Conspiracy Theory
There were two gunmen, there is no wind on The Moon to blow that flag, where was the plane wreckage after falling into The Twin Towers, on what technology did the US military base their Stealth bombers. We all like a good conspiracy theory. It engages us as it appeals to our sensibilities to believe that we know more than the establishment is willing to give us credit for.
Well how about this rugby conspiracy theory. Ewen McKenzie is deadly afraid of Michael Cheika. He appears to be a carbon copy of Link when he was with the Reds when that franchise was playing a positive brand of rugby and secured the Super trophy playing an exciting brand of rugby. Cheika won the S15 this year playing arguably an even more exciting brand of rugby. Many critics (mainly Reds fans in Australia and Crusaders fans in NZ!) said it was all too easy to play that style when your team was full of internationals.
Come the June series, you would've thought Link didn't have too much thinking to do. Just select the Waratahs and put in a few other players here and there. Then why did he stick two Brumbies players in at 9 and 12 to change up that continuity? When Australia played two very convincing tests against France with a shocker in between, Link suddenly went a step even further. He changed Foley and put in Beale at 10. Hansen quipped that maybe there was pressure from the ARU.
An alternative theory was that Link wanted to put his own stamp on things. Show the ARU and fans that he knew best. It'd be too easy to continue the Waratahs backline. Test rugby is different. The Wallaby pack is not the same as the Waratahs pack and won't gain as much dominance. Australia needs more than Super re-heats in the microwave. They need a Masterchef invention box and I am the man to come up with that innovative brilliance.
The test at Newlands sees a Phipps Foley partnership together but in between are a Brumbies wedge in Toomua, Kuridrani and Tomane. Beale is on the bench. Bob Dwyer was critical of Toomua on attack saying he stood too deep to Foley standing flat in the line. Folau would be better served by someone standing on the shoulder of Foley and able to turn the ball back on the inside to Folau entering the line. There are also only two Waratahs players in the pack.
The Wallabies are the greater sum of the Waratahs. At least they should be. And yet there were things that you'd have liked to have seen more from the Waratah element in the Wallabies that hasn't carried on from their Super campaign. The question is: was Link afraid to carry on someone else's legacy and did he prefer to stamp his own mark on the national team for fear of being overshadowed by an up-and-coming coach? Or is that just a crackpot conspiracy to be added to the rest of the crackpot pile?

God, you're an idiot all the same, Kia.
Link was bloody Deep Throat in the underground carpark who predicted to Bernstein the Twin Tower attack all of thirty years before it happened! And he even said who would do it - Rocking Roll loving Aliens!!!
Get with the program and educate yourself. Even Beale knows all that stuff.
