Connacht have the wind in the 2nd half though. Serious wind comes in off the Atlantic there.

I'm mighty grateful for the updates, lads.
I'm on the train through to Edinburgh tonight, dressed as Kermit the Frog. There's a bunch of Celtic supporters sitting next to me, and I'm desperately trying to avoid being associated with them.

Re: Connacht Rugby v Glasgow Warriors, 2 November
Many years ago I asked a Scottish mate of mine.....
"Over here we call posh people "West Brits" what do they call them in Scotland?"
He replied
"Tories, and there's no many of them"
PS. Was about 25 years ago

Re: Connacht Rugby v Glasgow Warriors, 2 November
Last time I had the 'pleasure' of sharing a train carridge full of Celtic fans they were absolutely hammered & in high spirits after beating Motherwell.
When they weren't urinating into their empties & hurlling them off the train, they did a pretty good acapella rendition of the 'Thats Asda Price' jingle. Before starting a forward roll competition and trying to get everyone else on the caridge involved!
Hopefully your journey won't be as lively!

Meatball again 19-12, seem to have missed a penalty from Parks somewhere, very nice Shiraz with din-dins though.

Just a second. Richie Vernon was on for the last ten minutes. How could we not have got the try bonus point?

Re: Connacht Rugby v Glasgow Warriors, 2 November
Didn't sound like the most convincing win; and there's a bit of a worry about depth in the front row by the sound of the 2nd half scrums, but we needed to win this game. Taking the missing players into account, I'll take that result with a smile going into the break.

Sorry. He didn't miss the peno at the end. Despite the commentators saying it. 12 19 it was.jimbopip wrote:Meatball again 19-12, seem to have missed a penalty from Parks somewhere, very nice Shiraz with din-dins though.

Re: Connacht Rugby v Glasgow Warriors, 2 November
Hey folks, I'm still alive! Let's just savour that point for a moment. I'm on the train back home, surrounded by students who all want their picture taken with Kermit. I don't normally believe in karma, but...
I know we all want bonus points, but playing away to Connacht is a bloody hard fixture - it's more than a banana skin (a phrase I detest - so laden with disrespect), it's a game you have to really target. Considering that we've lost eighteen players to international duty, I was really worried about facing Desperate Dan in the House of Wind and Pain, but we came through it and kept touch with the ... ahem... 'gentlemen' of Munster..
It's difficult to assess this without having watched the match - all I'll say is that if you'd offered me a 6-1 record after two months of Pro12 action (and considering the injuries to Horne, Wilson et al) I'd have cut your hand off, deep fried it, and presented it as modern art.
The tries will come. Practically all of our games gave been played in or immediately following major rain. Despite the old Guscott cliches , Glasgow's style simply is not suited to autumn conditions - the sooner things crisp up, the better.

Will take that result in a heartbeat - always a tricky place to play rugby. Still maintain the person we are missing most is Hornee furra Linnee. Ryan Wilson too. Did Big Naka get on last night anyone ?

An away win in a windy Connacht is not to be sniffed at, and it sounds like Weir had a good game, out Parksing Dan Parks with the boot. Glasgow still very nicely placed in the league, and in my view have still to hit top form.
