Well said, Sol!
'Sol Campbell has claimed he would have been "England captain for more than 10 years" if he had been born white. The former England defender makes the claims in an authorised biography serialised by the Sunday Times. "I believe if I was white, I would have been England captain for more than 10 years - it's as simple as that," said the 39-year-old, who won 73 full caps, including three as captain.'

Rather odd though. I am a Scot so my knowledge may be awry about England's national team but I am sure I recall Paul Ince captaining England.

A pathetic, controversial comment to try and sell some more books, with little basis in fact or evidence? Tick.
Can we get to the real matter, Sol? Will the England fans be coming home in coffins this summer, just like Euro 2012? Woops!
He's a dick.

Not to mention Rio Ferdinand, who would have been captain of England on the biggest stage of all - the World Cup in 2010 - if injury hadn't befallen him.

He seems to be forgetting the biggest stumbling block of them all, a certain David Beckham, not as if a whole host were chosen ahead of them, a pitiful comment that in itself is grossly racist.

Dispatches is on Channel 4 tomorrow, uncovering racist and homophobic chanting at football games at clubs such as Leicester and Brighton.
I don't await with any great expectation.

Id have argued that in his prime he was definitely captain material. Doesnt mean to say he should have been, and I think these comments are a bit low, but he definitely had it in him. Got to have some nerve to move across North London, he went nuts after his prime

Campbell was a known sulker, and looked to have very little leadership qualities. A brilliant defender, in fact, he'd be in my all time England team, from players I've seen, but he's let himself down with these comments.
