Can he play 15s though ? Should be a laugh when he comes up against Jack Cuthbert

Could work both ways though. Jack Cuthbert could probably run right over the top of him without realising that he was there!

Cuthbert would line him up a mile away. And when he goes to give Isles a thump, he is grasps only air as Isles dances past to another score?

I'm sure in 2 years once someone has taught him how to play rugby he'll be a decent player. Still think its a daft signing for Glasgow, though clearly Lee Jones has changed their opinion on players who are fast but lightweight and lacking in general skills

will be great to watch him play XVs. width and quick ball will presumably become the mantra on his wing for glasgow

If he can take a high ball then the Glasgow up and under will suddenly become a whole lot more dangerous. Chip in behind becomes a standard tactic too. Outrageous speed on the wing can make a half backs life easier.

Hope he takes to it - certainly makes good commercial sense. Lot of interest up here. A back 3 of Maitland, Hogg and Isles could be the fastest in world rugby by quite a long way.

Ill give him credit, he does appear to give that saffa a hand off.
But could he fend of Cornell du preez? Could he bring du preez down while defending?
Will be interesting to see

So....
everyone see this? Not a good sign for Isle's moving towards 15s. He won't run with the ball one handed again after the stick he got from this!

Hmm the ball does technically go backwards. Nice footwork before hand.

That dangerous holding the ball in one hand thing had nothing to do with the drop though. He only dropped the ball once he put it in two hands and after he had more correctly tucked the ball under the other arm to fend off a lock with his right. I suspect the bigger message will be get the ball down sooner; get closer to the posts if possible, but it doesn't have to be right in the middle, the kickers in XVs don't have to drop-kick conversions and even get a tee.

His presence on the pitch will dissuade the opposition from defending tight in anything other than a try-line maul situation.
On anything approaching a dry pitch, Isles will be able to run laterally across the pitch far faster than defenders can drift - in essence, the only way to defend against him is to already be where he is planning on running through.
