New rugby management computer game
After a quick scan I couldn't see this mentioned anywhere, but Pro Rugby Manager 2015 has recently been announced for PC and iPad. Apparently it is the first rugby management game to be released in a decade (since PRM2) and is due for release in September.

Did anyone play the old versions back in the day?

Re: New rugby management computer game
Yes, there used to be a rugby forum called digital jesters years ago and many of the programmers and reserchers actually posted on there. I can remember when they were looking for people to help make the game I did volunteer to do the Welsh regions but sadly they went to other people, although I was friendly with the other people.
The first game they made was a total mess but the second game they made was pretty good, though all you needed to do was have a fast wing to win any game. You simply had a scrum close to the touch line and used a preplanned move where the 9 draws in the opposition winger and passes to the now unmarked winger who would always score a try. Basically all you needed was a scrum to get a try.
Up until recently EAC (evil angry cat) was occasionally doing updates to the game season by season, and posting on the independant rugby forum which was created when the digital jesters forum closed when the company shut down, so at least you could play with the players real names, as in the original version the players had names like Doncan Bones (Duncan Jones) etc.
I'm looking forward to it! But I will read some reviews before I buy it.

I had prm2, and was really into it, but had to edit the database, which took ages, as the Celtic league wasn't licences, some players nationality was wrong etc. That said it was fun, and I'll prob get this if the reviews are half decent.

What do you guys think about the lack of licenses for SH competitions?
I guess it will depend on whether it is possible to edit the database, no doubt some bright spark will put a lot of effort into getting a modified database available to download so hopefully it won't be a huge issue

I think that is what happened with PRM2, I just took ages updating the squads (and photos) every season, but that is because I am a bit sad.

All the Prem, Rabo and Pro 14 divisons are licenced so it will have all their players correctly named etc.
