Robben played LW that match too, all be it drifted around a bit but was dangerous as usual. Played a key pass to Lahm (who played RW) for the third goal too.
Kießling looked sharp, great movement & nice finish for his goal. Was a constant problem. Hoping he has a quiet game tomorrow against us, I fear if Vida isnt fit to mark him he could be a handful for Evans.

I may just buy a RW & play Robben left, but saying the id get marked down for it.

Anyone here goes to the gym?  I've stopped going for two months but I used to burn 600 calories a day is that enough? 200 on the running machine 300 on cross trainer and 100 on the bike.  No weights at all pure cardio I want to lose one stone.

He has yeah but recent seasons hes used on the right & thats where everyone sees him now. Only when Ribby is injured hes on the left, so its not his regular position which make me think id be marked down for it.

Anyone seen Marky? Want to know when results are.

Yep. I tried last week & they said expected delivery date Jan. Went off to find a delivery address as there are offices on the ground floor of my building & I dont trust that, dont want it delivered to my work so though BOOM parents are retired they can take delivery only to go back to it being sold out.
Must of been a mad rush as its this Friday over here.

For the record, votes in from Tranq, myself, Miky, ZZZ, Afro, Gregers, Viva, Trebs and Nando. Lubo failed to send me votes, I don't know if he sent them to the wrong person but he'll be getting a -1 goal penalty as a result.

The names above can add £1m.

I didn't, but then I don't make a habit of checking every team.

Perhaps a 1 goal deduction to the final result for each injured player selected Whistle

A moral decision needs to be made as it's a bit of a spoiler, but the votes have Ajax winning with the majority not mentioning Ajax playing two injured players. It's just not fair.

That is absolute rubbish, they play two injured players and I do tactics identifying this and attacking these weaknesses yet lose.

I vote -1 vote for each injured player and -1 goal for not putting the list of injured players in the tactics (as clearly stated in the rules). And -1 for not voting...

I wont quite do an azzy but it will be close

Borussia Monchengladbach 1-0 ZwagAtletico
(Sam)

Votes: 2-2 (Benteke, Son) (Kießling, Gerrard), 2-1 (Sam, Son) (Jones), 0-1 (Kießling), 1-1, 2-0, 1-0 (Sam), 1-1 = 9-6 = Divided by 7 voters = 1.28-0.86 = 1-0

Monchengladbach Feedback:
Good/Bad - Quick, powerful and pacy attack/weak defensively
Gladbach - I liked the use of the wingers as they are a clear attacking strength. Both would cause the respective full backs problems. Not keen on Durm. Only playing IRL because of sheer injuries and has shown his inexperience regularly. I'd upgrade here next
Borussia BP: Xavo would like better in a 4-3-3 with midfielders trio who are closer and can play his passing game.
Borussia GP: Pace and directness from the attack which is going to cause teams problem the dark horses for me if Nando can keep his tactics spot on.

ZwagAtletico Feedback:
Good/Bad - Solid defence and midfield/weak in AM areas, Brady not good enough and Shirokov out of position
Zwag - Carrick and De Rossi is a great combo and would be ideal with Gerrard ahead of them if used correctly. Shirokov is out of position and needs to be played centrally and deeper. Toure and Davies need upgrading
Zwag BP: Sell one off Carrick, De Rossi or Gerrard and bring in a more naturally attacking player the team look stale and tired in midfield.
Zwag GP: ZZZ is a good manager who can turns things around tactically and transfer wise but needs to make a move now or will be left behind.

Both teams' Feedback:
Xavi was the difference maker today, gerrard couldnt keep him quiet and zwag paid the price, he laid the ball for both wingers on a plate today and they duly both put it in the net, gladbach are very strong in the middle and zwag playing predominantly narrower didnt work out well.
The scorer in this match is Kießling. I liked the setup of the formations and both sets of tactics are strong in my opinion and i think that the position that Gerrard was played in is the reason why i have given this match this result.
Great targetting of the wings by gladbach. Zwag could have done with going 5-3-2 or even 5-4-1 as the 3cams arent that effective
Zwag the more stronger team physically but Borussia looked more zippier and found gaps to attack with pace, both teams have periods where they controlled the game but it was Borussia who took advantage of the slower midfield of Zwag.
Gabi and Xavi are both too similar in the Gladbach midfield, passing the ball and sitting deep, neither is a ball winner. Gerrard was deployed smartly to get at Xavi. Shirokov and Brady able to get wider and get more space because of the full backs bombing forward. Kießling and Benatia was the duel of the game with both similar in ability. Mochengladbach should have had Son and Sam cutting in as both can score goals rather than whipping balls in. Benteke managed to get the better of Jones who put up a fight but wasn't good enough. Overall it is a very tight game and too tight to split the sides so I am going with a draw

--------------

Ajax 0-1 WHU
(Riviere)

Votes: 0-3 (Morrison, Kolarov, Riviere), 1-0 (Aubameyang), 0-0, 0-3 (Morrison, Kolarov, Riviere), 2-1, 2-0 (Lallana, Aubameyang), 1-0, 2-1 = 8-8 = Divided by 8 voters = 1-1
+1 to Ajax for 2+ more win votes
-1 from Ajax for not voting
-1 from Ajax for fielding ineligable players

Ajax Feedback:
Good/Bad - Plenty of pace in attack/need to choose players who aren't injured (De Vrij, De Jong), had to imagine Ajax as only playing 9 men.
Ajax Good: Solid tactics, good direction given. Good attacking players.
Ajax Bad: Playing injured players, must check the weekly injuries list. Start to improve defence
Ajax - I really like Clasie, De Jong and Eriksen in the middle. One thug and two classy youngsters! I felt the tactics used going forward meant you lacked any real focal point to your attack and meant you were unable to really stretch the opposition
Ajax BP: It's nice seeing inside out wingers but at times you want someone who can get in regular service to the strikers.
Ajax GP: Good solid all round side they have flair and trickery with the strength to match up with some of the teams

WHU Feedback:
Good/Bad - very creative midfield and much more solid defence/front two look lightweight without Mandzukic. Fortunate to be playing against 9 men.
FC WHU Good: Attacking use of wingbacks was good, when you up against a 4231 I dont think its imperative they get back to defend.
FC WHU Bad: General improvement to team, RWB is essential, keeper & better stand in strikers
WHU - Defence looks strong and would be hard for any striker to get the better of them. Injuries to Arteta and Mandzukic weakened you a lot and against a strong side, the replacements weren't quite up to scratch
West Ham BP: Playing the 3-5-2 will not always work as today proved you need something else in the locker to win games. I would like to see more attacking brought into the midfield.

Both teams' Feedback:
the way west ham set up today played right into ajax hands, with ajaxs widemen drifting inside, too many time auby was left in a 1 on 1 with chiricles, and he eventually got the better of both him and the keeper. west hame placed too much emphasis on their wingbacks today and they couldnt live up to their billing
I liked both sets of tactics and again i think they are both strong tactics. I have gone with this result because both sets of tactics seemed to even each other out in my opinion
Good set up from Ajax but fielding two injured players (CB & DM) did not allow them to carry out their intentions with good effect. Due to this FC WHU got a lot of the ball & applied a lot of pressure.
Ajax look more threatening going forward the players look to get the ball going forward much faster which gives them the openings they need. West Ham strong side but they looked off the pace they need more then Morrison to give them that attacking injection
like the front four of Ajax, all providing something different and against the back three works effectively. The cutting in wingers makes it difficult because Iraola and Kolarov getting forward means there is opportunity on the counter attack. Clasie and De Jong is a solid shield in front of the back four but the defense itself is very weak. West Ham look strong defensively but they need some more quality getting forward, they just don't look good enough and need one or two star players. Losing Mandzukic obviosly doesn't help but it just isn't good enough, and Ajax get a narrow win

----------------

Fool Em 0-1 Lille
(Pedro)

Votes: 2-2 (Sturridge, Costa) (Pedro, Sanchez), 0-1 (Pedro), 0-2 (Pedro, Remy), 2-1, 1-3, 1-2 (Di Natale) (Remy, Sanchez), 0-2 = 6-13 = Divided by 7 voters = 0.86-1.86 = 0-1

Fool Em Feedback:
Good/Bad - Very attacking system, I like it/too many players out of position (Clyne, Sturridge, Pjanic)
FoolEm Good: Good attackers & creative player(s) but not used properly.
FoolEm Bad: Tactical game plan just didnt cut it. You took your own strike force out the match.
Fool Em - I really liked the use of the forwards to split out wide defensively and they are two good strikers to use that tactic. Only issue I had is that the differing positions in attack and defence meant a lot of work across the side and only one subsitution led to the team tiring towards the end and nearly letting Lille back into it
Fulham BP: Costa or Sturridge need to be played through the centre or high as possible pushing up from deeper to attack was not a good look for them.
Fulham GP: A very good squad and if the manager can keep to a system and stick to it i can see them having a comfortable season

Lille Feedback:
Good/Bad - Beastly front three, swapping Remy and Sanchez causes problems for Fool Em/maybe more of a presence needed upfront, and a new CB alongside Vidic.
Lille Good: Good attacking trio with the wingers being the best, great balance & a real threat to all teams.
Lille Bad: Think Vidic could do with a stronger partner & an improved LB would be the next step to a "complete" starting XI.
Lille - The front three is really quick and dynamic and really well used. Will be really effective against slower defences. I don't like the midfield three. Bender and Rolfes are very one dimensional and need a true AM or box to box player to build off their defence. Sahin is not well suited to this
Lille BP: Remy is a good player but another option upfront is needed when they need to change it around. Improvements on the defence if they want to mount a title challenge.
Lille GP: I like the pacy wingers and the midfield compliment each other well they know when to break when to tackle

Both teams' Feedback:
Pedro is the scorer in this match. I liked the tactic given to attack with loads of pace and i also liked the counter attack tactic this is what i think helped the goal to happen
Not sure what FoolEm were trying having their forwards drop wide on the defensive & Volland step up. It just didnt work. Costa & Sturridge didnt defend or track well. Lacked width on the attack.
Lille are my dark horse for the league this season and they show why today. Pedro and Alexis vs those fullbacks does it for me. Not a fan of the split formation from foolem or sturridge going to left wing
Fulham not as good as normally far too much interchanging and expecting players to cover a which slows down attacks or when defending. It allowed Lille to use their most dangerous weapon the wingers go get forward. The balance in Lille midfield works perfectly getting passes forward and tackles

-----------------

PSV 0-1 Basel
(Villa)

Votes: 1-1 (Thauvin) (Villa), 0-2 (Villa x2), 0-0, 1-1, 1-0, 2-2, 1-1 = 6-7 = Divided by 7 voters = 0.86-1 = 0-1

PSV Feedback:
Good/Bad - solid midfield pairing and plenty of pace going forward/improvements needed in defence, Ogbonna is the only star there. Upgrade on Depay too.
PSV Good: Good structure, players were used well, to their strengths.
PSV Bad: Lacked that cutting edge attacking, few quality signings can change that.
PSV - Solid, difficult to break down with tactics improving each week. Doesn't seem to be much change to the personel and with the ever improving opposition, there's a danger of being left behind

Basel Feedback:
Good/Bad - plenty of creativity from the manager, and plenty of experience/not enough pace in the side, and I feel Townsend ruins Abidal with his pace. Rosicky out of position too.
Basel Good:
Basel Bad: Team balance was a bit off with right side width more left. Abidal is mainly a CB now. Villa not a target man for crosses
Basel - Vastly improved and Viva can take great credit from his efforts so far. Wasn't sure about the formation and a few players felt slightly in thw3 wrong positions.

Both teams' Feedback:
Basel won the midfield battle today, and the factors of villas coolness in front of goal and butlands inexperience pushed the advantage over to basel, psv did get joy from townsend up against abidal, but failed to create clear cut chances.
Tight game today with a lot of play running down the flanks, Basel did try play through the middle at times but I felt PSV were set up to deal with it.
A tight game that psv just knick. I don't like the front three from basle especially rosicky who looks out of place. Psv could do with a true defensive minded player and go three in the middle, lamps/paulinho not the best combo
PSV need a new defense as they just don't look good enough, Ogbonna aside. Going forward they look better with Lampard and Paulinho getting them into the game and Townsend destorying Abidal on his wing. I'd have liked to see Agbonlahor targetting Terry's lack of pace which would have worked better. Basel need to improve their wide players, but full backs and wingers, their side seems a bit of a mismatch with some quality and some players in who are nowhere near good enough. I'd have liked to see a 4-4-2 with Streller starting. Their high pressure works to begin with but I can see the players tiring later in the game. A draw is a fair result with both teams getting the one up on each other in different areas

------------------

Southampton 1-2 Ballbag
(Lukaku) (Rossi, Callejon)

Votes: 0-1 (Callejon), 1-1 (Lukaku) (Drogba), 0-1 (Rossi), 3-2, 1-1 (Totti) (Callejon), 1-2, 2-2 = 8-10 = Divided by 7 voters = 1.14-1.43 = 1-1
+1 for Ballbag for 2+ more win votes

Southampton Feedback:
S'ton Good: Good instruction to wingers, organised well on the defensive. Good central midfield trio but see bad point.
S'ton Bad: With a good tackling midfield trio Pirlo AND Xabi Alonso were allowed too much time to dictate the match & there passing ability cut you open. Ocampos not good enough.
Southampton BP: I would reckon more subtle and finesse from the midfield to unlock stubborn defences.
Southampton GP: Despite having most of the first team defence out the back up did well mainly from the strong midfield

Ballbag Feedback:
Ballbag Good: Perfect role for Rossi IMO, hes great in that CF/SS role. Having Alonso & Pirlo that bit deeper gave them the time on the ball, they werent pressured & they took control of match & pick out there passes.
Ballbag Bad: Strong across the pitch so improve keeper & being really picky wingers would be next.
Athletic BP: Very strong side and the next improvement for me would bring in a winger at a higher level.
Athletic GP: Possibly the best 4 in the league not much will get passed them this season

Both teams' Feedback:
southampton suffered from a real lack of creativity in the middle and that equated to a lack of ball for the front 3, and with ballbags midfield not being the most energetic midfield there could have been a different result with a playmaker in there.
2 very strong lineups. I will go with Lukaku and Drogba as the scorers. I think that the tactics given to both players will allow both players to score a goal for each of their teams, which is why i have gone for a draw as a result.
S'ton tried the right things to try win the midfield but didnt carry them out well enough. The midfield trio, two of which sat too deep. Quality passing from Ballbag's deep playmakers found the runs of their attackers
There will be goals with both sides missing key players. In the end for me it comes down to the cms and pirlo/alonso are outnumbered and outmanoeuvred by the saints midfield. Great match
Southampton very powerful and strong in the midfield allowing them to win the ball back and making it difficult for the Athletic holding midfielders to get a grip on the game. The rock solid back four of Athletic made it difficult for Southampton to get through them or break down. Afro did his homework on Southampton and attacked the wide positions which opened up Southamton
The highest quality match this week. Having Dante following Drogba, with some clever movement he was taken out of the game and it was a mistake for me, and with Rossi having fantastric movement I can see him getting on the scoresheet. The Ballbag wingers are rampant against weak full backs. Southampton going forward looks a bit average to me, Lukaku aside. The midfielders aren't the type to drive forward, which would be fine, but the wingers are dealt with well when they come infield by Pirlo and Alonso sitting so deep. Ballbag overall good value for their win, but the injuries are bad for Southampton and they can take pride from that.

Happy to get the win today. Agree I need to sort out CB, not sure whether to take the Vidic money or not though. Decisions.

Marky, in future games when predicting should we ignore injuries and have a goal deducted later?

Nice work Marky OK

Congrats Nando, quite a close match, If id have got a goal to get one extra win vote draw would of been on. One extra goal would of still seen you win with the +2 win votes.
Cheers for feedback people. I missed Robben badly. Got a bit of a cash flow issue too. Time to get trading I suppose.

I do prefer this new results calculation system, think its making results tighter, games tougher to win & quite competitive.

Do you not get one with the console? That's a major rip off otherwise that being said i don't care for playing with others beside me they irritate me so 1 controller is fine Smile

Viva, Ive found it hard finding good winger for low value, due to money being scarce in this league.

:music:Oi whos that O to the Z
Oi whos that O to the Z
Uh Oh he just missed a penalty
Uh Oh he just missed a penalty music

Whats going on with Barca hey. Missing Valdez? Messi?

Haha Nick you kill it bro I swear you should take over from Pete Boyle as the new song maker. The Jessie j remix was class.

I'm text that Ozil song to my brother it's so silly that it's hilarious what's the tune to the chant.

Ps4 is still out of stock how can they promise to send it during January

Phil "The Tank" Jones? Sorry that's only one but his tank like ability should count as two.
Funny how he can man mark people out of games, bother any Arsenal player around him in our win few weeks ago but cant mark Bentekkers out a match here Laugh

Hugo Campagnaro, Kolo Toure, Im actually open to offers on nearly all my players tbh.
