Will Andy ever have the right mental approach to win a grand slam?
Andy hasn't had the right frame of mind and mental approach recently when going into big match semis and finals. He's came close on many occasions but has always fell at final hurdle.
Will Andy ever win a Grand slam? Or will he just loose his bottle like in the past.

In the past he has had a tendency to get over cooked with the occasion in Slams and unluckily play the No1 twice and another who was at the beginning of a career beating run that hasn't ended, yet.
He's getting better at handling the pressure, but in the end, in the Slams, its all down to belief and he is beginning to believe in himself.
That can only be good for the moments he gets himself into a position to win a slam.

I don't think it is a mental thing with him not winning a slam. I think when you meet a player on a hot streak or in the form of their career it is difficult to elevate the level required. I have no doubt he will win a Grand Slam.

Murray needs to learn to win the crucial games, points and close an opponent out. he gets too close often but just let's go of the squeeze too quickly at the end....

It's just a momentary lapse of concentration

To be fair his last Slam final was against a man who is still currently on a hot streak and whoever played him was likely to come off second best.
I am confident he will win one and if that does happen soon it could probably lead to a few more.
Having the right coach in place I think is a must.
Having just finished reading Agassis autobiography "Open" there are a lot of similaities there on this front, Cahill and Gilbert having coached both Agassi and Andy and the value Andre put on both of them, so who knows it may work for Andy now that Cahill is on board!

I think Andy has a good enough game to take a slam, and that he has shown good big match temperament in the past (you don't win Masters Series finals or slam semi finals as a mental midget). It is true though that he is yet to do himself justice in the slam finals he's reached - OK, so he's mostly been beaten by the better player on the day (Federer playing his best is too much for anyone on hard courts, and we all know about Djoko's form this season so far), but he's also tightened up a bit once he's got behind in the matches.
I hope that the changes to his coaching set up will give him a few different opinions and will be people that he listens to rather than simply being someone he likes to have around. There are encouraging signs this clay season in that he is going through the forehand (especially the in to out) better than sometimes, and (perhaps out of necessity because of the ankle) is generally being a bit more positive in his tactics.
