Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Round Eleven
Newcastle Falcons side to face London Wasps
Falcons make 2 changes from the side which played Exeter last time out with Matt Mullen coming into the side at loosehead and Charles Pitatau coming into the back three sees Ben Smith move to 13 with Adam Ashley Cooper moving to full back.

Newcastle Falcons have picked a team set around a dominate set piece with field position in mind as they aim to play a controlling game plan limiting Wasp's ball and playing the game in there half.
Up front we'll look to use a simple game plan in the pack , grinding out phases and taking Wasps on up front and generating clean and quick ball for Youngs at 9 who will look to marshall his pack around the field and keep the Wasp's back row honest at the ruck. We'll look to go in 2s to ensure we can't be turned over at the break down and secure our own ball. We've got a good scrumming front 5 a lot has been made of Franks lately and i'm sure you don't stay the All Blacks TH if you can't scrummage. Read will look to dictate the tempo of the game at the base controlling the ball and testing the Wasps line off side line and how patient Steffon Armitage is at 7.
Dan Bigger will look to ping the ball in behind the Wasps wings to see if we can exploit the space in behind them knowing that if we continue to put the ball behind there winger he'll eventually drop back expecting the kick and then we can move the ball to our fantastic broken field runners such as Smith , Pitatau and Sharples. Patience is the key word to our attack and in Dan Bigger we have plenty of that.
In Defence we'll look to be aggressive around the fringe and putting our man to deck early and getting over the ball to slow down or turnover Wasps ball. The backs will look to absorb the Wasps runners rather than jump out of our line too leave gaps for Habana and Yarde to come through. When defending and expecting a kick the blidside wing will come round and stand behind our 10 pushing the 15 across so all area's of the field are covered leaving the Wasps kicker with little choice but to kick it down our throat and let us run it back or kick too the space. In open play Youngs will sweep behind the line to cover.
Set Piece will be the key to this game and we've got a good lineout with 5 good lineout operators in the pack who will all be able to take ball on. POC will call the lineout as well as jumping at the front to pressure the Wasps lineout.

Saracens
Manager – Pooly
16. Chris Whitehead 17. Alex Waller 18. Clement Ric 19. Tim Swinson 20. Tom Guest 21. Chris Cook 22. Gareth Steenson 23. George Lowe
Tactics:
General - We've selected a team packed with power and physicality and will look to dominate the contact and get over the gain line. We'll be playing a high tempo physical game from the off, look to smash the opposition back and get into the rucks/maul's and drive through. We'll look to tie the opposition in and then get at their backline, more so in the their half. Look to keep it tight in the forward pack and grind through work.
Scrum - Look to get a platform from the off with a strong scrummaging unit. Strong front 5 with big locks will look for the big push once the ball is in and drive the opposition back. Our LH and Hooker will look to target Botha and try to get between him and Ward to allow JdP to work on Beast. If no weakness seen will use as restart.
Line out - Look to play it safe and use the rolling maul to good effect. Our big pack should have a lot of joy here and will tie in the opposition defence. We'll look to contest on opp throw especially when Youngs get on the pitch as we feel we can really pressure him.
Defence - High intensity and big hits, looking to drive past the ball player. Huge physical pack that can look to dominate the collision and breakdown allowing Smith etc a chance to slow down/steal ball. Scrum half to sweep behind the defensive line.
Attack - Keep things simple in our own half then look to unleash backs in opp territory. Scrum half to inject pace from the breakdown and have JD on his shoulder. Burrell to run at 10 channel and target possible weakness. Burrell also to be used as decoy running at Bast looking to take him out of the defensive line to free up space for JD to get at the outside.
Points -
No TH Replacement on bench for Exeter - Look to work on Botha, he rarely lasts a full game lately so will look to really tire him out and get one of the replacement LH's on for Barcella and Waller to work on. Can see numerous pens coming this way late on in game.
Front row - Worcester have experimented with a new hooker for the last few weeks. Ward has little game time with that unit so we'll look to target him throughout.
Rolling maul and physicality - Look to use our physicality and drive through the opp defence, if weakness seen look to exploit.
Line out - Mealamu one of the best throws in the game and FvdM is becoming one of the best line out leaders in world rugby. Look to target opposition and get quick ball from our own if on.
Steyn - In great kicking form and will look to keep us ahead on the score board
JD kicking - look for him to use the grubber to get behind Bast who lacks a bit of turning pace
Real life form - Some fantastic real life form through the team, especially in the pack and centres/wings.
Form - We're putting some serious form together, beating Falcons at home and Exeter away in recent weeks. Worcester will find it tough to break us down, and we have the perfect FH to keep us ahead on the scoreboard
Game plan - Intensity and points on the board, keep it simple and effective and grind Worcester down and use the spark of our backline in the opposition half

Basic Game Plan
In wet conditions we will be looking to play a territorial game, utilising the boots of Farrell, Lealiifano and Anscombe to play in Falcons territory or force them to play from deep. When in Falcons territory we will look to carry close to the ruck and NOT attempt risky offloads. Our back row will look to support and hit rucks hard to free up quick ball. Our intention is to utilize our strengths, which are top kicking games in the backs, and then power in the pack to grind out a win.
In defence, as always we will be running a blitz defence. Our focus will be on the gainline collisions and driving back in the tackle. Line speed and no dog-legs will be key components for us. Smith will sweep in behind the defensive line to counter any chips/grubbers.

In defence, as always we will be running a blitz defence. Our focus will be on the gainline collisions and driving back in the tackle. Line speed and no dog-legs will be key components for us. Smith will sweep in behind the defensive line to counter any chips/grubbers.
Specifics
- Lineout. On our ball in the main we will go safe throwing to the front or middle and looking to maul and suck in defenders to create space. We will mix things up though and throw in the occasional one long or off the top to keep the Saints line honest. On their ball Hamilton will contest where we think it’s going with Millo-Chluski front jumping to put Coles under pressure.
- Scrum. Target the tighthead. With Wilson anchoring, Corbs and Bismarck to set low to really try to get underneath Franks and destablilize the Saints scrum.
- Breakdown. When we carry in, if we cannot get the offload away then the support runners will flood the breakdown rucking well past the ball to free it up quickly and go again. In defence, if we have made a passive tackle and the carrier has momentum we will not overcommit, but will maintain a strong defensive line. If we win the collision and knock the carrier back we will look to get the second man in hard over the ball to turn it over. Key for us is being selective.
- Attacking Play. We will play in the right areas, using the boots of Farrell, Lealiifano and Anscombe to ensure we dominate the territorial battle. When in the right areas we will look to tie in Falcons defenders by carrying close to the ruck until there is a safe pass on out wide to attack the defensive gaps.
Key Points
- Form. We are on a great run and have continuity of selection. Falcons have made lots of changes and are not consistent. We have all the momentum
- Key Positions. Our 2,8,9 and 10 are all first choice internationals for 3 of the top 4 ranked sides in the world. That gives us the experience and ability to control the game in these conditions away from home.
- Scrum. We feel we can get real dominance here with a powerful scrummaging front 5, and if we get on top in this area, we will play on it, and scrum again and again and again to really exert a psychological advantage.

We will play a fast paced, high intensity offloading game looking to create space for our halfbacks and to get our back three onto the ball as much possible.
- Target the scrum. Good technical front row supported by plenty of grunt will look to get on top and win penalties.
- Attack from the lineout. Five genuine jumping options allows us to mix it up and really use the lineout as an attacking platform. Look to get the ball to Barrett with space outside.
- Look to mix up play. Barrett & Zebo to interchange at first receiver and change the point of attack. Care provides a threat snipping around the base.
- Get the back three involved. Zebo, Gilroy and Abendanon all to run lines looking for the inside ball or offload to get in behind the opposition defence.
- Hit the breakdown hard. Look to our dynamic front five to clear the ruck and allow the likes of Nyanga & Kvesic to really attack the breakdown.
- Straight line blitz defence focusing on a quick line speed to isolate the ball carrier before the gain line. Care to sweep in behind to cover chips and grubbers.

We will play to our strengths and play a game built around our intelligent HB's controlling the game and the power and strength of our side.
- Attack at all scrums with our huge pack - Cole and Sheridan to look to really get into the opposition. An area we will look to target if winning.
- Attack at all lineouts. Use Joubert or Pape at the front and Horwill off the top as our three key options.
Shortened lineouts with Burger in midfield as crash or decoy option.
- Put serious pressure on Kayser's throws with Joubert at the front on all Sale's throws.
- Target the breakdown - huge emphasis on our work at the breakdown today and we will always look to turnover possession. With Burger and SOB, and the likes of Cole and BOD too, we feel our breakdown play could be crucial today.
- Gigantic pack made up of massive line-breakers, used in the tight to tire down the Sale defence. The likes of SOB, Burger, Pape, Moore and Horwill to be used to target the Sale 10/12 channel.
- In attacking play, we will look to get runners attacking the gain line looking for gaps. We do want to control the game, mixing up the point of our attack and looking for where the gaps are.
- In attacking play, we will play with the option of 2 first recievers in Wilko and Twelvetrees. We want to control the game, mixing up the point of our attack and looking for where the gaps are.
- Target the Sale back three if looking vulnerable with form issues there. Look to the in-form Mike Brown to win the 15 battle and give us counter-attacking options as much as possible.
- We will look to employ a blitz defence, focusing on a quick line speed to hit the ball carrier before he gets to the gainline. We have aggressive forwards to carry out this instruction. Fotuali'i to sweep behind with an eye on short kicks.

Northampton Saints versus Bath
Manager: Dammit Chris
Subs:
16. Tatafu-Polota-Noa 17.Mako Vunipola 18.Carl Hayman 19.David Pocock 20.Billy Vunipola 21. Leigh Halfpenny 22. Manu Tuilagi 23. Joe Simpson
Key selection points:
* Team selected to play high intensity, fast-paced attacking game to make best of conditions, run Bath over the field and look for tries from the off. Aim to wear down Bath defensively before we bring on the bench.
* Huge impact bench to bring on in second half and finish final 30 minutes very strongly - early intros for Mako, Hayman, BV, Pocock and Manu Tuilagi.
* Forward pack picked to win the collisions and gainline battle - also fresh pack, with Hartley, Thomas, Mumm, Cane and Luatua not starting last week.
Tactics:Saints will play a high intensity/tempo'd game from the outset and take the game to Bath. We will look to place Bath under pressure with a really physical, aggressive approach and defence to force errors and mistakes to exploit. We will look to win the gainline battle and the collisions with our big ball carriers and generate quick ball for our backline. We want the game to be open and expansive and have picked a backline that can score tries from anywhere.
Win the forward battle: Great conditions for our forwards, picked a mobile pack, with a lot of ball carriers and physicality to take the game to the away side and get a good platform for our halfbacks. Will target Ben T and Liam Gill as they have only just joined Bath, and will also pressurise Messam at no8 where he is not a natural.
Setpiece: Plenty of lineout options with Hartley recalled to start and Lawes, Luatua and Parisse all good jumpers. We will aim to generate plenty of quick ball to attack Bath. Will use Lawes athleticism to disrupt Hibbards throws and give them scrappy ball, as they only have two jumpers. Will aim to attack off our scrums and get Matawulu harassing Messam at the base of the scrum and stopping Bath getting clean ball.
Breakdown/Backrow: Mobile and strong pack to really attack Bath at the breakdown, Cane and Luatua to really target turnovers and to slow down opposition ball, will look to clear him out in numbers and attack the fringes at the breakdown. Will also aim to knock Bath back in the tackle to stop their forward momentum and give us the advantage of hitting the rucks going forward.
Possession/Territory: Perfect conditions for Saints, will want to get the ball in the hands of our pack who are all big ball carriers and get us over the gainline and suck tacklers in to create space outwide. Have Toomua/Giteau to interlink and put us in key areas of the pitch and will be used to bring our backline into play. Great attacking options throughout the backline.
Attack the Gainline/Win Collisions: Again look to win the collisions and get over the gainline to provide our backs with the platform to attack, big ball carriers in the pack who can all get us over the gainline.
Defence: Aggressive blitz defence, putting pressure onto the Bath halfbacks. Specifically picked Toomua as no10 due to his big tackling and will look at him to get in Hodgson's face. Will look for big hits and to force mistakes. Matawulu to sweep behind and backthree to counter any loose kicks.

Game plan
Selected a physically strong side to compete with the physicality of the Quins side. With the conditions looking likely to prevent any quick rugby out wide and increase the chances of mistakes, Chiefs will implement a simple territorial game and look to be playing with the ball within the opposition 22.
Every time we are in the Quins 22 we will look to at least leave with three points to keep the score board ticking over and to build a lead.
Simple set-piece game which we look to dominate our own ball, and contest every opposition put in. The pack that has been selected is mobile and strong around the park, especially in the tackle, on the floor and ball in hand.

Key Points
- The side is in good form, and unbeaten in the last 3 three games.
- Target Cooper in the slippery conditions. He won't want to throw too many long passes in the wet!
- Same side from last week, looking to avenge the close result from against the falcons.
- Flood will kick all points available, he can kick from within their half, so this indicates that Quins should be wary of giving away penalties.
- Play a simple game in the slippery conditions.
- 6-2 split on the bench to combat the forward physicality late on and shift momentum.

Attack
- Parling will lead the line out and look to set rolling mauls to keep hold of possession and make Quins give away penalties. Look to set the maul first then drive, and try to keep resetting the maul.
- With solid props in either team this will allow Webber to get on top of Brits in the scrum. Williams will look to make runs into the open at Cooper, as these conditions Williams excels in.
- Pack filled big carriers to provide a number of options in the tight exchanges. Look to keep moving the point of attack with clever offloads and forward interplay. Look for forward pods outside the third guard in the line to really stretch their defences and get over the gain line to create momentum.
- Look to flood the breakdown and clear out bodies, to keep ball clean so that the halfbacks can dictate the game. (Eg AB's or Eng vs AB 2012 style)
- The backs are all possess good kicking games and are decent under high ball in the wet. They will look to peg Quins back in their 22, and throw in the odd high bomb to fall outside the 22 to create the opportunity to gain a scrum.
Defence
- We will use a Blitz drift line in defence to cut down Cooper's options and push him inside towards our back-row.
- Machenaud to sweep behind the defencive line, and to counter any loose kicks or turnover ball - either by quickly shipping it wide to the back three, or kicking in behind their back three.
- The whole pack is mobile and capable of getting over the ball at the breakdown. Look to powerfully clear opponents out of the ruck, and use the strong tackling to keep chopping down the Quins runners.
- If we kick in behind their back-line or back three, we look to at least make them have to turn into an advancing black line which will not allow the receiver time to make decision or escape with clean ball. Every kick to be chased, the kick is as only as good as the chase.

Overall: Look to play flowing rugby with Hodgson pulling the strings. We have a mobile, dynamic pack and will be hoping for a set-piece and open play advantage. We expect to be far too physical for Northampton
Scrum: Set the scrum quickly and try to exert pressure on the Northampton scrum. Healy and Hibbard will look to target Thomas who has struggled with new interpretations. If we enjoy early success here we will relentlessly attack
Lineout: Whitelock to call with Lobbe, Messam as jumpers and Kitchener as a banker ball option. Look to get up into the air quickly and down for a quick maul
Breakdown: Not looking to be over committed at the breakdown but if a turnover is possible then be aggressive. Gill will be supported by Haskell and Messam at the breakdown.
Defence: Banana Blitz Defence looking to slow down the ball and put pressure on inexperienced Toomua. FDP to sweep in behind.
Our half backs will control our rugby. FDP and Hodgson can play what they see and put the rest of the back line in strong positions. We have strong runners who can get over the gainline throughout the side with a very dynamic pack and a big back line. Look to hit the defence hard and recycle quickly tying in Saints defender to attack out wide. Nalaga, Cuthbert and North are huge on-form backs and can exploit situations in which they are allowed to run at defenders and suspect defence for Wade and Daly.
Kicking: Hodgson and Hogg both have big boots and will look to incorporate their kicking if successful. They will look deep into corners where we can put pressure on a poor Saints line out. They will also look to target Wade under the high ball.
Substitutes: Our subs will look to keep a high tempo. Pocock, Manu andTPN all struggling for form.

Key Points
Form
We have taken at least a point from every game, have one of the best defences and are near the top of the table for tries scored.
8-9-10-12-13
We want quick ball for our half-backs to tactically put us into territory (off the pitch). Our 8-9-10-12-13 will look to be influential and all have played together in this game alot so know each other well. These can all be standout playmakers who will look to control the game at our tempo in the light rain we will not expect attractive rugby.
Lineouts
Our lineouts have been picked on and targetting quite often however, we have selected a team with powerful lifters and consistent jumpers so Tolofua will be used to their jumping. Any messy lineouts will go to the prop standing at the front and driven on. We will look to maul alot of ball if it is not on.
Attacking
- We want to force errors from and will target the 12 channel by sending big runners down his channel.
- Kockott and Evans to play what's in front of them and look to McAlister who will look to play in Smith or snipe as much as possible. If it isn't on then Evans will stick it in the corners and, with Kennedy, Gorgodze, Higginbotham we have the number jumpers to gain the ball back, we know they will be dangerous here so will look to avoid his area and mix up our lineouts.
- Look for runners off of 10 and 12 channel to make the initial break before sending the ball out wide to JSD and Cummins.
- We will look to use our big pack to carry alot of ball and, if it isn't on then run off of 9 and take a couple of 'up the jumper' phases to drag defenders in.
- Our back three will look to come off their wings and hit the right angles.
- Power to close out the win in Lindsay, Stevens and Dusatoir will have a field day against tired legs, excitement to continue to target the tired players through Moates' sniping, heavy impact at the scrum to come on and Geraghty can continue to control the game and bring further excitement and pace..
Set Piece
- Strong scrum which will get the edge up on the Jones and a good bench to come on as well to continue the pressure, 8-9-10 is a move we will use alot.
- We will use the maul to get ourselves up the pitch quickly and power over from short distance.
- Lineout has been mentioned previously where we have many strong jumpers here who will look to control attacking and defensive ones.
Defending
- Banana blitz defence targetting slowing down the ball led by McAlister so he has no time to kick or give quick ball to the centres (we will have a backrower on Evans's shoulder to look for quick turnover ball, we will protect the channels to stop 9 sniping.
- Kockott will look to sweep and counter attack off any kick through's.
- We will hit the breakdown quick to give Tipuric time to get over the ball and obliterate any protection they have in place.
- If the turnover isn't on we won't commit and will fan out defending inside-out.

Quins Tactics
Game plan dependent upon wind position. When we have the wind at our backs LAidlaw and Cooper will look to kick behind Varndell and get to the corners. (See Cooper in AI's to see just how well he does this). Cause Varndell to turn round put huge pressure on with the kick chase. When wind is in our favour we will look to turn the screw and keep the pressure on Exeter by not giving away silly penalties and Laidlaw taking the points on offer but if we are dominating we will look to make this show with tries from usual Quins tactics of ball retention and big carriers off 9 and 10 before spreading the ball wide when quick ball arrives and the Chiefs defence in at sixes and sevens.
When the wind is in the chiefs favour ball retention is the plan when outside our 22. We will look to use pick and go's and carriers of 9 and 10 to keep possession attempting to build Chiefs frustration and get penalties from which to escape our own territory.
Key in this game will be the breakdown when each side is trying to keep the ball and we feel Warbs, Wood and the rest of our pack have an advantage here and we will look to dominate the breakdown area.
Also at the set piece we will look to use all 5 jumpers at the lineout to keep the Chiefs guessing and look to throw away from Parling. At the scrum really look to get at the Chiefs props and milk for penalties.

Target there scrum to put pressure on them. Stern lamp Strauss and figallo to really target the opposition. Steenkamp Strauss and figallo are two of the form front rowers in international rugby and will look to disrupt their ball massively.
On our ball we will look to anchor and get the ball in and away as we want to play an extremely high tempo attacking game.
Line out
we have four top jumpers and will look to pressure on there throw.
We will put tolofuas average darts under immense pressure.
On our ball we will vary it. We will be looking to drive in our half and go off the top mainly In their half.
Generally we will be looking to get our dynamic pack on the front foot and over the gainline to produce quick ball to give to carter. We have a pack full of carriers and pace so will look to target the breakdown by getting there first and hitting it hard. We have a lot of footballing forwards in our pack so will be looking to offload. The weather is decent so we will look to play at pace.
Backs
We will look for our 9 and 10 to run the show.
Carter will kick a lot initially as we want to win the territory battle. We like to examine the oppositions defence going backward so they will be tested out.
We see the length of Carter's kicking being able to give us territory so we can play in the right places.
When in their half we will look to hit them at pace. Murray can really up the pace and will look to hit carter so he can play. We have a backline that has pace subtlety and gas and feel that we have the ability to unlock their defence for lots of tries.
Carter will look to create mismatches and we will look to isolate players. This will be a quick high scoring game In these conditions and think our backs have the right blend.
We will also when it's on try the up and under and the cross kick.
Defensively we will look to blitz to put pressure on Evans. This could lead to some intercepts. Murray to act as sweeper

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Round Eleven
Newcastle Falcons 21 - 20 London Wasps
Up front this battle is a real physical battle. Can't really seperate either in the scrum as both have great props in the tight at the moment and the hookers are solid in the set-piece. The line-out is shaded a little more for Falcons as they have some jumpers which are a little quicker to get off the ground for me and can beat Wasps to one or two of their own throws. Around the park both packs are awesome, but for me there is a little more physicality in the carrying from Wasps, but they can go missing a little bit in defence. Falcons have a bit more quality and can attack out a bit wider, but their tight game plan sort of cuts down those chances.
I like both sets of halfbacks, both are all adept in the conditions and contain fly halves which can implement both respective game plans. Each have solid defence in the line, but Smith could be got at tactically if Wasps were to exploit him there. With both sides looking to kick to corners it becomes a bit of a kick fest at points. Both back three will see bucket loads of ball but I think Falcons can make a little more ground with their broken field runners. Whereas I feel that the Wasps wingers can be much more deadly off a first phase move from a set-piece. Toughie to call in the end with both sides putting some points on each other. Faz will keep it close, but I can't see falcons letting the results slipping at home.
Leicester Tigers 23 - 16 Sale Sharks
Both packs are set out well to play each others respective game plan. Scrum time this battle is very even and can't really seperate either when coming down to it. At the line out it edges towards Tigers a little more. Day has been in great form recently but Horwill and Pape have a stranglehold here on their own ball and can disrupt Sale. I like POM as a player but he is a better flanker than 8 for me. And against someone of Joubert's experience it means Sharks suffer a little. Kvesic hasn't really be in great form but will put himself about for Sharks, but I feel SOB and Burger will make themselves known all over the park.
The experience of Kahn and Wilko will outshine Spencer and Barrett. The sharks pair have some big potentials, but they will be taught a lesson in how to control the pace and territory of a game. Two big centres in the Sale midfield will get them some momentum. However the second boot of 36 and also BOD can help prod Tigers back into pressurizing situations for Sharks. The pace in both back three's is dangerous with ball in hand, although I can see Tigers getting more front foot ball, opposed to the Sharks receiving ball behind them, and being pegged back and on the turn. At home Tigers will control the game against a much rotated Sharks side.
London Irish 20 - 18 Gloucester Rugby
The Irish side is chocked full of big carriers and they will make some big holes around the park, and gather some strong momentum. Glaws have some units themselves but can't see them being as destructive, although much more dangerous in the wide channels. Tolofua's dart aren't great but with Kennedy his job is quite easy. I like the Irish plan to set mauls with the big players and in the slightly greasy conditions. Glaws have a bit more joy in the scrum and this can hinder Morgan off the back. Jones can anchor the scrum for Irish but Strauss will target him with Steenkamp.
Kockott and Murray is a great battle to watch as is Evans vs Carter. Can't really seperate either of them however. Murray is in good form but as is Kockott, whereas Evans and Carter have been good recently but look tired. Both again can't really be seperated in the centres as I like how both sets will look to play. If Glaws adopted the irish plan to bring the wings and full back into play off the centres the score for them could have been much higher! However for irish they get a real advantage off this tactical move. Both benches contain some good players to change the game as Glaws can up the carrying later on. But with that I think that Irish in the conditions and with their tactics up front they can milk some penalties and tries from their forwards.
Northampton Saints 27 - 23 Bath Rugby
big game for both here. Up front Bath get an edge as they will target Thomas who I agree has struggled with the new regulations. Big Ben as a new signing will be a little new, but there isn't too much different for being such an anchor in any scrum. The Saints second-row do help out their front row, and have been in great form as of late. No real winners in the line out as both have solid throwers and jumpers. I would have liked one of them utilised their strong line-out presence and use it to set up mauls or get some first phase moves with the wingers coming in.
Both back rows are strong, Gill and Messam can be slightly out of sorts but no real advantage, especially as Messam is a good enough 8 at this level. Gill vs Cane is a great battle, Gill will sneak it on the floor, but cane can link up more which suits the Saints game play. Du Preez and Hodgson will control the Bath game, and Du Preez edges matawalu - as Du Preez can push Saints back into their half with his and Hodgson's boot. The new combo in midfield looks like it could be danergous with ball in hand and North can exploit any holes in the defence, and exploit the size difference of North vs Daly. If saints can get the ball in the hands of their back three they can make some big impacts and score some tries, but the Bath unit have the same affect. The Saints bench is impressive and can really change the game towards their favour late on. I think Bath could have stolen this with a little more detail in some aspects of their tactics, but saints can just see off bath with their try scoring ability and pace in the forwards.
Worcester Warriors 14 -12 Saracens
One of the biggest games of the round. The scrum is about even as Warriors props have been in good form. Sarries scrum is strong around the experience of Mealamu and JdP. In the weather the scrum may falter a little but never side at fault. Both back fives are decent around the park. With Faletau being a major signing and really upping the game for Sarries. Warriors unit in the back row are in decent form and can really impose themsleves on Smith and Fearns, who respectively is just coming back from an injury which has side lined him for a while. Sarries looking to set a maul off line-outs is a good call as they can control possession and allow Steyn to play his management game. But with Warriors looking to run the same idea, means that it canbe a bit of mess at times again and slow down the game. Steyn has been good for SA but not so great for Stade. Trinh-duc has been great for Montpellier, but Steyn can control the game much better for his side. Yach helps equal that out but, and can control the game as well from the base and getting his forwards controlled more than Vermaak. Both back lines with ball in hand are dangerous but in the conditions there is a lack of chances to exploit the pace. Sarries more inclined to put the ball wide which can see Ashton and Fitz getting the chance to exploit Strettle.
With this being a real stop and start game, there is no chance for Sarries to get the momentum together to release their side and play their game. With this it will be a low scoring game and Yach can just push Worcester over the line at home.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Round Eleven
Harlequins 15 Exeter Cheifs 16
Quins have plenty of flair but Chiefs have some serious graft and try scoring ability and will sneak a very good win at the stoop.
Leicester Tigers 20 Sale Sharks 17
Tigers take forward battle for me and have a back line which could punish any side. Sale well set up and a good game plan
London Irish 24 Gloucester 20
Irish a very good and effiecent side and will get enough ball to score trys. But Gloucester ooze mintage. Very close score glaws back 3 dynamite.
Northampton 18 Bath 12
Close game with both having big brusing carriers , Saints at home and a bit more balance in backs North needs a good run at 13 to be rated there. No lock cover hurts Saints in a physical game.
Worcester 15 Saracens 15
Too close to call , both sides set out well with good balance. Big physical pack from Saracens see's them scrap for points. Yach and Steyn will swap points all day here. Ward playing well for Quins in real life helps Wuss here.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Round Eleven
Harlequins 28 - 26 Exeter Chiefs
Quins are always going to score tries with the way they set out to play and the conditions will still allow for them to play their usual way. They have one of the best backrows in the league and although Chiefs will run them very, very close the home advantage just makes the difference.
Leicester Tigers 28 - 23 Sale Sharks
Seems like a few Sale players have been rested for this game, while Tigers have gone full strength and have the power to really lay down a marking against another rival for the top 4 spot. A lot of big ball carriers for Tigers, but scores stay relatively close due to a lot of form from SJE's players.
London Irish 30 - 30 Gloucester
Tolofu's basics just about cost Irish a home win here. Don't think they will get enough joy/attacking ball in the lineout, espc as Kennedy has largely been used as a sub by Quins of late. The Irish backrow is top rate and will be a great battle here. Gloucester do have the WC players in key positions and are a team that will score with less ball. High scoring game, really like Irish backthree, Cummins was a v good signing for them.
Newcastle Falcons 27 - 25 London Wasps
Driver is starting to build some good combinations, the light rain just about suits his team's style and if it had been worse conditions then not many teams will beat Pete's with his pack and Farrell at no10.
Worcester 19-18 Saracens
Narrow win for the home side, will really be a kicking battle between Yach and Steyn, Nick's team has had a bit more time to gel and get combinations right, while Pooly's team will really kick on in the second half of the season and will be very hard to beat.

Quins 22-20 Chiefs
Quins will get the edge upfront with a strong pack on show. Chiefs are no shirkers in the outside backs or in the backrow but feel Quins have enough power in these conditions to hold out a close game. Tactically Chiefs are set out well and use Willams as a power runner. Quins using the weather well with good tactical kicking conditions.
Falcons 22-21 Wasps
In better conditions I feel Wasps would have taken this but Driver had picked good combinations and feel that their backrow will just get enough better ball for the win.
Tigers 21-19 Sale
Tigers are stronger here at half back and will release their outside backs quicker here I feel. Defensively, Sale are stronger but Tigers backrow and bench brings a bit more current form to the game.
Saints 23-20 Bath
Evens up front here with both teams bringing some edge to the scrum on each side. Outside this, Mumm playing very well and Saints are strong in the backrow. Saints tried and tested in outside backs, do like the look of North in the centres but Mallinder now saying he won't play him there annoyingly!. Saints set out to be abrasive in defence, Bath rightly target the scrum but don't feel it will be enough with the Saints 2nd row power.
Warriors 20-19 Sarries
Like the centres from both teams but a fan of FTD and his gameplay suits his outside backs. Steyn is no shirker and feel that Warriors have good combinations and a couple of key inform players such as Ward to steal this.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Round Eleven
Newcastle 25 - 23 Wasps
Edge to Wasps up front with their good scrummaging unit. Prefer the home side in the second row, whilst they win the back row battle too. Prefer Wasps at HB, but think Newcastle have a bit more in the centres, the back rows are fairly even. Really good game here, but Newcastle take this at home.
Harlequins 27 - 22 Chiefs
Advantage Quins up front, whilst the second row is a real good contest. Quins get on top in the back row, and they take the pack battle overall. One apiece in the HB's but Cooper gets his back line going today. Chiefs just edge the centres, with back threes quite tight. Quins pack upper hand sees Cooper dominate.
Irish 27 - 28 Gloucester
Edge to Gloucs up front on form, with second rows fairly even. Edge to Irish in the back row, but two nicely balanced units. Packs very close. Great HB battle, Gloucs might just edge, and beyond there Gloucs look much dangerous. I think Gloucs can just edge a great away win here.
Saints 29 - 26 Bath
Not a lot in the front rows, tough to split. See Bath getting on top in the second row, whilst the back row looks a good battle, maybe edge to Saints. Neither side dominate the pack for me. Bath have more about them at HB, whilst the centers are one apiece. Great back threes on show. This is really tricky to call here, Saints at home edge it.
Worcester 24 - 23 Saracens
Slight advantage to Sarries up front, and they edge the second row for me too. Grizzly front 5. Faletau top signing, but new addition and Worcs edge back row. Slight edge to Worcs at HB, whilst centre battle is excellent viewing. Prefer Worcs back three. Good game here, Pooly done wonders, but needs settling in period. Worcs just enough here.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Round Eleven
Newcastle Falcons 20-18 London Wasps
Scrum: Slight edge to Wasps with that monster front 5.
Lineout: Falcons more capable off attacking ball and may pinch 1 or 2.
Breakdown: Neither side should really slow down the opposition although both will pinch a turnover here or there with good operators on show.
HB's: Even here. Nothing between the combos or players individually.
Attack: Little more from Falcons with Smith/Pitatau the danger men.
Defence: Smith at 13 positionally can be really targeted.
Bench: Cruden can provide real impact for Falcons but Wasps can get at the breakdown a little late on.
Tactics: Both sides set up well with similar approaches somewhat. Nothing between them overall and home advantage takes it.
Harlequins 26-20 Exeter Chiefs
Scrum: Slight edge to Quins with the 2nd row helping to lock it down.
Lineout: Both sides capable off their own ball.
Breakdown: Quins front 5 will get through more work and see them eventually slowing Chiefs down.
HB's: Edge to Quins with both their HB’s stronger.
Attack: On current form not a lot between the sides.
Defence: JJ could be caught at 13 a little.
Bench: Quins with more quality to bring on in the pack. The extra man will help Chiefs but won’t prevent Quins getting on top in the last quarter.
Tactics: Both sides set up well but the Quins pack sees them through at home.
London Irish 15-18 Gloucester Rugby
Scrum: Irish struggle here with Tolufua at 2 and Jones not taking to the new laws.
Lineout: Glaws capable of picking off Tolufuas darts.
Breakdown: Irish capable of slowing Glaws down at times.
HB's: On current form nothing between the combos.
Attack: More strike runners in the Glaws backline. More of a carrying game from the Irish pack though.
Defence: Both sides fairly solid.
Bench: More impact from the Glaws bench.
Tactics: Both sets well thought out but feel Irish won’t get the success at the set piece needed to win with their approach.
Northampton Saints 18-20 Bath Rugby
Scrum: Edge to Bath with a decent front 5. Saints will be under a lot of pressure on TH side.
Lineout: Saints more dangerous off their own ball.
Breakdown: Slight edge to Bath with their front row very adept here. Could slow Saints down at times.
HB's: Big step up to Bath who can control the tempo from here.
Attack: Plenty of strike runners for both sides. Baths backs more capable of getting over the gain line though.
Defence: North at 13 could be targeted positionally with smart decoys.
Bench: Unsure on Luatua going to lock where he would be up against Romano & Whitelock. Vuinipola’s can give impact in the carrying game.
Tactics: Both sides with decent tactics but feel Saints won’t be able to get the tempo they want here with the Bath halfbacks more capable and their pack just as mobile.
Worcester Warriors 14-19 Saracens
Scrum: Little more about the Sarries front 5 and they can get an edge.
Lineout: Worc more dangerous off attacking ball.
Breakdown: Great little battle here. Nothing between the sides.
HB's: 1 a piece here and combos fairly even.
Attack: Bit more to the Worc back three but nothing between the sides elsewhere.
Defence: Big Bast could be drawn out of position.
Bench: No TH a concern for Worc.
Tactics: More detail to Sarries is a plus and they are targeting the right areas here and pick up another good win.

Almost clipped your Falcon's wings the week before mate!
Interesting to see how I do this week, after managing a draw against yourself, you getting the win over Wasps and me playing them this week.
