Everything is Awesome
The off topic has lately turned into a place to moan about everything so how about we turn it around a bit and try and cheer ourselves up.
Use this thread to post anything that has made you smile, laugh or think 'you know what it ain't quite as bad as I think it is'.
What's really cheered me up us that we took the kids to comic-con manchester today and it was brilliant. Absolutely lovely to see everyone dressing how they want and enjoying themselves without judging each other.
A big thanks to the Elsa's, Fluttershy, Ghostbusters and Deadpool that made my kids day by not just having a picture but by engaging them in a little conversation too.

My son said to me the other day "I want to be just like you when I grow up Dad". I hope he becomes a better man than me, but it did make me smile.

Am very happy being a dad.
Look forward to coming home from work even more now.
Not that I didn't before darling, if you read this(she has read a few of my posts before).
Just spending time with him makes me very happy.
Derby.
Have wanted to go to one of those comic con's for a while.
Would love to take my son to one when he is older.
Have heard they are great fun.

Re: Everything is Awesome
It was brilliant West, 16 quid for me and the missus and the kids were free and worth every penny. It's a lot of walking around stalls and steering them away from the expensive stuff :-) but everytime they see someone they recognise and their face lights up was excellent.
I'm not kidding but we spent an hour+ walking around to find one Princess Anna (from Frozen) for my daughter to get a picture with and it made her day when we did (especially when she had a chat with her too,) and you've got to remember that that wasn't someone paid to do that.
I've now promised my 2 that we can get dressed up next year too.
Back on topic,
Some lil poopie knocked one of our fence panels through a while ago. 2 weeks ago I got a knock on the door by what looked like a miserable old witch who I thought was going to complain about the dog/kids making a noise. (deep breath, keep calm) Opened the door, she apologised for disturbing me and informed me that she's walked past for weeks and noticed the panel and she's got a couple of spares I can have. 'No payment is wanted, no I won't accept that bottle of wine I'm just being neighbourly' Oh I forgot as well that she actually apologised for not telling me sooner.
Shocked me to my boots and kept me in a good mood.

My girlfriend stayed over for the week last week. She makes me laugh at the best of times, but seeing her sing "Can't take my eyes off of you" at the karaoke on Friday was almighty. It really is the little things.

The tennis board has a few females, while the rugby board seems to have some as well.
Derby, was the title inspired by the Lego movie theme song of the same name? I went to watch the film with my little sister, great film.

I could sit and watch puppies all day, I'm sure they're the way they are just to make everybody happy. We currently have a stand off going on with 2 trying to lay on each other so all they're doing is going in circles moving their heads
Also Friendship between goat and donkey

Everytime these come up on daily laughs it cheers me up. (Plus making me want to punch the ukcer that put the animals through it in the first place.

Re: Everything is Awesome
When you say "puppies" do you mean actual puppies or "puppies" as made famous by Wrestling's Jerry "The King" Lawler? If it's the former, you suck, if it's the latter, you rule.

Re: Everything is Awesome
That made me laugh far more than it shout, and it's the former (boxer pups to be precise.)
We've got a cat too, although he's a lazy so and so that does his own thing.

Honestly I'm not enamoured with pets myself but as I'm away a lot they're for the missus and kids really. Wouldn't change for the world now especially with how they've bonded with the kids, plus it's always good to have a guard dog where we are ha ha

My daughters just walked in to tell me that Frozen is real and she knows it because she's just found a stick that looks exactly like Olafs arm.

Re: Everything is Awesome
Got a cat and I hate it...it does nowt, shows zero affection or inclination to be part of the family. Refuses food/demands food constantly, sleeps everywhere it shouldn't and may actually be retarded. Instead of mewling at the window to be let out at night, it runs upstairs, scratches at the carpet which means I get up to chuck a shoe at it and then it runs past and goes to the window then when you open the window it cringes and starts backing away from the outside world so I shut the window and the same sorry saga starts all over again. Then in the morning it yowls to be let in and either leaves a dead bird/mouse on the doorstop or if I'm really lucky, pukes it up in the kitchen.
My wife and especially my daughter LOVE the stupid friggin' thing and I'm thinking of leaving home

Re: Everything is Awesome
Dave are you sure your not my alter ego or something, our cat is near enough the same. Although it's gotten used to having 'it's' side of the bed so when I'm home I have to move over to let the lil poopie lay down. God forbid I don't and wake up with what feels like half a ton of black hair laying on me OR it decides bed time is the time to belt around the house like an elephant OR it decides I look like a nice landing pad while it's on the wardrobe.

By the way, if you were any sort of father you'd have told that stick meant Olaf had been brutally murdered.
I tell my daughter that the sound of the ice cream van is actually the siren for the Clown Ambulance and they're taking one to hospital so they won't be able to stop
