What next for Khan if Maidana v Floyd rematch?
Who will Khan face if Maidana faces Floyd in a rematch?
Khan has waited next to a year for a potential mayweather fight and if mayweather fights Maidana in a rematch in September Khan will have to wait until May 2015 at the earliest for a possible match.

Khan has Ramadan in around that time anyway so he can't fight in September can he?

I think a lot of people are blinded by the fact that Maidana beat Broner and did not get KO'd in this fight than is actually being a close fight. A lot of the bully swings from Maidana were clearly missing and he was getting countered.
Clear winner already but for the meantime Amir should look at maybe a Bradley fight as they got it on at 140 or JMM around November, December time. A win against either of those would push his credibility more.

Khan should fight broner, it's the perfect training exercise for a fight with floyd. It's like floyd light, then he could move onto the next level.

How dare fighters start using Broner as the next Andre "Springboard to Floyd" Berto.
I see Truss has Broner as P4P number 6 after going 10 rounds with a lightweight with no power, footspeed or defence.

I read Floyd said his next fight will be Sept 13. After hearing that date Khan confirmed he would not be fighting Mayweather in Sept due to Ramadan.
I would not be surprised if Floyd called out Broner.
Then there's the south paw with fast feet, relentless energy and high punch output. He's like a Rolls Royce version of Castillo and Maidana, Floyd won't be fighting him.

He's nothing like Castillo or Maidana...
Why do people keep saying he is, he literally is nothing like that, he doesn't bully people around the ring, he likes quick exchanges in the centre, but never sells out to land like Castillo and Maidana do. Would Maidana or Castillo have slowly followed Mosley around the ring 400 times? No, they would have tried to pounce on him and shove him into the ropes, Manny is completely different to both of those fighters.

I was going to say that Alex but it will only start off another Mayweather is a ducker argument.
Let's be honest though he's fought countless pressure fighters and almost always won comfortably, like everyone else he has the occasional off night which I think last night was. Maidana did better than expected but those trying to suggest he possesses Mayweathers kryptonite are failing to acknowledge the other 44 fights of his career when he's won with ease.

Then why hasn't Mayweather fought Manny.
The fighters that have had the best success against Floyd have had a high work rate and good feet. Castillo was also a south paw and that helped get around Floyd's shoulder roll defense.
Cotto came at Mayweather and threw a lot of punches. It's been evident that the fighters that make Mayweather the most uncomfortable are those that don't give him time to dictate the pace of the fight and let him pick his shots. It was exactly the same with Oscar who just couldn't keep it up.
There is plenty of precedent.

My error on Castillo but my points on fighters that don't let Mayweather settle having the most success stands. There are plenty of examples of this. It was Judah I was thinking of who is south paw, Floyd took time to adapt to Judah and was losing rounds.

The thing is everybody struggles at some point its about adapting to those things something he'd done for years until last night. Fighters age and have off nights it's natural, Pacquiao would have caused problems but I don't think pressure per se is the issue.

Tend to agree. I think yesterday was more a 37 year old who's legs couldn't get out of pocket quick enough,

Floyd needs time and space to do his thing. Maidana was willing to put himself in the danger zone and keep swinging. Floyd didn't adapt too well when he had no time and space just like he didn't when Castillo did the same thing.

That simply isn't true Strongy, you do realise that he's been under pressure in more than two fights?

I don't think so rematch would be of any difference and not sure it would be as good a match, I would rather allow Khan take on Floyd and khan winning it would see a rematch between khan and Maidana.

A close fight doesn't necessarily warrant a rematch. To be honest, does anyone think the result of a rematch would be any different? You'd probably just see even more spoiling from Mayweather. Pacquiao/Martinez/Khan are the only fights I'd be interested in before he retires

Thurman vs Mayweather is the most intriguing I reckon. Mayweather would have fits with Thurmans movement I think based on what we seen at the weekend

Thurman has the speed and the power to trouble Floyd so that fight won't happen. Would love to see Thurman in with Pacquiao though, I think Thurman beats him handily.

Pacquiao nor Floyd will want to fight a hungry, skilled young fighter.
Maybe Khan but that's it I reckon.
Floyd takes a Maidana rematch then maybe Khan with an easy night in his last fight against a non pressure fighter. Possibly Broner.

Re: What next for Khan if Maidana v Floyd rematch?
I would be happy for there to be a rematch, on my scorecard Maidana was no more than getting edged out in a close round to winning, but i made it a draw. Floyd wont be getting any better at this stage and Maidana will be bursting with confidence. Beating Broner and pushing Floyd all the way is certainly better justification for another fight with Floyd than losing 2 of your 5 fights and having beating only 1 real credible opponent in those fights. In fairness to Khan he fought a very good fight at the weekend and if he can take that forward and beat a top welterweight than he will have earned his big payday next year with Floyd, if Maidana does not beat him in the rematch.

Re: What next for Khan if Maidana v Floyd rematch?
I thinks rematch could happen, I expect this fight to do under 1 million ppv's stateside. I believe for shotime to make a profit on a floyd fight (his 32 million and undercard expenses), they need to sell over 1 million. After the guerarro disappointment I think they forced the issue with Canelo.
A rematch with Maidana might be the biggest seller out there, they rerun this fight free to air in the run up, and fight 2 sells itself.
Then to protect floyds 0, they make joe Cortez the ref, maidana gets disqualified for persistent fouling, then they sell a 3rd fight, which is even bigger. Froch and groves tells us controversy sells...
Then everyone except joe public goes home happy.
