Well, if nothing else it'll be a chance to see how Steffon Armitage goes against international opposition.

Interesting number of 'uncapped' RSA players in the World XV.

I'd take that world xv to win the RWC next season to be honest.
For a bunch of OAPs and rejects its pretty impressive!

Problem is you would never get a true 'Worlds Best XV' playing together due to all the commitments teams have Tours, 6 Nations, RC etc etc

I would definitely say so. Bookies are still taking bets but I can't see anything but a SA win. They may have changed the name but the post-drink celebrations are still going strong methinks.

Re: South Africa Vs World XV
would be surprised if this toulon extended squad world XV gets anywhere close to SA...
that said Mallet is taking of things seriously when it comes to bringing players from Europe:

Going to be an amazing battle.
Gorgodze isn't blessed with the best temperament either, so I fully expect it to overflow a couple of times.
Such a shame Etzebeth is injured. Would have loved to see those two going at eachother

Re: South Africa Vs World XV
South Africa team is as follows:
South Africa: 15 Willie le Roux, 14 Cornal Hendricks, 13 JP Pietersen, 12 Frans Steyn, 11 Bryan Habana, 10 Morne Steyn, 9 Ruan Pienaar, 8 Duane Vermeulen, 7 Willem Alberts, 6 Francois Louw, 5 Victor Matfield (c), 4 Bakkies Botha, 3 Jannie du Plessis, 2 Bismarck du Plessis, 1 Tendai Mtawarira
Replacements: 16 Schalk Brits, 17 Gurthro Steenkamp, 18 Coenie Oosthuizen, 19 Flip van der Merwe, 20 Schalk Burger, 21 Fourie du Preez, 22 Johan Goosen, 23 Lwazi Mvovo
Pietersen at 13 ahead of the likes of De Allende seems a strange call, and has Flip VDM been off form this season? He looked a real quality lock in the Autumn games to me, thought he would have been a mainstay going forward
The forwards off the bench are just scary, Oosthuizen, Brits, Flip and Burger is some serious power with FDP running the show late on

Can't wait to see Burger running around in a Springbok shirt again.
Got to love that pack as well. Never thought we'd see Bakkies and Matfield pairing again.

Funny, I was wondering the exact same thing recently. Maybe one's slightly more 'invitational' than the other, whatever that means

Depends on who is organising the World XV/Baa Baas I guess, Barbarians rugby club will be the latter but who organises the former is anyone's guess

That's like being told your champagne has been replaced with Lambrini.
Should be a good game, certainly not lacking in big names and big physicality.

Unless Frans Steyn can pull through SA are looking increasingly thin in midfield. Or do they yet have untapped resources who could potentially do a job?

We still have Jan Serfontein at 12 as well, and Engelbrecht and Sithole at midfield.
If it goes haywire, Willie le Roux can step in as well, or Gossen to 10 and Morne Steyn to 12

If they work together we could have a really good game.
Looking forward to this.

Looks like the Ulsterman is going to have to carry the rest of the World backrow - couple of lightweights
Seriously chuffed for him - should have gone to the Emerging Ireland tour as an old experienced hand.

Who scored for the World XV? Missed the start. Also who the hell picked the colour for the World XV? They could have had any colour, why pick one so close to the South African home jersey!!!

George Clancy has far overachieved the level that a referee of his limited ability should have ever achieved. How can someone be this pedantic during a Barbarians match.

Biltong why is Pat Cilliers not n the South African Team. He has been the best scrummaging bok on the pitch since he's come on. Very under rated player, he is probably the best scrummaging tight head you have yet he isn't even in the set up
