RWC tickets
Anyone applying when the ballot opens tomorrow? What games are you aiming for if so?
I would love to get to one of the games against Wales/Australia, but reckon Cat C and D will be well oversubscribed and can't really afford to go for Cat A/B!
Am hoping to get to an NZ and a SA game, would have liked to see some of the smaller nations, but none of them are playing around the south east sadly

Re: RWC tickets
Does anyone have a link to the definition of each category at each ground? E.g. whats Cat A, B, C or D at St James Park? Looking on the NUFC website at the seating plan its not easy to split into 4 areas.
I am looking to get matches at St James. Too good an opportunity to miss for local games.

I was thinking more along the lines of games between the likes of Romania, Fiji, Canada, Tonga, Georgia, Namibia etc for the smaller nations, just for the experience!
Am planning on applying for SA vs Samoa/Japan and hope to get one of them. NZ vs Argentina would be great, not really fancying seeing either of the big 2 tank the smaller teams

I will be applying, not really fussed as to the game I would get, just want to feel part of it. With the Amex being 20 minutes down the road I hope to get some games there regardless of who it is.

KO stages out of my price range - so will hope for favours.
Will apply for a variety of tickets - expect to get them for the France/Romania game at Olympic Park.

Re: RWC tickets
Put mine in today. Smooth process with no queue and great layout to the website. I've put in for the Elland Road double weekend of Italy v Canada on the Saturday and Scotland v USA on the Sunday, with a friend who lives there we've got a floor to kip on. Just about everyone I know from Scotland have also put in for that weekend at Category D so won't hold out too much hope though. Would have liked to have travelled to a few more but tickets prices are generally a bit rich for me.
Just be careful when checking out. I can't remember the event (might have been Commonwealth Games) but that had an option you could select where you would consent to drop down a price if your category is your preferred one was oversubscribed. On the RWC checkout though the box is to give permission for them to move you up a price category if yours is full Just be aware of that as you could end up getting some darn expensive tickets by accident!

D is in the gods...need binoculars to see the game.
C is not so bad
B is better
A is very good.
I have grave concerns that loads of football fans or people who have never been to a rugby game or even watched one on tv will put in to the ballot and they could get tickets at the expense of true rugby loving fans which would be very bad imo.

Will try for the smallish game between Eng and Wales at HQ and a few other lesser games, but I have the same fears as you Geordie, it wouldn't feel right, fingers crossed everyone here gets something.

Re: RWC tickets
Here in Wales we got the chance to get tickets for matches (at the Millennium Stadium only) on 17 June as part of the Rugby Community Ticket Programme
In England it was May - http://www.rugbyworldcup.com/ticketing/rugbycommunity/
"Under the Rugby Community Ticket Programme, 500,000 tickets for Rugby World Cup 2015 will go on sale to Rugby fans through the English club network and wider Rugby community from May 2014.
The programme enables clubs and Rugby organisations to give members an opportunity to access tickets for the Tournament, ahead of the general sale in September, recognising and rewarding loyal Rugby fans."
So if you're a club member and didn't get notice of this, blame your club
Going to
Wales v Uruguay/Russia
New Zealand v Georgia
QF2 Winner Pool C (New Zealand) v RU Pool D (France/Ireland)

That suggests you are not confident that Wales will make it that far

seems like the welsh aren't off to a great start.
same with Leicester, although that was more predictable.

Re: RWC tickets
I created an account withe the RWC2015 ticketing org. Logged on got all enthusiastic until I saw the prices.
Was getting ready to bid for some pairs .. £300+ a pair, and that is just for for category C. If my bids became awards that is a lot on money to find next month, a year ahead of the matches. These do not feel like 'fan' prices, but I guess this is market forces... well heeled suits etc
But again this will probably not return to England in my lfetime.
Any thoughts ?
(PS: as a Glaws s/ticket holder I will be going to prelim games at Kingsholm)

Aye, they're not cheap !!! I believe it's down to the RFU having to guarantee a figure (£85 million I think ???) for the IRB.

Re: RWC tickets
The problem with the wales fixtures is that the fans have already been fleeced for £75 a match for the AI's, having to pay out more in october probably isn't appealing.

Re: RWC tickets
Not that I doubt I will get one but £75 for Wales v Eng/Aus at Twickenham isn't to bad in my book. I do however refuse to bid for the silly prices for the knockout rounds

Im paying 80 pounds each for my Wales NZ tickets this November. BW you can just bid for the cheap seats in the knockout rounds and not check the box that automatically upgrades you if your desired price is sold out.

Re: RWC tickets
That QF will be great for the neutral actually. Possible NZ vs France in Cardiff again. I'm not going though I assume I'll be in a padded cell somewhere. If not it's NZ Ireland and that has ambush all over it too.
You think the IRB will take the michael and appoint Barnes to that game?
