Re: Betting thread
Done
Saints, Doncaster, Luton, Southend.
£256 if they win.
Also done 8 matches on the goals goals. £2 on, £166 if all 16 teams score.
Off up to Villa park tomorrow, so may do first goalscorer.

Willhill were offering 4/1 just for a sunderland win against us on sunday, worth a punt considering our potential starting midfield of fletcher and cleverley who will get destroyed by cattermole and rodwell

Why he is he being loaned then?
Odd choice if you have no other options. It could happen again.

Wouldn't make sense to loan. He's not young anymore, you loan players for experience & playing time to develop, which he's already done at Watford/Wigan. Would make sense to move him on for £8m to Everton, who were linked in the summer, but with the midfield in crisis, I can't see him leaving at all now. I read only a few weeks ago, United were ready to offer him a new deal anyway.

Quick look on Ladbrokes and:
Manchester City to win by more than one goal (handicap -1) - 19/10
BTTS and City to win - 21/10
Both seem good to me!

Re: Betting thread
10/3 at Ladbrokes for Besiktas to qualify tonight = worth a fiver.
The 6/4 at Betvictor for Napoli to qualify is worth a heavier stake.
And the 29/20 for Aston Villa to be leading at half-time and win at full-time over Leyton Orient with the same bookmaker as above is absolutely champion.
So I have put £5 (potential profit: £16.67), £25 (PP: £37.50) and £10 (PP: £14.50) on those respectively.
Nothing can go wrong! As long as Napoli come through it shall all be golden.

Re: Betting thread
ive done pretty well this season so far, had silva first goal and 2-0 against newcastle at 40/1, few other smaller ones comes in like mata first goal scorer against sunderland
worse miss was pre season when united played liverpool, had gerrard first scorer and united to win 2-1 was 110-1. we scored around 88 minutes to make it 3-1. ive never been so unhappy at us scoring!!

Well this were a costly evening! Still in profit for the week after the exploits on Monday, though, so all is not lost.

Still covered by the rapidly decreasing profit on Monday, I have stuck a relatively risky tenner on Hull, Tottenham, L Moscow, St. Etienne, PAOK, Inter, and Villarreal all to win. A victory would return a profit of just over £40.
They are all massive favourites to win, so I can go forward with some measure of confidence.

L Moscow, around 1/3 to 1/4 favourites pre-match, somehow lost 1-4 at home. Everything else, albeit a bit academic now, is going reasonably well!
