Wales Team to Face Scotland
First topic message reminder :
With Halfpenny now out for the rest of the season, at least one change is inevitable. However will/should there be more? Rhys Webb may not be fit, should Phillips come in, or should Gatland have one eye on RWC 2015. Will Priestland be dropped, if so will he be on the bench. How about Gethin Jenkins? MotM against Scotland, yellow card today. AWJ rushed back, looked short of match fitness.
So Welsh fans, name two XVs, the one you would pick and the one you expect Gatland to pick.

Byrne could be seen as a retrograde step but I can't see Gatland picking Jordan Williams but then Halfpenny can't be much bigger ? Anyone know how they compare ?

Liam Williams will slot in at XV with Hook taking up his customary Mr Utility position on the bench.

Agreed Bedford but although I like Liam Williams his temperament seems too easily ruffled though I wouldn't say that to his face !
To be fair he deserves a start in his preferred position so let's hope he plays a blinder.

Scrum V Classics is a good one on Friday (or whatever day it appears). The rainy as flip one in Cardiff from a few years ago where Mikey Rayer slid in twice.
Shame we haven't added to the squad. Could've freshened things up even for a week. Added a bit more impetus to the squad. Not overly chuffed having Hook or Williams at 15. Probably prefer Hook though.

Yes.The scales are heavily in our favour. The Scots like us mAke the most from a limited player base.LondonTiger wrote:Taffineastbourne wrote:You must be mighty old coz I'm 60 and I can't!SussexSilures wrote:I'm old enough to remember many defeats to Scotland so a little reticent to believe in any foregone conclusion.

Re: Wales Team to Face Scotland
when is the squad announced . can't see them bringing in extra players just for one game but def a change is needed plus New game plan plus a few slaps across the face to wake them up just before kick off

Tomorrow at 11am.
They should've brought in a few fresh faces like I said.

Who would you have liked to have seen brought in Rev. Richie Rees for me and Lewis Evans I guess though not sure they would have solved problems.
If the young centres O Williams and C Allen were fit then them and hardly a fresh face but am surprised Ryan Jones wasn't called up anyway even before England game.

Cory Allen yes, but Owain Williams was a bag of nerves and looked out of his depth in his last Welsh match. Wish they'd bring in Gareth Davis and Jordan Williams, if only to train with the squad.

Not Dragons per se, but Hallam Amos would've given another fullback option at least. Rees would probably be the only one from us at the moment though, but Gareth Davies would be in more form than Phillips too. Starts people thinking that maybe form does matter then.

Re: Wales Team to Face Scotland
Just to let you know the situation from the North, there are potential injuries to our two wingers - Seymour and Evans - which could see Duncan Taylor and Dougie Fife (0 caps) go on the wings. We've drafted in Richie Vernon (Our back row-turn-centre) and Lee Jones (playing 7s until recently got another chance at Glasgow - played 1 or 2 games with them).

I personally dont think Hallam Amos is anywhere near ready for this level after his first cap.

Didn't watch it to be honest, but I know he was nervous a few times, but thought he did alright. Probably didn't help him when others around him must've played like idiots.
