A Forgotten Gem
Classic matches. We know about all the obvious ones. They are mentioned all the time, even on this board. We know about all the legendary clashes involving Shawn Michaels, Randy Savage, Ricky The Dragon Steamboat, The Undertaker, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, John Cena and The Shield. However I stumbled across a match the other day which I had never heard mentioned once before on any wrestling website or forum. I myself had forgotten all about it. It had me on the edge of my seat (due to not remembering who actually won) and in my eyes, this was a true classic.
I am talking about Kurt Angle v The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship at No Way Out 2006. Angle was the defending champion. This match had it all, The story of Angle constantly targeting the ankle of Taker, including locking in the Angle Lock outside the ring twice to weaken him up. It had finishers being kicked out of, it had submissions, submission reversals, an amazing double Tombstone reversal and a brilliant submission reversal to pin to end the match. The only thing that slightly let it down was that after the match finished, it took a while from the referee ringing the bell, to it actually being announced which felt a bit flat. But that certainly didnt detract from a match which had me totally captivated despite it being 8 years old.
I cant get on Youtube at work, but if someone wants to post links to the match for eveyone else, that would be much appreciated. Does anyone agree with me? If so, why do you think it gets largely forgotten? Feel free to add any other hidden gems - classic brilliant matches which are never mentioned at all.

Re: A Forgotten Gem
quite enjoyed watching Jeff Hardy vs the Undertaker ladder match circa 2001-ish.
also enjoyed RVD vs Undertaker hardcore match 2001-ish.
don't think the American bad ass gimmick was involved in too many bad matches in general.

I'd say Kurt Angle vs HBK at Wrestlemania 21, was a very very good match but never really remembered

Re: A Forgotten Gem
I wouldnt say forgotten gem but one match I sometimes go back and watch is the ECW Originals vs New Breed from WWECW.
Had a ton of brutal looking moves in there and the Elijah Express through the table makes me legitimately feel pain for Sabu.
Not a high quality match as the others mentioned but one that has always stuck in my memory for some very strange reason.

One that stands out for me is Bret Hart vs British Bulldog from an early In Your House, December 1995 I think.

Re: A Forgotten Gem
i would mention Angle v Benoit at royal rumble 2003, quite a good match from what i remember but tends to get lost in the mix.
an obvious one but doesn't get too many plaudits would be Brett hart vs 123 kid on raw in 94 i think,
