Re: Top four predictions
arsenal do love a good fourth position it has to be said, and i can see it again this year. a lot depends on whether we can pick up some better form under LVG.
going off the majority seems so far that top two is between city and chelsea, 3rd and fourth between united, arsenal and liverpool which seems right to me

I agree with Nando. If there were only 3 teams in the division Arsenal would finish 4th (also agree with that order, can't really call the top 2 spots but that looks likely. Would rather City than Chelsea though).

If we (utd) don't make any more signings, will be very difficult to get back in. If we bring in the rumoured players like Vidal (Big one for me), Cuardado, blind and hopefully Di Maria then we could be looking at an outside bet at the title.

It is tough to make a top 4 prediction because we don't know what will happen the rest of the way in the transfer window. I feel like Chelsea and Arsenal have done the most to improve themselves in the transfer window. United have made a big improvement in terms of manager and I like that LVG is running the 2-5-3 system which I actually think suits United as they are weak in the midfield and Rooney is better as striker than as a midfielder and would prefer to play up top at the point of the spear Wellbeck I think also is better as striker. Liverpool I think will fall off as they simply haven't done enough to replace Suarez as if they could. City I could see falling to as far as 4th. And this is not because of the charity shield performance. I feel like they were very up and down last year despite winning the league and as Ya ya and Aguero go so does City. Ya ya is making a lot of disgruntled noises again this year and Aguero while not fit was plain awful in the world cup and has been very susceptible to injury lately.

Re: Top four predictions
to be fair to Kun, the system Argentina played in the world cup was designed to get the very best out of one player, and one player only. Credit to them, it nearly worked, but I wouldn't read too much into his performance. He'll be back. Yaya though, I think is a big question mark. 32 end of the season. Was a great goalscoring threat last season, but definitely slacked on midfield duties, interesting to see how it goes. If Yaya doesn't produce the goods, I think we've all learnt that Fernandinho may in fact not be all that good.

Re: Top four predictions
Chelsea - On paper, their squad is excellent, they should win as long as Costa scores and stays injury free
Arsenal - Have made some great signings, I think they still need a DM (possibly Khedira) but they will be challenging
Man City - I see them struggling for goals this season
Liverpool - I think we will surprise people once again.

That is why I am sort of shorting City to a certain extent. Will Ya ya turn out another season like he did last year, Kompany was pretty bad last year for City, I thought one of the worst seasons he has had recently. And Demichellis was even worse. If Aguero doesn't turn up and have a big year I could see them losing their crown.

Can't see one trick pony Liverpool being top 4 now they've lost Suarez.

Re: Top four predictions
Hopefully Lovren et al will improve our defence (it couldn't have been much worse really) and despite losing Suarez, the goals scored by the rest of the team added up to more than Everton managed in total last season. I don't care about scoring five or more...you still only get three points for a win and whilst goal difference may be important, win the games and suddenly, GD is rendered irrelevant. If we stop leaking goals, there's no need for a 30+ goals a season man. We have the creative players so we should be able to keep scoring and a few players might need to chip with a few more this season. I'd still like to see us sign a proven striker as back up for Sturridge but I'm confident that we'll be challenging for top four again this season. Like Rodgers said last time, secure top four and everything else is a bonus.
I'll be satisfied with top four and a decent run in the CL and hopefully a domestic Cup or at least playing in the final of one. Again it's hard to look past City and Chelsea but we've shown enough to suggest that those games will always be tight knit affairs now and a little bit of luck wouldn't hurt our chances.
Utd will surely improve but the honeymoon factor won't last forever, Arsenal will again show promise and be blighted by injuries, bad luck or the usual Anti-Wenger conspiracy.
Should be interesting though

I said Chelsea wouldn't make top 4, I think that's more out there than midfield-less United finishing one place higher than last seasoncompelling and rich wrote:well we have our first really out there prediction with gregers there! who you expecting to finish above us everton? spurs?

Good luck with that. Has happened 4 times since 99.
