Bucs Turn Down "Hard Knocks"
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers last night announced that they have turned down HBO's 'Hard Knocks' in a somewhat suprising move.
Given recent off-field events concerning players such as Aqib Talib, Geno Hayes, Alex McGee and Jerramy Stevens, I feel that this is a good move by the Bucs.
Sure, 'Hard Knocks' would have give them a national exposure that they so desperately desire but after multiple arrests, the team and coaches needs to concentrate on football and not the country's perception of the organisation.
Hard Knocks cameras are give total access to the team's practise sessions and give a behind-the-scenes view of what goes on in an organisation and the Bucs, rather thanb constantly watching what they are saying and how they are saying it, need to just concentrate on becoming a better team and reaching the playoffs.

What did McGee do? Seems like the Bucs are going to be well known for being unruly and without respect for the law. They live up to the name Buccaneers,eh?

I can't see many teams being happy about HK coming to town and being a distraction when there may only be a few weeks (if any) to get ready for the regular season.
i'd be happy for Denver to do it in a few years but not in the foreseeable future with so much work to get done to get back to where we belong

Wow GSC, did you come up with that one all by yourself?
So who do we think will take Hard Knocks in this shortened offseason?

A team who wouldn't reject the chance to be on Hard Knocks would be the Atlanta Falcons, despite turning the opportunity down two years ago. http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcsouth/post/_/id/21288/dimitroff-open-to-hard-knocks

Hey, if they hold the season using replacement players, they could do a Hard Knocks about scab players, that would be compelling -- oh wait, they made a movie called the Replacements starring Keanu Reeves. Never mind.

Mangler - if it was a scab season, wouldn't it be Semi Hard Knocks?
GSC - if any of us were a comic genius, we'd have better things to do with our time than posting on here. Don't knock yourself.

Apparantly 12 teams have now turned it down. Totally understandable really, once the teams get back to work there will be far too much to do to have to worry about cameras being everywhere at the same time.

I think HBO should probably accept that with all the uncertainty that there simply is not going to be enough time for a team to think it's sensible.
Being rejected constantly can't be doing the shows image any good, even if their is an obvious reason
