Re: N.E.D. Social Area
not really lol
still have issues with this forced to sell caper..
ok so i never saw the rule to begin with just thought it was a one off for first week..
The issue I have is we are trying to build a team/squad to be successful, if for some reason three of nmy best players have lawyers I am very relucatant to sell, why should I? Surely its up to me if I want to sell to raise money to buy someone else..
To encourage in house trading..does it really matter if we keep buying and selling all the time, we try to build squads especially first xi's then to be forced to sell, well quite frankly its a nonsense rule
for instance if Zouma, Berardi, Insigne get lawyers then I wont be able to replace them with the limit so low atm, and certainly wouldnt want to sell them to a rival club, even if you can come to some sort of deal with another manager to buy him back after so many games/weeks
I really dont like this rule and imo should stop, not as if it happens irl and yes this isnt
Rant over, and if this rule stays, I may not

Re: N.E.D. Social Area
Morning
Belgium are now favourites ahead of Italy in the world cup according to some sky sports pundits. I'm sorry but that's a big fat joke, 4 time world champions who are a proper tournament side Sir Alex said it best they come out with the ‘English are so strong, we’re terrible in the air, we can’t do this, we can’t do that’. Then they beat you 3 - 0.'
Belgium have some good players and at best they'll make it to the quarters.

Re: N.E.D. Social Area
Belgium have a great collective of players, but they aren't a great team. It's not like the Belgians were winning U17/U20 World Cups on their way to this World Cup. The Swiss on the other hand did win the U20 World Cup and arguably justify their Top Seed ranking for this World Cup.

I mean more that they are a team of great individuals rather than a great collective team.

Re: N.E.D. Social Area
seen them a few times in qualifying, they are a good team not just individuals, a team that has been together for a while and doesnt change all that much from game to game, they will be a danger and depending on the draw I can see them doing very well, maybe even the Semis

Yeah, I'm kinda with Marky on this. They seem like a team that looks great on paper but doesn't quite come together.

Re: N.E.D. Social Area
For me Fan, the game isn't really about building a successful side. It's about being a football manager.
In real life, there are loads of instances where managers are forced to sell players they don't want to, and that means they weaken their teams.
Thissi a game and that rule is just part of the game

I'm in favour of letting Scotland go it's separate way.
And then England just invades Scotland, takes it back and call the whole lot Great England

Are we getting lawyers and injuries today.
I have some TP targets but want to wait to see who I have to sell and who is unavailable before I buy, and as it's tactics tomorrow, that needs to be today

They were having a preview of the world cup and Stuart Pearce said the exact same thing about Belgium and Switzerland. Almost word for word

She could be on the 2p
The 50 Scottish pound note could show Archie Gemmill jinking through the Dutch defense in 1978.

The Scots don't celebrate Scottish success, they celebrate English misery.
They would have a picture of Maradonna's handball.
Out of interest, which of the curling players do you think was the fit one. I could never make my mind up about Eve Muirhead, but thought the blonde one was the fittest

The blonde was nice too.
The main one with the dark hair was the one I was referring to. Although I didn't go to the trouble of learning her name of course.
Good looking bunch all around the British Winter Olympics team as it goes. Even that 18 year old with her face smashed in was a looker.
I think soon enough we should split Britain up like Belgium really. Have regions and states because everyone hates each other, but most of all everyone hates London.

I meant the U17 World Cup, does that make it word for word?
I wasn't listening though, but its not an uncommon opinion. People hyping Belgium as World Cup dark horses despite them having little to no tournament success with these players or any before is simply overrating them.

You didn't have to go to any trouble to learn her name. It was plastered all over the press for most of February.
Have you seen the Six Nations advert that the English rugby team got banned for being anti English

Re: N.E.D. Social Area
My house will still be split on Sunday, whether we are in England or Wales.
The mood in Wales is normally determined by the result. If the Welsh team are doing well and winning, the banter is light hearted. If England are winning and Wales aren't, then it can be a bit less light hearted.
I have other priorities though. I accept my son being brainwashed to being Welsh as long as he supports Everton. I prefer Welsh Everton fans to English non Everton fans (no offence to most of you )
BTW West Ham were robbed a bit on Saturday. Barry should have been sent off and you should have had a penalty. Saying that, it was attack on defence for most of the game

Re: N.E.D. Social Area
We have had our share of luck in the last few weeks so I'm not too upset. I was at the Saints game and it was exactly the same, attack vs defence but we were clinical when we had chances. They just didn't have chances.
I have no beef with the other home nations at all. I think that's an English thing. I can live with the rest of the nations hating us, but if you hate England and then come and live or work here then I would consider you an irretrievable hypocrite.

Re: N.E.D. Social Area
The best approach is to be completely indifferent.
If you tell the Welsh that you don't really pay any attention to them or whether they win or lose, it drives them mad.
They want us to hate them, to justify a rivalry, when really we care more about beating France (or Germany in football) than we do Wales or Scotland

Re: N.E.D. Social Area
They do seem to be very one-sided rivalries in a lot of cases. I remember when we lost 1-0 to NI in Belfast and they were going absolutely mental, like it was the best thing ever that they beat England.
But then our rivalry with Germany is probably one-sided too. I doubt they give a crap about us.
The most fun rivalry is with Australia. They are less hateful and more on the wind-up if they beat us.

Gregers/Z3, do you guys need some help with the running, I'm not immediately putting myself forward so to speak but I can see things are building up such as injuries/lawyers/results etc and I know all of us want this to succeed so rather than just moan about it I thought it best to see if we can all work on things?

I hate the people, the accent, the city, you think you're better then us, you think you know it all about everything, how we're poor yet you forget the slums and ghettos.
