Re: New League Setup Style
Not that I have any say, but I don't get why you would go for option A.
Wasn't it proven in the past that having purely player drafts has such a negative effect on domestic deals right from the start that trying to do deals got tedious very quickly. Isn't that why we switched to a team draft last time around?

It was indeed Afro.
I see no point as you end up getting the players you want or the second/third choice players you want. No need to make transfers then. Lawyer off & upgrade as the TP Limit rises.

Could someone explain each option in more detail please if possible? I wasn't in the league when it started last time.

Re: New League Setup Style
Milky,
Option A: Everyone has the same budget which you buy players with. So you start with zero player. Player bids are private messaged to one of the runners.
Bids are based on TM Value e.g Steven Gerrard is £6.6m.
If you bid £6.8m & I bed £7m I win the player.
There will be maxium 3 rounds of bidding. So if you miss out on players in your first bidding list you get a second chance & maybe a third so you can get a squad of the minimum number of players required.
Option B. Everyone has the same budget. You then bid on a Football Club based on there club value from TM.
Aston Villaare valued at £88m.
If you bid £88m & I bid £90m I win the club.
The left over budget you can use on transfer.

Re: New League Setup Style
If bidding on teams wins, will we be able to bid on any team or will there be a select group of teams?

Look here HM: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/default/top-teams/basics.html
If teams wins then:
£125 million budget to buy a team from outside Prem, Bundesliga, LaLiga
£100 million to buy a team within those three leagues

Re: New League Setup Style
I dont think there should be an option. People who go buy a team from Prem, Bundesliga, La Liga will in general have a better starting out team. Take that option away & make it £125m for a team outside thouse leagues. If teams wins then:
£125 million budget to buy a team from outside Prem, Bundesliga, LaLiga
£100 million to buy a team within those three leagues

Re: New League Setup Style
Obviously not a part of the league, but i would do more to force deals each week and also announce injuries after squads are finalised to force squad depth and people buying to cover injuries.
I also wouldn't add so much money into the league to start with.

Are we still planning to do the 2 tier league or are we going for the normal 1 tier?

Re: New League Setup Style
No deals shouldn't be forced, I bet you wouldn't have liked selling Januzaj for 5m would you.
Re: New League Setup Style
The injuries after squads fixed is a good idea though. I for one would have had to change my strategy, but it is still a good idea

Haha, do what you want I'll go along with that. Drafts start today? A bit early think we need confirmation from who's in and who's out, no need to rush anything.
Re: New League Setup Style
we are wait on confirmation. Do you mind PMing a few people on the list please Viva?

Re: New League Setup Style
How about chucking in a curve ball?
You could get a few of us old managers who aren't carrying on to also be involved in the draft. They bid for a team and/or players the same as everyone else.
Then at the end of it, they don't play in the league, but you have some "foreign teams". The players in these teams are available for TPs, the same as everyone else, but to buy them you have to pay a premium (say 30% above market value).
You could also use this as the place where players sold to lawyers end up

Re: New League Setup Style
I like that idea, maybe even give those teams a higher budget so that they have a large selection of wanted players
Re: New League Setup Style
No. Stops us managers being able to trade fairly.

Re: New League Setup Style
It was just an idea to add a twist to the game and stop it being just another version of the same old.
You would still be able to buy them, but those players, who would likely be more desirable, would just carry a premium.
But it's entirely up to you guys.
