Tyson Fury Quits Boxing on Twitter.......Then Makes A Comeback According To His Uncle Peter (Edit)
Controversial heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury has shocked fight fans by announcing his sudden retirement on Twitter.
MORE: Haye reveals retirement plan
The 25-year-old Mancunian made the announcement just days after David Haye, who was due to fight Fury in February, announced his own plan to retire following serious shoulder surgery.
In his tweet, Fury simply stated: ‘Hi every1 I have officially retired from boxing. There’s to many bent people in the sport. They will have to f*** some1 else. Good by boxin.’
Fury also appeared to allude to his decision to quit by changing his Twitter bio to ‘ex boxer’ and his byline to ‘Tyson avoided Fury’.
EDIT
Tyson Fury’s trainer and uncle has denied the boxer has retired from the sport and his promoter have confirmed talks have started for a possible fight with Deontay Wilder.
Peter Fury took to Twitter to put the story to bed and said his nephew would be back in the ring soon.
Fury was clearly enraged by Haye's announcement and took to Twitter on Sunday to criticise his fellow Briton. Mick Hennessy, Fury’s promoter, said the boxer was shocked at the way things panned out with Haye but he is hoping a fight with Wilder can be arranged.
‘We have had talks with Wilder’s people and we are in discussions at the moment but obviously there are a lot of pieces of the jigsaw we need to fit together,’ Hennessy said.
‘We are looking at a number of different options but one thing we do know is that Tyson is one of the biggest draws in world boxing at the moment and as soon as he is ready we will look to get him back in the ring.’

Would suspect he has no more quit boxing than I have quit drinking Guinness.

Would prefer it if he quit Twitter...but even the longest journey begins with a single step (according to Hong Kong Fooeycius)

Attention seeking to keep him in the Limelight and possibly try and get Wilder into a fight.
Thought I better state the obvious before everyone else does.
Though an easier way of doing this would be to knife his own face of course...

I think Tyson's a genuine guy -- if he's tweeted that then he'll believe it. Can't be easy training for six months for sweet fanny adams.
Of course, once he's offered a payday he'll be back -- depends what state he's in I guess. He may let it all hang out.

The ultimate would be for Fury to pull out of a fight citing and injury sustained in sparring...and for it to transpire it was caused when he uppercutted himselfrick_dagless wrote:Attention seeking to keep him in the Limelight and possibly try and get Wilder into a fight.

This has come quickly off the back of calls for him to take a rematch with Chisora...I smell some avoiding going on.
The lad is a bit all over the place so wouldn't actually surprise me if on the spur of the moment he has decided to jack it all in, then again he is a notorious self publicist and will do anything to stay in the public domain so make of it what you will...perhaps he will just stay retired till the brothers have retired then make his huge come back for a world title against non other than Haye!!

If Chisora was in the shape he has been lately then I think a rematch is probably the best option out their for Fury, except of course Wilder which just isn't going to happen.
Problem is it's all risk and no reward for Fury so I can't see him taking it.

Re: Tyson Fury Quits Boxing on Twitter.......Then Makes A Comeback According To His Uncle Peter (Edit)
Think the problem for Fury now is motivation.
He was looking at a huge payday and even if he lost (which he would have done) he was only a win or two from a title fight.
Now he's got to get himself up to fight for maybe 10% of the purse if he's lucky.
As someone said above, risk/reward is all screwed up for him now.
Haye was his big opportunity, even if he were to get a shot at Wlad I don't think it would be PPV.

Why on earth would anyone want a Fury v Chisora rematch for?
Chisora would lose again. Probably getting KTFO this time
No thanks

There's still some suggestion that this is in fact the work of that slimy toad and unashamed self promotor Adam Booth.Reborn-DeeMcK-Reborn wrote:This is probably Hayes fault if you look into the finer details.
I say "some suggestion" ....once Strongy's finished having yet another angry w@nk over all things Hayemaker, he'll be on telling us in no uncertain terms that the blame for Fury quitting boxing can be laid squarely at the feet of Adam Booth

Re: Tyson Fury Quits Boxing on Twitter.......Then Makes A Comeback According To His Uncle Peter (Edit)
Oh yes because I forgot that Fury dominated him in their first encounter, in which Chisora was in absolutely no shape at all (not Tyson's fault of course).
The fact is their are very few fights out there for Fury at the moment which a) Would sell well enough for him to make any kind of decent return b) represent a good ratio of risk/reward
Of course he could just continue knocking out over the hill bums on Channel 5 in some shopping center whilst sharing the bill with the world conquering De Gale!

Who cares!!?? He was a laughing stock before he signed for the Haye fight and nothing much has changed since then.
I was hoping he would do a number on Haye just to see him sing again, thats comedy gold right there but it will be back to "bigger and better things"
Rogan just got sparked in a round a few days ago, sure that puts him at the top of the queue for Fury.

I think Fury should be upbeat..........He can make up the millions he lost by waiting Wlad out or honing in on the WBC.............
In the meantime his stock has gone up because he was willing to fight the Man and the Man backed out.......
Fury has gained more respect as a whole over the last month and is now firmly entrenched as Brit number 1........

I wonder if this is a reaction to the discussions today about the Wilder fight.
Fat Mick was meeting with Wilder's people to see if they could work out terms.
Maybe the negotiations went badly and Fury has had a gutful.....
Sure he will be back in the game when the realities of the tarmaccing industry kick in.

Re: Tyson Fury Quits Boxing on Twitter.......Then Makes A Comeback According To His Uncle Peter (Edit)
Beyond Wilder he's got nowhere to go really. A rematch with Chisora is dangerous to say the least because Chisora looks like he gives a shat now. Price is gone, Tony Thompson is viable but other than that where can he go? Stiverne won't give him the time of day because he's a relative nobody outside of the UK, he's done nothing to earn a Klitschko fight, Arreola is a possibility but again it won't sell in America and nobody has heard of Arreola over here.
Rock and a hard place. Feel sorry for him in some ways, but then I think about the things he says for the cameras and media and then I think.....well deserved, karma etc.

I know, I'm just saying that there does seem to be a lack of objectivity where he's concerned unlike the way I have nothing but level headedness when discussing Carl "the Warrior, a proper warrior not like Glen Johnson, not him that plays for Liverpool, the other one who calls himself the road warrior, that's not a warrior, I'm a warrior, fighting in the trenches, deep water, not afraid to swim and get wet but prefer the trenches cos you can drag people into the trenches, I suppose you can drag people into water too but it's not the same as trenches, yeah I know that there's trenches under the sea, massive ones, bigger than ones of land that I fight in, maybe I should think about getting wet and dragging them into the underwater trenches and drawing a line in the sand although the water would probably mess that up and you wouldn't be able to see the line, I might just stick to fighting in the trenches underwater without lines or just go back to fighting in normal trenches although at the moment I'm all about fighting in the streets and they alreay have lines on 'em so I wouldn't have to mess about drawing lines cos they're already there in the street having been drawn by somebody else, hang on does that mean some else has draw a line in the sand or road and they're offering me out? Well, we'll just have to get into the trenches and sort it out like Warrior or street fighters but probably warriors like what I am," Frochhampo171 wrote:I wasn't having a go at Haye, Dave. Find it amusing how people say he's got nowhere to go...........
He has the opportunity now of having a couple of easy fights knowing he has credit with the public because he was going to fight the respected Haye!!!
and in the meantime Wlad gets even older or retires and leaves fame and riches at Fury's feet.......
Fury is in good shape.........If only he can see it.

Tyson Fury's mood will not improve when he hears that David Haye was road bowling in Ireland - just days before pulling out of their February 8 fight.
Haye withdrew on Sunday, claiming he has been advised to retire after undergoing a five-hour operation on Thursday to rebuild his shoulder.
However the two-weight world champ looked fine when he tried his hand at road bowling while filming a new TV series with comedian Seann Walsh.
The Irish Examiner reports that Haye and Walsh, who are touring Ireland for the programme, visited Barryroe GAA on Saturday of last week and watched an underage hurling training session before having a go.
They then tried road bowls.
It all becoming clear now. Haye tried a couple of real sports in Ireland and ended up with a busted shoulder.

Hard though Truss...
He's just shelled out big money on his training camp with the expectation of making £5m
Now he has to face the reality that the big money has gone, he might get 100k for his next fight.

OH NO HE DOESN'T!!!!

He's just depressed and desperate for a decent pay day after having 5 million squids pulled from his pockets by Haye and his injuries/fake injuries/maybe real injuries
He'll be back. There is not a ton of cash in doing nada.
