PSG mega bid for Pogba

The story is that PSG are set to offer Juventus a staggering £40m/€50m plus Marco Verratti for former Manchester United youth teamer Paul Pogba.

Are PSG massively overhyping the ability of the young Frenchman? Or does this sum up what a monumental mistake Alex Ferguson made when he didn't do what needed to be done to keep him at Old Trafford?

By the looks of it, the way Pogba is playing at present, would Manchester United's midfield be so suspect if they had played Pogba a couple of years ago like Januzaj is playing now? And would they be struggling as they are at present?

At the other end of the scale, are PSG ruining the transfer market with this type of spending? Players like Cavani are in their prime and arguably worth their huge transfer fees, but Pogba is still pretty unproven. They spent a similar amount,of money on a similarly aged Lucas Moura this time last year so its not unlike PSG.

Pogba is worth about 15 million.

What are PSG doing.

I think a big part of it is that Pogba is a French international and PSG need to be seen to be signing national players, but essentially its the equivalent of Man City offering Arsenal £40m plus Fernandinho for Jack Wilshere!

Pogba is worth about £25m, if you compare him to other midfield transfer fees across Europe. He's got good ability & significant potential to grow into a midfield powerhouse.

Ferguson made huge errors throughout his career on players. If he couldn't handle them or they went off the rails slightly, he just threw them away. Morrison & Pogba should never have left United, when you compare them to Anderson & Cleverley. What Ferguson saw in Cleverley is bewildering.

Yeah, Pogba is not worth this reported fee, however, it is a case of PSG needing to look for more French acquisitions. Would also see Cabaye heading in that direction relatively soon.

I don't agree. Morrison had to leave Utd for both his own good and that of the club. He was too wrapped up in criminal culture and judging by him not doing anything of note since he left, it was a good move on Utd's part. Pogba didn't have to go but no 18 year old is worth the amount of money a week he was after.
