Zebre v Ospreys...
How bad was that result last night...
Mathematically, the Ospreys can still get into the playoffs, in the same way as mathematically I could win the lottery this weekend. However, probability is against them and me...
That has to be the lowest ebb to a really poor 2013-14 season for Welsh rugby... I really hope things turn round next year.

Got to give credit to Zebre. Well done.
Significant improvement from last season.

That was a very enjoyable game on what was a pretty door thursday.
As a neutral that game really cheered me up and it's not often you see a try scored at the 83rd minute from the dead ball zone.

Some Franglo teams and their fans may be licking their lips at the prospect of having the barcodes in their pool.
Personally I'd like a fully meritocratic system, however.

This is not a wum, but a genuine question for Os fans - what the hell has happened to the team this season? Unbeaten against Leinster, can put more than 70 points on a Treviso side but yet at the same time turned in a series of narrow losses against the top 6 and actually conspired to lose to a urine poor Edinburgh side.
Very difficult to square that soft form with the quality of individual squad players.

I wish I knew....
There is something wrong, when a crucial game against Zebre is lost in the last gasp like that. Especially when we where chasing a BP.
I hope it's just one of those seasons.

Im not totally blaming tandy here but I think we need a change of leadership in the coaching staff.
This issue of Adam Jones contract also needs to be sorted. Why is he warming the bench each week when he should be starting. Regardless of the politics, we should be starting with our best players

Zebre were a different team, they played with such confidence with ball in hand. The Italian national team could learn a lot from them.

Well the fat lady is singing at Ravenhill so loudly she can be heard at the Liberty...
No end of reworking the maths will do know. That's that for the Ospreys season...
Agree, Adam warming the bench is rediculous.

Has been a shocking season. Definitely more lows than highs and of course we are losing to many players at the end of the season. When you don't fight to keep matthew morgan and ryan jones wants to go, there has to be something wrong somewhere

Have never rated Holley but agreed with him tonight, somethings not quite right at the moment doan at the Liberty as he said AWJ playing to much A Jones not enough.
Is Tandy out of his depth?
Could they afford a big name coach?

TBJ,
Fair point do you think they will invest in a coach or stick with Tandy who for me is out of depth.

Bedford, I always liked Tandy as a player and he was my boss for a short time so I know he's a good bloke. But he just doesn't seem to be inspiring believe and confidence in the team. I think they have to invest in the coach. They are signing alot of young players which I think is great, so we need a strong leader at the helm inorder to get the best out of them.

Re: Zebre v Ospreys...
Agreed... I was surprised when Tandy was appointed. Back then it struck me as "jobs for the boys" and I think the results, or lack of them has proved it. After all, Tandy played with some of those players and although a great bloke, he never set the rugby world alight. As such, why was it ever thought he would be able to coach at the top level in his first season as a coach (grade rugby being his only previous coaching experience).
I don't think he is the one for next season and needs to be replaced....
Mind you there have been some really weird decisions at the Ospreys. For instance, how come Andrew Hore move from one minute as a fitness coach to the next the man in charge. That still confuses me...
I hope the Os can make amends next season, however, I think this could be the beginning of a few years in the wilderness. They have lost some influential players, and some more to go end of the season. This wont be the end, I reckon more will leave, and the Ospreys will need to rebuild, and this is where Tandy is NOT the man for the job.
Never know, could be the best thing in the long term...
Providing Hore doesn't go and give his old mate Scott Johnson a call ... OH SH!T!!!

Re: Zebre v Ospreys...
Having Hore there at all has always surprised me as again I cant see what he adds or brings to the set up.
They are currently still the best of our Regions which always makes it harder to understand when players want to leave as in do they know something the general public doesn't.

Re: Zebre v Ospreys...
The Ospreys have always been one of those teams that can play amazingly well...except when they need to, the repeated Heineken Cup failures prove this.
They'll have the odd amazing performance in the Pro12, but why cant they maintain some consistency?

Re: Zebre v Ospreys...
Im not so indifferent to Hore to be honest, although your quite right about the Johnson debacle!!! What has done is alot of work behind the scenes creating the one region thing, lots of succession planning and looking to develop age grade rugby, which looking at the numbers of exciting players we have coming through must be working.
Bring back Lynn I say. Or even better bring John Plumtree back to Swansea

Oi TBJ,
Keep your hands off Lyn he's a Man of Gwent now thank you very much .
I agree on the youngsters they are bringing through and like the other Regions its through neccessity, I guess people still expect the marque names like a few years back but that never brought them the big prize either.
