ball short rather than long when you can.
Defenders - I want you to play an organised set up in defence today as the players in front of you are playing in an attacking system which might leave some space open behind the more advanced players. Cameron i am playing you in a more defensive role this week. Pieters and Wilkinson i want you to try and anchor on the wings behind the midfield players in attack to provide some width.
N'Zonzi and Ireland - I want you both to support the players in front of you whilst helping the defence out aswell. I also want you both to get involved as much as possible with both attacking and defending.
Arnautovic - You are just behind the attacking players in the system we are playing today. You will be required to attack with the other more advanced players but i also want you to defend occasionally too.
Finnbogason and Forlan - Forlan, welcome to the team. I'm sure you will provide a lot of experience for our team and i think that this will be an added bonus to our squad. I want you both to attack as much as you can and hold up the ball to bring Benzia and the midfield players into the attack.
Benzia - I want you to look to get on the end of passes and make runs on and off the ball. You will be supported by Finnbogason and Forlan in attacking situations. They will be holding up the ball when they can to bring you and the other players from midfield into the attacks.

TACTICS
Hoping to follow up the win against Crystal Palace with another win today, we need our midfielders to drive forward and take the initiative and playing a little more patiently this week.
DEFENSE
In a nutshell: Strong back four in a deep line, don't let their wingers have any space to work.
- Kone and Caulker should hold a strong line in the 18 yard area, get tight to Van Wolfswinkel as he isn't the most skillful more of a poacher type.
- Richards and Taylor should be more reserved this week, not getting forward so much and trying to prevent Redmond and Sterling cutting in.
- Medel should sit deeper covering the back four with Medel and Mutch getting higher pressurising their midfielders, try to get in their faces and not let them settle.
ATTACK
In a nutshell: Inside forwards getting narrow, playing patiently and passing the ball around trying to work the chance.
- Diame and Mutch should use their physicality going forward to cause problems for their defensive midfielders and getting in the space behind the striker.
- Odemwingie and Toivonen should use their pace to cut inside, take on a man and shoot from range, attacking roles today
- Campbell should use his strength and finishing ability, score a goal, get on the end of passes and play neat one-twos.
SUBSTITUTIONS
If winning bring on Maloney for Campbell, Odemwingie goes upfront to hit them on the counter in a more straightforward 4-5-1.
If drawing bring on Maloney for Mutch. Toivonen moves to AM in a 4-2-3-1.
If losing bring on Maloney, Valdivia and Cornelius for Kone, Mutch and Toivonen, in a very attacking 4-4-2.

Norwich
Team
GK: Mark Bunn
RB: Russel Martin
LB: Javier Garrido
CB: Brede Hangerland
CB: Sergio Sanchez
RCM: Leroy Fer
LCM: Johnny Howson
CM: Scott Parker
ARM: Nathan Redmond
ALM: Anthony Pilkington
ST: Ricky Van Wolfswinkel
Subs:
Carlo Nash
Seb Bassong
Martin Ollson
Wes Hoolhan
Elliot Bennett
Raheem Sterling
Gary Hooper
Subs
60th Minute - Bennett for Redmond
70th Minute - Hoolahan for Howson
80th Minute - If winning Bassong for Pilkington, If Losing Hooper for Martin, If Drawing Sterling for Pilkington
Tactics
Keeper - You're first start of the season today, seize you're chance. Go out there and have the game of your life, prove to me that you can be Norwich number one. Command you're area at all times, lots of shouting all game.
Defenders - Were going to start off playing a deep line, play the ball out back from the back, and lets look to play it slow and frustrate Cardiff early on. Were going to sit back early on. Center backs lots of communication. Full backs i don't want you pushing too far forward, we don't want to get caught out on the break, there going to be looking for a big attacking style of play anyway,
Midfielders - Were going to go back to how we did at Sunderland and look to keep the ball and frustrate Cardiff. Wingers look to take on your full back and get the ball into the penalty area at all times. You both have an incredible ammount of pace, and if we can keep a fast tempo we should really be a force going forward. Scotty and Johnny i want you to hold, with Leroy attacking a bit more, but both making sure you keep up you're defensive duty's so we don't get caught out.
Strikers - Like last week, lots of running and working hard for the time. Hold the ball up and look to get the ball out wide to our exciting wingers. Look to play with Howson and Leroy, like you have done the last few weeks. Throw you're self at everything in the air, have plenty of pops at goal.
Team Talk
This is a big game for us. We had our first defeat of the season last Sunday, so lets see the character in the team today. Lets go out and look to bring home the 3 points. Start off sitting back playing a deep line and slowly we will build into the game. !
COME ON LADS!!!!!

West Brom v Newcastle
West Brom Tactics
Starting XI:
GK - Ben Foster
RB - Steven Reid
CB - Gareth McAuley
CB - Jonas Olsson
LB - Liam Ridgewell
CM - Zoltan Gera
CM - Graham Dorrans
RAM - Morgan Amalfitano
CAM - Stephane Sessegnon
LAM - Saido Berahino
ST - Shane Long
Subs

Diego Lugano

Chris Brunt
Scott Sinclair
Matej Vydra
--------------Myhill-----------------
Reid---McAuley---Olsson---Ridgewell
---------Gera---Dorrans----------
Amalfitano---Sessegnon---Berahino
--------------Long-----------------
Instructions:
- We're going to look to attack the weak fullback area, and dominate the midfield to cut off the supply to their off form strikers. Then we shall break on the counter attack with our creative players, and their quickness
- Defensively I want us to keep the line deep, don't allow them to get in behind us as we lack pace. Yacob and Dorrans I want you two to screen the back four, breaking up their attacks keeping an eye on Morrison running from deep. Then I want you to get the ball into Sessegnon/Amalfitano/Berahino as quickly as possible as we look to counter.
- In attack I want us to play swift cutting passes, looking to get Long in behind their CB's who he shall outpace everytime. Sessegnon to be the main creator. Berahino can cause their defence all sorts of problems.
- Also paramount the wingers get back and help our fullbacks as there main threat will look to come from out wide (if they have any sense)
- Foster be commanding and aware of crosses coming into the box, which McAuley and Olsson should win all day against their strikers anyways
v
Newcastle
-----------------Forster-----------------
Jung---Coloccini---Reid---Santon
-------------Tiote---Cabaye--------
Volland----------Morrison--------Ayew
-----------------Remy--------------
Subs: , Delph, Praet, Gomis, Sissoko, Carroll, Yanga Mbiwa, Elliot
Team - Last week we took the foot off the gas against our local rivals and as a result we only drew, this isn't going to happen this week where I want commitment from the opening whistle to the last. West Brom have been decimated by injuries to their midfield and it's left them with only attacking midfielders in the centre of the pitch, with also playing with a deep back line it means we can dominate the possession and really put them to the sword.
GK - Instruct the defence early, communicate with them, ensure they know their roles and that you make yourself big , look to move the ball out quickly to our flanks to instigate counters.
FBs - Look to push their wingers back into their half through doubling up down our flanks, pressure their wingers early as they get the ball.
CBs - If they're playing one striker then isolate him with Colo manmarking, whilst Reid blocks channels.
WGs - Two wingers that really like to run at the defence, alternate between going outside and whipping balls across and coming inside for a shot. If the alternate winger has the ball then come into the box.
AM - Link up play with Remy playing balls past the back line or quick one twos for you to run on to. Spread the ball from one side to the other. Don't be afraid to shoot from distance.
ST - Be like a Duracell bunny, constant movement dragging any markers with you to open up space, look to lose your marker when the balls pushed through as their defence has the turning circle of an artic truck.
Subs - 70m - Carroll, Delph, Praet- Remy, Cabaye, Morrison, Straight swap for positions, use the fresh energy to continue the assault on Brom.

Sunderland v Cardiff
Line Up (4-2-4-0 Formation)
Injured Players: Mannone, Gardner, Wickham
Tactics: Last week we drew away from home with arguably the biggest team in the league and our biggest rivals, I'm so proud of that but we need to capitalise...this week I want us to show what our midfield can do, control the middle of the park and control possession...come on lads!
GK: Control the defence, catch everything and keep the defence in formation, keep it strong and lead from the back!
DC: Force their strikers to play on their weaker foots and keep it strong, make big clearances but attempt to look for openings!
DR/DL: Support the wingers but stay in formation, rarely go forward and stay strong
Midfield (general): Work as a unit and control the middle of the park, use the numbers game and pass around their midfield players
WL/WR: Get crosses in, help drag the defence out of position and make a habit of going infield to team up with the attacking midfielders, use the numbers game.
AM: Get forward and attack, take long shots and go in for corners getting on the end of everything!
v
Cardiff tactics
BENCH

TACTICS
Sunderland are a difficult team to predict, they have used a variety of formations but we think they will have two out and out wingers and a striker. We need to hold a strong back four and look to hit them on the counter with pace abuse. Their back four lacks the pace so we can take advantage.
DEFENSE - Tight back four, Mutch and Diame quickly closing down.
- They have some nasty wingers in Downing and Johnson so our full backs should stay back and look to get physical, give them a roughing up.
- Caulker should be the main man-marker of Fletcher with Kone supporting and sweeping up in behind.
- Mutch and Diame should sit in front of the back four, plenty of running to stop the runs from their midfielders like Giaccharini from finding space, loads of running and closing down.
ATTACK - Fast, counter attacking football.
- Valdivia should sit a little deeper and try to find passes from midfield, balls over the top too. Exploit the space when their line gets deeper.
- Diame and Mutch should take it in turns to get forward with the full backs being a little more cautious this week, use your power and drive forward with the ball.
- Look to hit them fast, we have plenty of pace in our front three, I want to force them to get very deep because of fear.
SUBSTITUTIONS
If winning bring on Gunnarson for one of the three midfielders to help close out the game.
If drawing bring on Maloney for Valdivia, move Odemwingie central in a 4-4-2.
If losing bring on Maloney and Campbell for van Damme and Mutch. 3-5-2 with Maloney playing AM and Richards moving to CB.

Cameron-Shawcross--Huth------Pieters
Pennant--N'Zonzi-Arnautovic----Assaidi
--------------Forlan-------------------
-----------Finnbogason----------------
I am playing a 4-4-1 formation today. I want us to play the ball out to the wide areas as much as possible today.
Begovic - Come and claim the ball in the air. I would like you to pass the ball short from goalkicks into our possesion.
Pieters and Cameron - I want you both to support the wide players by overlapping on the attacks and crossing the ball into the box. I want you to also get back into position to defend when it is required.
Shawcross and Huth - I want you both to do as much as you can to win the Aerial challenges and to pass the ball forward as much as you can into the wider areas of the pitch.
Assaidi and Pennant - I want you both to operate along the wings today. I want you to run up the wings and cross the ball in as much as possible. You will have support from Pieters and Cameron in attack and they will be making overlapping runs into the box so i want you both to play the ball to them as much as you can. In defence i want you both to run back and defend when it is required.
N'Zonzi and Arnautovic - I want you both to play as a partnership and try to move the ball out wide as much as you can as we are looking to get into the wide areas of the pitch more today. In defence i would like you both to drop deeper and provide a defensive screen to help out our defence.
Forlan and Finnbogason - Forlan i am playing you in a position just behind Finnbogason. I want you both to get into the box as much as possible to get onto the end of crosses that will be crossed in from the wider areas of the pitch. I want you both to try and take shots at goal as much as possible but i also want you to hold the ball up when required to bring the other attacking players into the attacks.

Be strong and physical to cut out their attacks. Heitinga, Batth and Jedinak will look to close them down and pressure them off the ball
Get the ball out wide as quickly as possible to use our pace on the wings. Crosses should be drilled in low towards the feet of Rhodes or cut back to Williams on the edge of the area
Williams and Hughes will look to control the game centrally. They will spread the play and look to keep us passing fluently.
Hunt and Parr will support our wingers going forward, looking to hit their defenders on the counter with the overlap

CB: Sergio Sanchez

CM: Scott Parker
ARM: Elliot Bennett
ALM: Nathan Redmond

Subs
60th Minute - Pilkington for Bennett
70th Minute - Howson for Hoolahan
80th Minute - If winning Turner for Redmond, If Losing Becchio for Martin, If Drawing Becchio for Vans Wolswinkel
Tactics
Keeper - Don't allow the defense to switch of like they did for the goal last week. Keep them focused all game. Command you're area and put in 100%
Defenders - Were going to start off playing a high line, play the ball out back from the back, and lets look to get it forward and really bring the game to Fulham. Center backs lots of communication. Full backs push forward and support the wingers, however we don't want to get caught out on the break, there going to be looking to do just that.
Midfielders - Were going to knock it around quickly, center midfieldrs, Leroy and Wes, lots of creative play, get the ball out wide and have plenty of pops on goal. Scotty remain in the holding role. Wingers look to take on your full back and get the ball into the penalty area at all times. You both have an incredible ammount of pace, and if we can keep a fast tempo we should really be a force going forward.
Strikers - Like last week, lots of running and working hard for the time. Hold the ball up and look to get the ball out wide to our exciting wingers. Look to play with Wes and Leroy, like you have done the last few weeks. Throw you're self at everything in the air, have plenty of pops at goal.
Team Talk
2 defeats on the bounce isn't good lads. I really want a response today, the fans have been brilliant and constantly backing us, lets really reward them today. Fast paced game, lets never stop running, close everything down and attack with flair. Lets win those 50/50 tackles.

Defense - Sit deep, Full backs to force wingers inside when attacking overlap wingers, Amorebieta to take main forward, Lescott to sweep up
Midfielders, Dembele sit deep and dictate the play before making runs towards the box, Meireles to get forward take the dm out of play keep him busy, Snodgrass cut inside and whip balls in, Sako bomb down the wing and get crosses in, Kasami to drift across the front 3

Re: Fixture List & Results
Newcastle v Cardiff
Newcastle 4-3-3
-----------------Forster-----------------
Jung---Coloccini---Yanga Mbiwa---Santon
---------Tiote---Morrison--Cabaye--------
Zaha----------Gouffran--------Remy
Subs: Delph, Praet, Gomis, Sissoko, Carroll, Elliot, Ayew
Team - Up against a tactical master in Trebs this week so have changed things round and dropped Morrison into a 3 man midfield to combat their physical style whilst sticking Remy and Zaha on the flanks to really strike at their weak fullbacks especially with Richards injured at RB.
GK - Instruct the defence early, communicate with them, ensure they know their roles and that you make yourself big , look to move the ball out quickly to our flanks to instigate counters.
FBs - Keep their wingers on the outside and ensure you block the crosses. Look to link up play with our wingers going forward.
CBs - If they're playing one striker then isolate him with Colo manmarking, whilst Mbiwa blocks channels.
CMs - Cabaye to dictate the flow of the game, spread the ball into space for our wingers and Morrison, Tiote to pressurize their midfield, dont give their time on the ball, Morrison to pick up the ball and run at their defence.
WGs - Two wingers that really like to run at the defence, alternate between going outside and whipping balls across and coming inside for a shot. If the alternate winger has the ball then come into the box.
ST - Be like a Duracell bunny, constant movement dragging any markers with you to open up space, look to lose your marker when the balls pushed through as their defence has the turning circle of an artic truck.
Subs - 70m - Volland, Delph, Praet- Zaha, Cabaye, Morrison, Straight swap for positions, use the fresh energy to continue the assault on Cardiff.
v
Marshall
Brayford Caulker Kone van Damme
Mutch Medel Diame
Toivonen Batshauyi Maloney
Expecting them to play 4-2-3-1, so using a 4-3-3 which sits and looks to hit on the break
Excuse quality of tactics, using phone.
KEY POINTS
Tight back four allowing little room to exploit
Pace abuse going forward, hit on counter attack
Diame and Mutch pressurising, Medel get deep to stop AM.
Full backs more steady today not being too adventurous.
Toivonen and Maloney have license to roam.

FB: McNaughton and Rat get forward a lot, looking to support the midfield and overlap to get balls into the box
CB: Tomkins up for corners, with Taylor staying back as cover
DM: Whittingham pulling the strings in midfield, looking to thread the balls through and really control the game
Noble and nolan: In front of Whits looking to get the ball outwide, also Nolan looks to power through with the ball and will shoot from range.

Injuries: Lugano, Sinclair, Rosenborg
Line Up:
Subs: Myhill, Reid, Ridgewell, Morrison, Gera, Brunt, Long
Tactics:
•Defence. Deep line to try nullify some of the potential pace West Ham have. Man mark, get tight & be physical. Fullbacks not to venture much further than the halfway line.
•Yacob will act as a deep lying midfielder, protecting the back line & distributing the ball. Mulumbu will act as a ball winning midfielder, he will look to get at opposition players & on the attack push up to provide support.
•Amalfitano, Sessègnon & Young are all capable of switching position & can interchange as & when. The wide two will work hard to help defensively tracking back more than the central man. On the attack they will provide width, crosses, through balls and attack with pace. The wide men till look to drift inside & all three need to get closer to Anichebe in order to support & play off him.
•Anichebe will look to hold the ball up & link our AM trio into play. He will look to use his strength to get at opposition defenders & be as much of a nuisance as possible. Shoot on sight in the box

We will play a possession game and look to create an abundance of chances inside their penalty area
The central midfielders have a good chemistry and will set up to control the flow of the game. Jedinak will disposess the attackers and distribute to one of the other two who will look to move the ball swiftly forward
The wingers will both use speed and guile to attack the opposition full back. The overlap will be provided by attacking full backs. Balls will be aimed into the six yard box for Rhodes to poach
Rhodes will play the role of the poacher who will be presented with chances and will finish lethally
The two CBs will work well as a team. Both are capable on the ground and in the air

DF - They have some pace up front so stay goal side to stop them getting through. Be strong in air, take no chances at back and clear lines quickly.
CDM - Back up to Def, man mark their CAM to stop him getting space to play, strong in tackles, give him a horrid time!
Mid - play with pace on wings, cutting inside to support Tekkers in the box. Spread play from either side maintaining possession. Look for through balls to runners.
ST - Lone striker, hold up ball, look for runs from wingers cutting inside and support from CM, draw out the CB's making space for runners in behind. Keep possession, link up with 1/2's with runners, look for space behind Def, shoot on sight.

Tactics
Keeper - Fantastic performance last week, lets keep that high standard up this week. Command you're area and lots of shouting at the defense, not allowing them to switch of for a second.
Defenders - Were going to start off playing a high line, play the ball out back from the back, and lets look to get it forward and really bring the game to Stoke, like we did against Fulham last week. Center backs lots of communication. Full backs push forward and support the wingers, however we don't want to get caught out on the break, there going to be looking to do just that.
Midfielders - Were going to knock it around quickly, center midfieldrs, Leroy and Anderson, lots of creative play, get the ball out wide and have plenty of pops on goal. Scotty remain in the holding role. Wingers look to take on your full back and get the ball into the penalty area at all times. You both have an incredible ammount of pace, and if we can keep a fast tempo we should really be a force going forward.
Strikers - Were going to give Wolf a break, and bring in Gary. You're hungry to score and play well, prove this to me, prove that you deserve to start from the of. Get the ball make things happen. Cause there defense a nightmare, lots of shots, lots of passes to the midfield and wingers.
Team Talk
Last week we were outstanding, lets keep that up for this week. Midfield high energy all game, Anderson makes his debut for us, he has proved he is a key player for Man United, him and Leroy will be a great partnership for us. Defense is full strength, lets be very mean. Attackers, lots of running at there defense, and test there keeper a lot.
COME ON LADS!!!!

Kelvin-N'Zonzi Palacios-Assaidi
---------Arnautovic--------
-----Guidetti-Finnbogason---
I am going to play a 3-5-2 formation today. Welcome to the team Kelvin and Guidetti.
Goalkeeper - I would like you to do everything you can to win the ball in the air from set pieces etc.
Defenders - Today we are playing 3 players in defence. I want you to keep a solid defensive line but i also want you to look for the runs from the opposition down the wings.
Midfielders - There are 5 of you in midfield today and i want you to try and dominate possession and look to play passes through into our 2 strikers. In defensive situations i want the central players to provide an extra line of defence. Kelvin and Assaidi i want you both to provide support in the left back and right back positions as we are playing 3 central defenders today and i also want you to make diagonal runs into the box when we are attacking to provide more options.
Strikers - I want you both to work together up front to score as many goals as possible. I want you to hold the ball up as much as you can to bring the midfield players into the attacking situations with you. I want you to try and shoot whenever you get the opportunity. I also want you both to do what you can to get on the end of crosses and free kicks etc aswell.
Subs: Wilkinson, Ireland, Whelan, Shea, Pennant, Forlan, Benzia.
85th Minute: Shea on for Assaidi.
90th Minute: Whelan on for Palacios and Forlan on for Guidetti.
Injuries: Sorensen, Huth, Etheringhton.

Re: Fixture List & Results
Newcastle 2-1 Cardiff
West Ham 0-1 West Brom
(Young)
Think Z3 gets his tactics spot on with a deep line and close markers to Defoe nullifying his speed and I can't see the Hammers scoring as a result. I can see Young on his debut getting the winner.
Crystal Palace 2-0 Aston Villa
(Rhodes, Lee)
Fulham 2-1 Sunderland
(Berbatov, Dzsudzsak - Borini)
Hard one to call, Fulham have the quality but with Berbatov in the hole and Ade ahead it's leaving a lot of work for the two central players and Sunderland are allowed time to settle on the ball in their half. I'm edging it for the quality to shine through though.
Norwich 3-4 Stoke
(Redmond, Fer, Sterling - Finnbogason x 2, Guidetti, Arnatovic)
Game of the week for me with both sides playing exciting attacking players, can see it being end to end, back and forth and with a cup tie feel to it. The strike force up front for Stoke just edges it for me.
