Happy Fathers Day!
It is Father's Day in the US today!
To all the Fathers who put in hard work to keep families together and support their loved ones, Happy Fathers Day.

Re: Happy Fathers Day!
My first one today.
Boy is 7 1/2 months old.
An amazing feeling.
Certainly looking forward to seeing him grow up.
Having some great times as I already have, along the way.
Hope every dad had a good day.

Cherish these early days.
Mine are 4 now, and I do miss those early years.

Re: Happy Fathers Day!
My Father never agreed with Father's day...Part of it I believe is that he blamed himself for the loss in some way of my Sister......Also he thought it was just another b**lsh*t reason for retailers to milk the consumer....
Have to say it's rubbed off on me...........I don't see the point in it.....and always tell Rob not to bother...(Joanne has long since stopped getting a card for him to sign !!
I chose to have kids (The second was a surprise) They don't owe me anything and when I become the perfect Dad they can show their gratitude...
Do believe in Mother's day though...........They do a great job in nurturing and bringing up the young of the nation and deserve rewarding for their underappreciated-by- Society efforts..

Think it's to do with the Easter Calendar for us. Traditionally Mothering Sunday was the time when folks travelled back to whichever parish church they grew up with, their mothering church so to speak, for that particular Sunday service. In the US Mothers Day was campaigned for, by a lady whose name I cannot recall at the moment, to celebrate mothers etc. However both have been hijacked by greetings card companies, florists, jewellers, restaurants and any other bar steward that tries to make out that you are a horrible person if you don't spend hundreds on your mum or wife on behalf of your kids. The lady, whose name I still can't recall, got so disillusioned by what her ideals had been turned into organised protests against Mothers Day and was even arrested doing so.
