Tonight's official fight thread
Let's get this party started.
I can't watch any of the action tonight due to being at work, a running commentary would be much appreciated.
Cheers!

Barker sturm i'm not really sure- doubt it'll be the most exciting fight, and dont see Barker stopping him, he'll have to do what Macklin did and win rounds on workrate, but last the distance better if he's in for any chance of a decision

Strum wins this one.
Barker should have stayed at home.

Re: Tonight's official fight thread
Actually think it'll be a half decent fight to be honest, am quite looking forwards to it to be honest. Not sure how much either have left in the tank to be honest and what with the fight being in zeGermanland, where blind chloroform sniffing rabbits score fights more accurately, isn't one I'll be putting any of my millions on.. That can go on a private jet to Bali for the wedding.BallchinianMuffwig wrote:Barker sturm i'm not really sure- doubt it'll be the most exciting fight, and dont see Barker stopping him, he'll have to do what Macklin did and win rounds on workrate, but last the distance better if he's in for any chance of a decision
Won't be staying up for Paulie and Judah to bore to me to suicide either, that will most definitely be a complete stinker.

Fry looks terrified when Enzo lets his hands go.

Re: Tonight's official fight thread
It has to be a left hook to the body or a right to the head which stops fry.

Enso seems to be loading up a little too much now he knows he can hurt him, good use of the jab
though.

Turning into a decent fight. Fry has a brilliant chin. Enzo needs to work the body more.

Fry seems to be cutting loose and Enzo looks tight. Scared to throw more than one shot at a time. Another good Fry round.

Re: Tonight's official fight thread
Nice left mid-round by Enzo, but still worrying signs that he can't cope with the speed advantage Fry has when he switches between head and body with combinations. And that straight right of Fry's seems to be getting through Enzo's guard with ease, too. Interesting to see how the fight goes from here.

Re: Tonight's official fight thread
At the end of the fourth Fry's coach told him to get in close because Enzo can't punch short. Where was he watching? Some of Enzo's left hooks were sickening! Corner throws the towel in after a brutal right hand. Great fight.

Well schooled average boxer is Thompson. Smith fourth round stoppage?

Re: Tonight's official fight thread
Smith landing at will with surprisingly powerful looking shots, he just needs to take his time and not walk onto something big.

Re: Tonight's official fight thread
Thompson landed once or twice so Smith needs to be careful when letting his hands go, good start though,

Re: Tonight's official fight thread
Smith doesn't need to hold his feet and keep a tight guard when Thompson unloads, needs to move his feet instead.

Thompson breathing heavily already, Smith could finish this by the half way stage.

No point in allowing him to come out for that round, the ref was just waiting for a clean shot to land.

I would have liked to have seen how Smith would have reacted if he was pushed onto the back foot a little more. Undeniably brilliant on the front foot though, great performance.

Think Brook is trying too much to be like his hero Naz by trying to match his hot dog consumption.

Re: Tonight's official fight thread
All this talk of Barker's rematch clause, if Sturm wins.
With the IBFs regulations, if Barker does lose he's got to ensure it's not by KO.
As under IBF regulations, you can't have an immediate rematch if you are KO'd.
