Heart Break Hotel
Just watched the ITM Final,Wellington must feel gutted unbeaten all season in the league stage[as far as I can gather.
Then Canterbury away from home really stuffed them, quality from both sides was enormous. BUT Canterbury could
with a little luck had at least another 3 tries.Six in a row that is impressive stat for any side.

Canterbury were always going to win this Alan. They're way too strong in finals. Six straight wins as well. Wellington peaked too early lost their only match vs otago the week before the semis.

Heart Break? Not for me.
Would love from a NZ point of view for Auckland to be challenging for the final with their new young talent. I don't subscribe to the theory that when Auckland rugby is strong, NZ rugby is strong (now is a great example of that as the talent is spread throughout NZ) but I do believe that it certainly isn't a bad thing for NZ rugby. I have faith in Jk and Ted that they can turn the league conversion around and instil some pride and popularity in Auckland rugby. Looking forward to the Blues next year as they're amassing some special talent and Benji Marshall is the perfect poster boy to attract union support from league circles.

That Canterbury side, even without its All Blacks would've beaten any club side on the day. Even Leinster, even if O'Driscoll was playing.

We lost to Hawkes Bay the week before the semifinal. We had a guaranteed home semi against Counties and we played like pooh!

Auckland thrashed them 4 weeks ago. Without the ABs several clubs would beat any of the ITM sides.GloriousEmpire wrote:That Canterbury side, even without its All Blacks would've beaten any club side on the day. Even Leinster, even if O'Driscoll was playing.
