Certainly Jake wins out in the personality stakes but that is a bit like saying Cheryl Cole wins out in the beauty stakes over Susan Boyle.

But in coaching terms, there seems to be parallels. Both are in the international wilderness and both have turned round decent sides with disappointing results and turned them into contenders. They both have a conservative view of the game and are not interested in performance but, rather, results. And the results speak loud and clear for themselves and justify the negative press they receive over their lack of scoring.

Is this coincidence? Have these two been on a summer camp together learning how to win ugly but win consistently?

Rugby forum...dont care about football or any of its coaches/players, the professional football game is horrible from top to bottom. If we have to compare them both, one coaches in a crap sport one coaches in a legendary sport.

DOn't know Mourinho and don't care. So it is hard to compare an apple with an orange.

Yes Jake White coaches for his stats, he doesn't care how he wins and I think he has a very rigid methodology that he expects his players to live by.

I do wonder though what would he do if his players revolt and just go for gold?

They also both get linked to every high-profile job going, all the time, by lazy journalists regardless of whether they are even interested or available.

Personally speaking.  You can have them both kia.  Any girl who paints a giant rose tattoo where her ass should be has done a disservice to nature - and a better artist.

On Jake White......................... the only thing I'll say about him is that he seems to be eternally ready, willing and available for virtually any rugby coaching job that ever comes up no matter where in the world it is.

There's an opening there this week.  Oh yeah, Jake White might work well there.
There's an opening there next week.  Oh sure..I think Jake White is up for that.
There's a Head Coach role there in a months time.  That might work out for Jake White.  There's talk of him becoming available

Jake................. he's always a phone call away from every job that ever comes up, bless him.

Oops..Notch, the divil, beat me to it!!!  Oh well, post and be damned.  I share the view.

I think for the lazy media (is there any other kind), they have become the "go to" guys to sell papers. When a vacancy comes up, at the appropriate level of course, they are slotted into the frame.

Whether this is because they are both extremely good man managers and coaches with a huge track record of success around the game or it's because the perception of them is that they are unprincipled money chasers who'll dump their current employer at the first sniff of a better payday is for the reader to decide...... Whistle
