Murray in Mexico
Looks like Andy's decided to go 'loco in Acapulco'

For a minute, I thought he was pulling a master stroke and getting some early clay court practice in. But I see they've changed to hard
Actualy, it's an excellent idea - given that he's been playing in San Diego which isn't a million miles from this part of Mexico which isn't that far (relatively) for Windy Indy - which is the next Masters event
First tournament win since Wimby? 500 points could mean a return to the Top 5 as Ferrer has 550 and Del Potro 725 points to defend this month (Murray has none)

Re: Murray in Mexico
Del Potro had some sort of splint or support on his wrist last week so I would not be surprised if he doesn't defend his title in Rotterdam next week.
As for Andy, I think playing Acapulco is a good move for him. He needs some more matches before the 2 Masters and, as you say, Acapulco is more conveniently located than Dubai. If the back surgery has worked, he should be up for playing a much fuller schedule this year than last. He does have over a 1000 points to defend in March though.

Good - The back must be on the mend and a potential 500 points for the win would start his climb back up the rankings.

Nadal isn't entering. So Ferrerr (depending on how well he defends his points beforehand) will be the top seed
