Braehmer vs Enzo
First topic message reminder :
Anybody tuning in to this one to see if Enzo can upset the odds? I'm really hoping he does, a true gent and fair play to basically getting himself this shot.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a rematch. Braemer is happy fighting at home vs mediocre opposition. I doubt he could draw a big name even if he wanted to, he's no superstar.

You all know what this means, don't you? He'll use this as an excuse as to why he lost and carry on...
Sounds like he will carry on.

I'm sure the weakest champion at 175 will have a lot of people interested in him...Cellmate !!

Who? I doubt Stevenson, Kovalev and Hopkins even know who he is. His title will remain captive in Germany for the foreseeable future.

Any top challenger will look for the easiest scalp whether he's a current 168 champ or a natural 175 man.
Braehmer is very beatable

Nobody deserves to be subjected to 36 min of Braehmer/Hopkins.

Got to give yer probs to Enzo, he came to win. Probs the best I'd seen him in a good while, and he only had one eye. Just unfortunate with that injury. Don't think I gave him a round but he was competitive and does carry good power so anything could have happened. Just a shame that was his last chance really.

How about to a guy who carried on with a pretty nasty injury and would have carried on till the end if his corner didn't pull him out?

Was a horrific eye injury, his eye was worse than Matthysse's within a 3 minutes of the fight.

I was responding to the turned up to win comment as If it should be optional..
Enzo always had heart and fairplay..Just never had any talent.

Think your being harsh there. Could have quit after the first with the injury and still got same money for carrying on the fifth.
It wasn't like a Darren Barker kind of farce.

No 'top challenger' will want to go to Germany to get screwed over by the judges for peanuts. This compliments Braehmers lack of intent to ever face a top challenger nicely. How many times did he avoid Cleverley?. The fact that Maccarinelli was accepted as an opponent gives a good indication of team Braehmer's ambitions. A Maccarinelli rematch wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

The ref would need a crow-bar to stop them holding.

A top challenger would rather fight a guy he can beat than Stevo or Kovo....Who could trash them..

I think you'll find the "top challengers" want to face the top champions. Take a look at the WBA rankings to see the likely 'quality' Braehmer will be facing.

Feel for Maccarinelli, expected him to lose but not like that.
Say what you will about his heart but he's easier to hit than a barn door. Cuts and bruises may not be the nicest way to lose fights but they still illustrate how easy you are to hit.

I guess Enzo will keep on going. Despite suffering quite a few losses and eating a lot of canvas he at least shows some heart. Its a shame someone like Enzos conqueror David Haye who is fortunate enough to have much more talent and chin didnt have the same attitude and appetite for the sport

Re: Braehmer vs Enzo
Not seen the fight but it sounded like I the eye started from a clash of heads. If so does he not have an argument that it should have been stopped on medical advice earlier resulting in a NC? Photos look horrible.

Zero head movement from enzo, always been too straight up. Shame his eye closed early, obscuring his view and probably effecting his depth-perception too - making defence and attack all the harder.
Great heart from enzo..... as always.

The rankings show what mandatory opponent he's likely to face. Why would he fight a top challenger for peanuts if he didn't have to?

Macca just never had the instincts to move his head - bit like Bruno. Doesn't matter who you are, at the bigger weights you hang your chin out and it's good night.

Let's hope he doesn't get it or we'll be a year before we get a decent WBA 175 pound champ
