The v2 Wrestling Podcast thread week commencing 2nd December 2013
I will update this thread each time a new show is posted.
Monday's episode is now online at http://v2wrestling.podomatic.com/entry/2013-12-02T12_27_12-08_00
Tonight, we take a positive look at TNA. For the first time in a long while, the company has a number of wrestlers under the age of 35. Adam, Chris, Gavin and Paul go through those wrestlers one by one, assessing their talent and potential, and predicting what lies in store for many of them.

Tonight, Chris, Gavin and Paul discuss wrestling's best big men, specifically those wrestlers whose pushes revolved around size and strength.
How does The Big Show compare to Andre The Giant? What are our opinions of Kevin Nash? Who are our personal favourite big men?

Tonight Chris is joined by Gavin, Paul and Richard to discuss a popular online theory about the upcoming Cena vs Orton match at TLC.
We talk about the possible scenarios should this situation occur, and the likelihood that it will actually happen.
But what is it? You'll have to listen to find out!

In a new monthly feature, Chris is joined by Gavin, Paul and Richard to predict/speculate/propose the Wrestlemania line-up. We talk about the likelihood of certain matches taking place, and what we would like to see.

It's another trip to the dreaded Room 619!
This evening, Chris, Paul and Richard battle to rid wrestling of their pet peeves, but will anybody be successful?

Re: The v2 Wrestling Podcast thread week commencing 2nd December 2013
Don`t get me wrong, but I think part of the reason why Magnus will never be the kind of CM Punk/Jericho promo specialist is because of his British accent. His accent doesn`t carry as well as some of his American/Canadian counterparts. Nevertheless, I think Magnus is a great prospect. I do think he`ll become world champion, but I don`t know whether TNA will transform him into the poster boy babyface, I think he has the potential to become.
With Manic, I think TNA have a gimmick on their hands that could be their equivilent of Sin Cara - but they`ve ruined the potential the character has. I understand the name change after Aries stole the Suicide gimmick to win the X-Division title. However, humanising him and seeing the man behind the mask destroyed the mystery of the character. I think TNA should have kept the mystery and pushed him within the X-Division so that kids get on board and buy the toy masks and wear them to the shows etc. They could save the character and rebuild but I think it`ll take a lot of hard work. Of course as I suggested before, for Magnus and Manic to reach their potential TNA would have to follow a PG format, which they`re not prepared to do yet.
ECIII has the look and having his win record inflated with no-bodies is a good angle in the whole preferential treatment gimmick he`s currently got. He needs to be given real feuds and matches with the likes of Samoa Joe, Aries and Anderson to establish him as an upper mid-carder/main eventer. I don`t think he`ll become world champion though. There`s just something about his current gimmick that makes me think it won`t happen. For it to happen Dixie would have to put him into a world title match herself, rather than him earn it. But with a new (credible) world champion about to be crowned in either Hardy or Magnus and the predictable return of AJ to set up the unification title match, I think TNA have locked themselves into a genuinely competitive world title picture going forward into 2014. The only way I can see it happening, is for AJ to win the unified title match to Dixie`s horror and contempt and then force her to sanction a title match immediately with a fresh ECIII against a tired AJ. But I can`t see them giving AJ the prestige of becoming the unified TNA world champion only to have him lose it on the same night. I see AJ keeping the belt up until Slammiversary if he unifies the titles. They`ve invested in this storyline too much to give him a short, unmemorable and wasteful title reign. I do, however, think TNA have been smart in giving him the ECIII name, which like HHH who was able to ditch his aristocratic snob character, ECIII can become more streetwise and relatable in the future and lose his Carter connection.
I like Gunner, I think he has potential but I don`t see him ever becoming world champ. He would need some serious character development for that to happen and I just can`t see them investing in him. The best way to go about it is if they played on his military service and made him out to be an all-American hero type of guy, whose as American as apple pie and who`s ultra loyal and patriotic (not in the Swagger kind of way but rather in the Brian Stann UFC kind of way). Then you could book him to chase his dream of becoming world champ. That could possibly work, however, with so little tv time and such a crowded world title scene with a lack of mid-card title (bar the X-Division, which Gunner clearly doesn`t qualify for) I just can`t see Gunner breaking into the pack.
