Re: 2013/14 End of Season Awards
Manager of the Year
Matt - Qualified for the playoffs, Amlin Final and won the Anglo Welsh.
Honorable mentions to both Luke (Heino finalist & top of the table) & Pete (see next cat).
Most Improved Manager of the Year
Pete - Gone from 8th last season to a points deduction away from topping the table this year.
Honorable mention to Fluxy who has taken the 'newly promoted' Chiefs to safety.
Team of the Year
Leicester Tigers.
Most Improved team of the year
Exeter Chiefs.
Player of the Year
Kieran Read - Helped stabilise Falcons season on his return from the RC and led them to European qualification.

Being biased Danny Care - Possibly England's most important player right now and a massive predictions winner

Re: 2013/14 End of Season Awards
Manager of the Year
Pooly. Saracens in trouble and a few deals later and they have some momentum and were comfortably safe. Similar dealing in the summer and he could be a playoff contender come the end of next season.
Most Improved Manager of the Year
I find this a tough one to award. Probably go for Flux. He has done a lot of dealing which should see his squad in good condition for next season.
Team of the Year
Leicester - Might have slipped up in the AP final but won an intense HC final and have been the team to beat all season. End of an era for Luke's squad with Wilko and BOD retiring.
Most Improved team of the year
Saracens
Player of the Year
Player who stands out week in week out for me in predictions has been Samu Manoa. Extremely powerful and always stands out.
Young Player of the Year
George Ford - come on immensely this year. Now a strong option at fly half at this level which wasn't true in September.
EQ Player of the Year
Mike Brown - been exceptional. Tough between him and Care.
Signing of the Season
technically the effects of this won't be felt this season but Owen Farrell to Newcastle is a great deal.
Find of the Season
Team of the Season

Re: 2013/14 End of Season Awards
Manager of the year: SirJohnnyEnglish
Having been just outside of the play offs last year, SJE has made some shrewd purchases and for me gets his tactics pretty much spot on generally, which is what has won him games against other sides that were better on paper.
Most improved manager of the year: Fluxy
As the season has progressed, so has Fluxy as a manager, with better deals and tactics, which has seen him at the end of the season in a comfortable 9th place.
Team of the year: Gloucester
They have won the Anglo Welsh Cup, they are in the play off semi finals and the Amlin final. No other side can win 3 trophies this season.
Most improved team of the year: Saracens
As has been said, an unrecognisable side from the start of the season, and with some decent dealing could well make a challenge for the top 4 or 6 next season.
Player of the year: Danny Care
In real life he has been consistently excellent this season, and he is a player who I was never a huge fan of previously, but I have found myself this season putting a lot of weight on his performance in predictions. He just has a knack of influencing games.
Young player of the year: Billy Vunipola
I presume that this has to be somebody academy aged in the game, and Billy is the only academy aged player who makes my team of the season, so takes this award.
EQ Player of the year: Danny Care (See above)
Signing of the season:
Find of the season:
Team of the season: Have tried to select this based on real life form across the AP, Rabo, Super Rugby, T14 and Heino this season, as that is what I base my predictions on, so these are guys that have made a difference for me when predicting in the game.
15. Mike Brown
14. Israel Folau
13. Brian O'Driscoll
12. Luther Burrell
11. Nick Cummins
10. Jonny Wilkinson
9. Danny Care
1. Tendai Mtawarira
2. Bismarck du Plessis
3. Jannie du Plessis
4. Bakkies Botha
5. Courtney Lawes
6. Tom Wood
7. Steffon Armitage

Re: 2013/14 End of Season Awards
Manager of the Year
Sir Johnny English
Sale looking better each year and he's gambles a few years back on the likes of Sexton is finally paying off.
Most Improved Manager of the Year
CJ
It would be easy to give it Flux following his climb up the table and shrewd dealing , but for me he's always been a clever tactition and good manager. CJ has taken to the game well and wasn't far off keeping Wuss off the drop , plenty of youth given a chance see's him take it.
Team of the Year
Gloucester - 3 finals speaks for itself
Most Improved team of the year
London Wasps - Pete in the play offs again? Is that a broken record playing? flew up the league this year into 2nd.
Player of the Year
Isreal Falou - match winner in predictions for me , Mike Brown close 2nd.
Young Player of the Year
George Ford - Should be first choice 10 at Saints next year,
EQ Player of the Year
Mike Brown & Danny Care
I can't split them at all , both been great at Tigers and Sale this year.
Signing of the Season
Willie Le Roux - Best full back to Worcester what a coup!
Find of the Season

Re: 2013/14 End of Season Awards
Manager of the Year:
Luke - Two finals and on the brink of making history.
Most Improved Manager of the Year:
Really tough one, I will plump with Pooly who pulled Saracens out the mire into safety.
Team of the Year:
Leicester Tigers
Most Improved team of the year:
Sale Sharks - at one point it looked unlikely that SJE's oufit would make impact in the league. But a great turnaround since the Six Nations saw his side rocket up the league and almost squeeze into the AP Final.
Player of the Year:
Mike Brown - simple decision.
Young Player of the Year:
George Ford - Ford's emergence has filled in a troublesome problem for the Saints at half back. In a team of international quality Saints have lacked a little game changing quality and control, but Ford's growth as a first team 10 has been recognized not just by his Club but now his country.
EQ Player of the Year:
Mike Brown - Brown has been outstanding, and this really shows as he has been highly influential for the Tigers through out the season both domestically and in Europe and for England.
Signing of the Season:
I know it happened quite late in the season, but Wasps bringing in Joe Marler will make a big impact for them next season.
Find of the Season:
Luther Burrell - Pooly pulled of a blinder here signing him for very little, and I don't think many would have excepted this lads meteoric rise over the past 9 months!
Team of the Season.
1. Joe Marler
2. Dave Ward
3. Dave Wilson
4. Joe Launchbury
5. Courtney Lawes

Re: 2013/14 End of Season Awards
Manager of the Year
Pete - Gone from 8th to what would have been top if he'd not have selected an ineligible player or two...An outstanding jump in form and credit to him for the turnaround. Deserving champions in the end with a great team and squad too.
Most Improved Manager of the Year
Fluxy - Much more settled side and strong league position sees Fluxy looking in much better shape today than this time last year.
Team of the Year
Wasps - To win the AP means you have to have both a great side, and great strength too. Credit to Wasps for the title win.
Most Improved team of the year
Sale - SJE got his side back to the top 4 after a bit of time lower down. Improved them consistently and they will continue to get stronger too.
Player of the Year
BdP - Not many players are significantly better than any other in their position. One of the reasons why Wasps have done so well.
Young Player of the Year
Billy - Great player for Chris, and he has looked so much better than expected. One of Saints' first names on the teamsheet, in front of Parisse, which says a lot.
EQ Player of the Year
Farrell - Guided Wasps to the title with consistent goal kicking and solid performances. Cemented place as England's 10 too.
Signing of the Season
Burrell - Fluxy did very well to land Burrell which really improves his midfield dynamism.
Find of the Season
Folau - Great find for Matt, and he's gone on to be one of the best in the world this year and gives Matt's back three a much more dangerous look when he plays.
Team of the Season

Folau - Great find for Matt, and he's gone on to be one of the best in the world this year and gives Matt's back three a much more dangerous look when he plays.

Re: 2013/14 End of Season Awards
Manager of the Season - SJE - Not only for his running of Sale but for his seamless transition into running the game. He is worthy of this award just for his Sale side, a lot of which were risky acquisitions and have come good for him. His tactics are unrivalled and was unlucky losing to Pete in the Semis of the league.
Most Improved Manager of the Season - Flux - From being relegated last season to 9th place is quite an achievement and the resident wheeler dealer has taken well to his transfer dealings.
Team of the Year - Leicester - I had Luke down as manager of the season but decided the two are fairly interchangeable and this possibly suits category better. Luke has created such a good side that even after winning the league last year there has been no fall off - winning the Heineken Cup, finishing top of the table and winning the league. Luke has an incredible squad for all parts of the season and this is shown by the fact he can get so close to a double.
Most Improved Team of the Season - Sarries - Pooly has taken over and just looking at the how the team has developed over the year you can see the impact his dealings have had and he now has some quality players.
Player of the Year - BDP. Really leader and match winner for Pete
EQ Player of the Year - Danny Care really stands out to make the Sale half backs such a top quality combo.
Signing of the Season - Willie Le Roux is an incredible player and was a great signing for Worcester
Find of the Season - Kieran Marmion was a good find. Hard to pick a player who is a find so went with someone young and non international player
Team of the Season -
1. Joe Marler
2. Bismarck Du Plessis
3. Juan Figallo
4. Nathan Hines
5. Courtney Lawes
6. Tom Wood
7. Steffon Armitage
8. Kieran Read
9. Danny Care
10. Johnny Sexton
11. Israel Folau
12. Jamie Roberts
13. Adam Ashley Cooper
14. Julian Savea
