Re: TNA Results 27th March
Just watching the show now.
First thoughts:
Opening segment was quite good - MVP is growing into his role quite well and is a good authority figure. Eric Young was also excellent in this angle. I also think he namechecked Enforcer in his speech!
EC3 and Spud are brilliant. If they could put them in a feud with Bad Influence, it would be absolutely legendary!

Re: TNA Results 27th March
The Wolves are fantastic too. Great match and although Magnus is being booked so, so weakly at the moment, I kind of like him more than I have before. I liked his attitude of tapping straight away and his promos are getting a lot better
Re: TNA Results 27th March
This has to be one of the most awful TNA shows I've ever watched, but not in a disheartening A&8's or Main Event Mafia era way, in a hilarious Sharknado kind of way, I loved it, was in stiches several times

Maybe its because I like Sharknado that I really enjoyed it again!
Re: TNA Results 27th March
Few things, Eric Young's justification that he should be given a world title shot to take care of Abyss (bearing in mind Storm and Gunner are going to war over title shots later in the card), Young using his knockouts title reign as justification for the title match, Joe objecting and MVP adding Young anyways, the ECIII/Spud/Willow vignettes, particualry the Spud kidnapping with horror music in the background, the backstage shot of highly hyped Kenny King apparently flying from Las Vegas to Orlando to have MVP say we don't have anything for you and King just going 'ok see you next week', Sam Shaw being given a 1 week suspension for a quasi-sexual assault of a non-wrestler with a pair of scissors, in which a camera man decided he had nothing better to do than just film it, the finish to the Joe v Young match, and lastly I don't know if you noticed but after the (and I'll give TNA their due I thought it was brilliant) angle with Papa Gunner last week, you can see him in the front row of the Beautiful People and Joe vs Young matches, but he's yanked for main event
Like I said I actually really enjoyed it, but probably not for the right reasons

Re: TNA Results 27th March
I think thats all very valid!
With regards the TNA Knockouts title mention, I think it was Eric Young pointing out the stupid gimmicks he has had to deal with that he had previously mentioned as opposed to being proud.
The Gunners dad thing is just unfortunate due to the multiple tapings at once they do. They should have made sure mind in post production.
The Samuel Shaw thing is the weirdest, creepiest thing I have seen in a long time on a wrestling show.
Gunner vs Storm has been a brilliant feud - in fact I would go as far to say its been one of the best built feuds of the last year on either TNA or WWE. And each match has been very good. Gunner is one of my favourite wrestlers at the moment. He looks legit badass.
The King thing was pretty ridiculous! I am guessing that they might make this in to an angle where he keeps turning up and they have nothing for him - maybe MVPs first feud?
The only thing I will disagree about is EC3 and Spud. Yes its ridiculous. Yes its like a horror movie. BUt Its bloody entertaining and at least it means that all 3 are doing something other than just being Magnus' back up. I really like the production values on it. I know a few others mentioned that the A&8 funeral had a similar feel and they didnt like it. It doesnt bother me at all and I think its refreshing.
I also quite enjoyed the Knux segment - I never thought I would be typing those words!

Oh Christ I forgot about the Knux thing, 'I can fix these arcades...I cannot fix these arcades', what the actually f***
I found both the EC3/Spud stuff and the A&8's funeral really funny, but that's mainly due to how naff I thought they were

Re: TNA Results 27th March
Overall, I liked the show very much.
I'm liking how EY has become a much more serious character of late, since the whole "unleashing the monster" thing started. I also liked that he basically demanded to be taken more seriously, when he listed all the "crap" he's been saddled with over the years. Now if only he would do something about that beard!
The Gunner - Storm feud is just fantastic, as have been the matches so far. Really doesn't need anything adding to it.
Similarly, the Bully Ray - Roode story seems to be building nicely. Would have like to have seen more of those tables used, but I suppose you can't have everything.
I also thought turning Willow into a horror movie character is a stroke of genius. Like Abyss, he's not the most audience-friendly of characters and should probably only appear when he's got a fight scheduled. Seems TNA want to do something similar to what WCW did with Sting during his "Crow" phase.
As for EC3, I was starting to like him as a wrestler, once he started getting booked in proper matches, but I'm enjoying his pursuit of Willow. As for Spud - he is just hilariously enjoyable. He might be hopelessly unbelievable as a wrestler (lets face it, most of the Knockouts could kick his ass), but I'm loving the bumbling lackey he's become for the Carters...even if it is a bit of a comedy cliché.
Also liking the return of Angelina Love - its injected a bit of life into the Knockouts. With only 2 or 3 ever in action at any one time, there were just no stories of any interest and every other fight seemed to be a contender or title fight, which becomes repetitive and boring after a while. Still, TNA need to follow this up with other stories, as this one won't run for too long (without also becoming tedious).
I will agree that Kenny King's segment seemed a waste of air time. Why not just do another promo, maybe tease an upcoming feud, instead of having him show up at the venue for no reason?
I'm also starting to wonder what the point is of continuing the Sam Shaw story? Okay, this is pro wrestling and credibility does get stretched regularly, but surely most stalkers would have at least been visited by the cops by now...possibly locked up in a cell awaiting trial?
Was also baffled by the Knux segment, as I thought he was long gone with the rest of Aces & Eights. What the hell was that about? Are they really planning on building a story around a character most fans weren't that bothered about in the first place?
All in all, not brilliant, but still pretty good.

Re: TNA Results 27th March
I've not watched TNA in ages, to those that do what is better about it than WWE to convince me to return?

There is nothing "better" about it - its different.
For every reason that I like it, a WWE fan could use that why it isnt good.
But for me:
The show is more fast paced (yes I realise its an hour shorter!)
I prefer the backstage and off site promos (some really good comedy videos with Rockstar Spud and EC3 last week for example)
The wrestling is more varied (in my opinion)
Some very good builds at the moment. In fact everyone is being built well except for the champion!
The thing that lets it down is the inconsitancy. However, its nowhere near as bad as some people (mostly WWE fans) will have you believe. Its not 2 steps forward one step back but I wouldnt argue against 3 steps forward and 1 step back at times.
I think they are doing a fine job at the moment at building some great stars for the future and generally using their talent better than they have done for years.
