Blessing in disguise for Khan?
Hi all, first time poster on the v2, daily reader since, used to post under the same name on old BBC 606, glad to see some of the old names still here.
The blessing in disguise for Khan; he is to fight in 8-10 weeks against an unnamed opponent but not Broner, apparently in the UK. But we, the fans will be pleased with the announcement they say.
So who will it be and what will be the result?
Cheers

If it truely is in 10 weeks then I can't see it being a massive name so the fans won't be happy sadly.

Hi hampo, all info. from sky sports. But my thoughts exactly unless they pull a big name, domestic or international?

I doubt Luis Collazo would fight in England.
He's just signed with Al Haymon and Collazo himself is a big draw in New York.

Welcome terry.
I suspect the fans will be happy with anyone they think might knock khan out... Which doesn't limit the field greatly.

I would pay £1k to watch my dead grandma have a go.
I'd make her 5/1 to knock him out.
Collazo is too big for khan and unlike my dear old grandma digs that little bit harder. Doesn't have the rock solid, can't be unconscious chin...
He'll probably call lomachenko out
Or a puppy
I heart up pies

From the report they sound very confident in this announcement. As milky says, it will probably be someone with a fair enough dig but who they feel khan can wear down with his speed and look good doing it, then continue to call mayweather out.

I'd be happy to see him in with Collazo, a solid fringe world level fighter who's given some top fighters a serious examination. As it goes I think he deserved the nod over Berto and the Hatton fight could have gone either way, his best years might be gone but will be a decent test for Khan at Welterweight.
