Royal Rumble: Who will be the Final Four?

Following on from Chris' article, I wondered who you think will be the final 4 in the Rumble?

I'll go with -

Punk
Bryan
Batista
Reigns

I reckon Jericho will be thereabouts.

If Jericho is in the Rumble I would be amazed if he made it to the final four. Last year he was nowhere near the standing to be in the final four, following the rise of Bryan and Reigns and the return of Batista I can't see how he can stand in the final four as an equal.

Because it's the Rumble and everyone has a chance. It's not necessarily about who the hottest four are. Didn't Brian Knobbs make it to the last 4 one time?

Jericho is the sort of person who can always be drafted into main event programmes so could work for final 4

For final four I would say:
Batista
Bryan
Kane
Kofi

With Kofi being the shock final four member, Team Hell No in there after Kane eliminates Punk. Batista/Bryan are the obvious ones

Damien Sandow

I think given his win over Orton and the rumours of an imminent push Kofi is a good outside bet for a very good showing in the Rumble, if not being around till the final four.

the real question is how will kofi improvise to avoid elimination?

Rather than a big stare down, what about a comedy moment? Batista, Punk, Bryan and... Heath Slater. Everyone knows what's about to happen to poor old Heath. They each batter him, and as Batista goes for the power bomb, he twists, wriggles and flips him over the rope. He strikes the arrogant "look at me" pose only for Bryan and Punk to double clothesline him over.

I'd like to see an overtime situation again. But maybe try and have 3 or 4 involved in it. Make it a bit more intense.

Not sure who will win, but think three of the four there could. Kane to eliminate one of Bryan or Punk to set up one or the other for a match at Elimination Chamber against Kane and then Wrestlemania against Triple H.

For me the ideal way would be Kane eliminates Bryan, that way they can have a mini-feud between ex tag team partners while also part of the Authority angle, Bryan needs the win over Triple H more than Punk I think. Bryan eliminates Kane from the outside, Punk eliminates the favourite to win Batista to get his shot. Lesnar wins the title at Elimination Chamber and the Mania main event is Punk Lesnar ending with Punk getting the win and the title.

Bryan beats Kane at EC and then HHH at Mania.
Cena goes for the Streak after being encouraged by Hogan (whoever said that idea on here, I think it's great)
Batista v Orton...something to do with Evolution.

Cody vs Goldust

Think that covers the big stories and would do the most for the most people.

This but Bryan and Punk the other way around

Given Bryan is set to not take part in the Rumble it seems a few of you may have to rethink your final 4! Gutted for Bryan and increases the odds that Batista will win it IMO. In fact I'm 99% sure he will now.

ideal scenario, Batista eliminates Lesnar, Lesnar re-enters the ring eliminates Batista, Bryan eliminates Ambrose and wins the RR. Expect a good showing from Punk, but he will be eliminated by the Authority

Lesnar vs. Batista
Punk vs. HHH
Cena vs. Undertaker
The Shield vs The Wyatts

As Bryan has a singles match does that now mean that he won't be in the rumble then ?

I think you get more out of both Punk and Bryan the way round I have them. Lesnar beat Punk last time around so I think Punk should have a win back and he's ready to be back in the title picture, would give him the Rumble win and Mania moment.

Bryan is the one who has been most held back by the Authority and for me needs the win over Triple H more than Punk does who needed it 2-3 years ago.

Think at this moment in time Punk is more likely to face Triple H though and the title match to involve neither Punk or Bryan which will be a shame as I imagine Bryan will be moved into another less emotionally investing match will stall his momentum somewhat. Any other year the Streak match would be great for Bryan but I think he needs to get his revenge on Triple H and needs to be in a match to maximise his popularity, I think it would be split with The Undertaker but I think Undertaker's legend and lack of TV time mean Bryan will lose out.

Something tells me that this years wrestlemania won't be as good now with Batista
returning. Having to someone shoe-horn him into a big match at wrestlemania seems like a waste. I will only be happy if he is facing Orton

It still baffles me that it looks like we won't getting Punk v Lesnar 2 at Mania, not only was the 1st match a classic but it was perfectly set up for a rematch with the heel getting the win.

How WWE can spend a trilogy on the lacklustre HHH/Lesnar series and not do a re-run of their match of the year is beyond me.

As for the actual question, I'm not sure but i'll take a punt at

Punk, Sheamus, Reigns and Del Rio

I am with you there House, but I do think (probably more hope) that still is the plan, it makes the most logical sense.

With Bryan not taking part in the Rumble (which almost set in stone by all accounts now) I just don't see how your going to bring all that together in the space of a couple of months.

I mean even with the rushed booking which we all know WWE love to do I just can't find a way of getting Punk back onto Lesnar and Bryan back to HHH.

Everyone is assuming that Bryan beats Wyatt at Rumble...yet given the Cage match ending it wouldn't surprise me to see Bray pick up the win over him.

Punk is clearly set on the authority atm so how you would get him simply bypass that and move back onto Lesnar is anyones guess.

To be fair, whilst I'm not sure it'll happen, there's numerous easy ways to set up Lesnar/Punk II. The plans for Punk and Bryan could easily change to a few targets, especially Bryan who doesnt really have a set opponent for Mania based on current booking.

I want Batista completely away from the title. But it wont happen. He'd be better in a grudge match as a heel, less so as a face but still better.

I agree I am being optimistic but I don't think it's that hard to bring it altogether at all. In fact I've explained how I think it would come together. The way Punk is moved away from The Authority is that he wins the Rumble for the title and Bryan goes onto the Authority, just like Bryan was moved from the Authority angle when the Wyatts got involved.

Bryan better be in the rumble
